  1. Serious question here...did Brooke and Ridge actually remarry? Are they married at this point? Do Brooke and Ridge even know???
  2. I had enjoyed a lot of his work on OLTL, and I also liked much of his first few years on DAYS where he did some umbrella stories and dug into the show's past for story ideas. I even liked Gwen's initial introduction and her rivalry with Abby. But, after many years of watching, I finally started losing interest when Ben, the serial killer, became a romantic hero. Then, the DiMeras literally totally took over the entire show, and I believe they always worked best in smaller doses. The Hortons all but disappeared. Then came all the mask wearing and switching which made all the characters look like idiots. Leo, the most annoying character ever created, pulled a "Dimera" and also took over the show. Then, Marlena, Kate, and Kayla were put on ice and visited heaven before being saved, and I was DONE. I couldn't take any aspect of the show seriously anymore. Haven't watched an episode in over a year now and cancelled Peacock.
  3. Just waiting for Det. Baker to show up and start talking about these silly ass murders. Remember when Det. Baker had that hot son for a millisecond? Of course, he was extremely handsome and a person of color, so they did nothing with him.
  4. Deacon's Pizza Shack really is a one-stop for all your needs in Los Angeles. Why would anyone go anywhere else? OMG...I can totally see this happening.
  5. Wow...two murders! A homeless guy and Hollis, who was hot as hell, but they did nothing with! What an exciting summer storyline! On the edge of my seat! Maybe the killer will be... 1. Poppy's mints 2. Eric's stapler 3. Sheila's missing toe 4. Paris to finally give her some sort of a personality 5. The mannequin who looks like Hope 6. Douglas who's tired of switching up who his Mommy is all the time 6. Carter who's tired of being "just like family" 7. Katie because she was bored and had nothing else to do! 8. Zende whose defense will be "But, I thought they wanted to be killed!" 9. Luna's as of yet undiagnosed multiple personality named Tuna. 10. A random extra in the background at Deacon's pizza shack! The possibilities are endless!
  6. We have almost no Hortons left, but hey, Leo has three love interests!
  7. I actually really like Michael Graziadei as an actor. I thought he still had great chemistry with CK. Why they separated the two...I have no idea. But, now they don't seem to know what to do with either character.
  8. The show DESPERATELY needs at least one other restaurant set. Having Deacon's place be the ONLY place people eat is ridiculous. Hope and Finn have zero chemistry. I wish they would finally develop a story for Hope and Steffy besides their man swapping.
  9. Wow...so Carter and Katie broke up off screen? I didn't even register that information. LSV should be front and center, IMO and not a second rate sidekick for the Forresters. Are Brooke and Ridge married at this point? Does anyone know? Do Brooke and Ridge know??? lol
  10. OMG...this show is just so...BAD. So, Thomas spends a few episodes talking about how in love he is with Paris, etc. only to propose to Hope AGAIN while Paris is outside the house. Why Hope would be there at this party to begin with is a whole other bizarre question to ask. WTH? This is what's soooo soooo wrong with this show. Everything is just...pointless. There are no lasting ramifications to ANYTHING. For this story to have worked on some level, Thomas really needed to be in love with Paris and steadfast about this. He should truly be torn and not just toss Paris aside the moment Hope looks all interested again. Instead, Paris, who's wooden as all get out, is just used as a prop for the show to drag out to look like it's diverse. The same way they bring out Carter and do nothing with him at all or turn Zende into a rapist. This show can not and refuses to make characters of color three dimensional. They're just shoehorned into random stories and then dropped like a hot potato. They really had a chance with the Avants and for some unknown reason let them all fade away. LSV is THE hottest man on the show with amazing presence, and what do they do with him? Nada! Nothing since Quinn and those two were the hottest thing the show had in years but they dropped the ball yet again. Is he still dating Katie? Who the hell knows? Do we care? No? But, we're reminded that he can officiate weddings and is "like family." They ruined the character of Zende...for what? They could have built a true rivalry between Zende and RJ and a love triangle with Luna in the middle and introduce another young female troublemaker character to round it out. But, that insane "mints" story ruined all of that potential. I feel like they introduce stories that could be compelling at times, but the follow through is just awful. Then, we get a homeless guy murdered with random people we haven't seen in forever popping up to be "suspects." What's the point of that? Why is the audience supposed to care? I'm just hate watching the show at this point when I tune in on occasion. There are some great actors on this show, and they deserve SOOOOOOO much better. The underuse of KKL is criminal.
  11. Why is this show so intent on making Leo HAPPEN???
  12. If the show is the one that provides the details for the CC, it's a reminder of how much importance they give their AA characters.
  13. Justin popping up out of nowhere...WTH???? Again, it feels like the show just keeps doing random things with no build-up. Why should we care who killed this guy? He was barely there to begin with!
  14. Exactly...that's what SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED. They almost went there with a Bill and Li pairing at one point. Then, have Poppy and Luna show up. But, as others mentioned, Luna is so one dimensional. She's "perfect" just like Carter "is like family." We're told these things but with no actual development of the idea.
  15. I agree that the current shows aren't allowing their characters to "age" and this keeps the younger set from being fully developed. IMO, Nick on Y&R is the perfect example of this, and as a result, his children are not allowed to become fully developed characters. Honestly, I think Liam on B&B wins the award for this thread. The show keeps recycling the same triangle for him over and over. Somehow, despite being the most wishy-washy man on daytime, we're supposed to believe that these smart, beautiful women (Steffy and Hope) stay hung up on him...why????
  16. This is why the show needs some fresh new characters badly! Would it kill them to introduce a brand new character for Hope that doesn't have all that baggage?
  17. Hope - "You were my rock, Thomas! The one man I could count on! From the time you stole my baby and told me it was dead to when you made out with a mannequin that looked like me, no man could ever replace you!"
  18. Oh wow! I really like this idea. The modeling agency could even be part of Forrester.
  19. The former Little Eric would be a great character, too. He could upend Hope's life or become involved with Steffy without her knowing who he is. So many possibilities, but we just get wash and repeat.
  20. If B&B is consistent about anything, it's being inconsistent!
  21. I'm still not convinced that Bill is the daddy. I think Li set up that DNA test because she doesn't want the real truth to come out. I feel like Poppy had potential as a character but the writing is ALL OVER THE PLACE. And, now with the homeless guy making googly eyes at her...sigh. Also, Luna (I do like the actress), is WAAAAY too perfect. She needs some sort of edge to her. Perfect = boring. LOL at Paris answering to Douglas' mommy call. So random. First, we haven't seen Paris since when...November. And, now we're supposed to believe that she somehow got engaged to Thomas in the past few months??? What would have been much more interesting would be if Thomas had returned to Paris engaged to Nicole Avant, Zende's ex-wife for which we never got an explanation for on why they divorced. At least that would tie more characters into the story. Paris, due to the writing, has suffered from "Luna-ism"...so perfect she's boring as all hell.
  22. Bringing Jack on as RJ's rival is a no brainer IMO. I can't believe they haven't done it. Can you imagine the drama...Brooke's son that she didn't give birth to??? He could be all about revenge, drama, and messing up people's lives...think Jonathan back on GL.
  23. I watched DAYS for many years but finally gave up not long after the switch to Peacock...although the switch was not the reason I stopped. I started to become disenchanted with the show when Ben, the serial killer, became the hero after "taking some medicine." If they really wanted to keep the actor, they should have had him switch roles sooner or play Ben's twin. To get all of the characters to forgive a serial killer and make him "the good guy" was just too much of a stretch for me. I've liked some of RC work on OLTL and even some of what he did when he first started on DAYS. I appreciate that he likes to use the veteran actors and tries to incorporate history at times. I loved the introduction of Gwen (and Cady as Jennifer!) but then it went off the rails with Laura being killed (WTF?) and Gwen not being developed for long-term. It would have been so good to have a Abby and Gwen rivalry that went on for years which would have kept Jack and Jenn tied to story...but I digress. The things that finally turned me off the show were: 1. All the false conflict started by mask wearing. It was so stupid and just a lazy way to try and create conflict. It also made all the characters involved look like idiots. Don't even get me started on Marlena, Kayla, and Kate being "put on ice." 2. RC doesn't seem to understand that the Dimeras worked better in small doses. They came in and caused some conflict at times which worked, but under his writing, they have eaten the show to the detriment of other families we actually cared about (Hortons, Bradys, Carvers). Do we really need characters such as Stefan, for instance??? Chad works because of the actor that plays him, and that character should just be used as a contrast to EJ. We don't need all of the others. Kristen is a cartoon at this point. Johnny has never been really developed as a character. The only Dimera I would advocate for adding would be Theo as a Carver/Dimera. There's a lot of possibility there to have a character torn between two very different worlds as Lexi was also. 3. The dismantling of the Hortons also turned me off. To me, they've always been the heart of the show since I watched it as a child. But, now hardly of them are around anymore. Who's left at this point? Julie who pops up on occasion? Sarah who rarely leans into being a Horton? Maggie who's being written as more of a Kiriakis at this point? RC wrote out soooo many characters who have some Horton roots....Abby, JJ, Allie, Lucas, Will, Hope, Jennifer, Eli, Shawn, Ciara, Claire. 4. The obsessive need to make certain characters work that aren't working...looking at you Alex and Leo. Those two have taken up SOOOOO much airtime that could be spent on developing much more interesting characters and stories.
  24. I think British soaps, such as Hollyoaks, are much better at this. They will drop a character whose story has stalled in a blink of an eye and bring in new blood. There's been a definite lack of building up new, younger characters on ALL the shows as other have mentioned. The result is that the shows are not changing with the times. It doesn't mean you drop all your legacy characters, but you give newer characters the same amount of screentime and development to balance it out. I loved the comment about Y&R being anything but young. It's so true, and what does that mean for its future? The show should be renamed The Old and the Tired. Almost everyone is over 40 and filthy rich. Where's the conflict in THAT? A character that I've believed needs to be rested for quite a while now is Ridge on B&B. TK is a wonderful actor, but the character is so self-centered, overplayed and not interesting at this point. Can you imagine how much story the show could get out of Ridge's death...especially if Steffy blamed it on Brooke for some reason? It could send their rivalry into the stratosphere, reenergize the show, send it in a new direction and free Brooke of the albatross that is Ridge. I also think Liam needs a rest. He, just like Ridge, comes off as a misogynistic a-hole that has bounced back and forth between two woman to the point I don't care anymore. On Y&R, characters like Adam, Chelsea, and Abby all need a break, too. They've run their course and are just on repeat at this point. None of them really serve a point. Again, decent actors but tired characters. Bring in some new and YOUNG characters who aren't a Newman or an Abbott. Those two families have intermarried so many times it's nuts (looking at you, too, Brady and Hortons on DAYS). I sort of gave up on DAYS after many years once all the mask wearing and sci-fi stuff took over. The show has lost a lot of its heart the past few years IMO. But, there are soooo many characters that I think could use a break on that show (Steve, Kayla, Rafe, Stefan, Eric) or just need to drive off a cliff (Leo, Alex).
  25. I so don't understand why this show is so obsessed with making Leo "click" for the audience.
