I actually really liked the Nathan/Melanie coupling and thought he had staying power as a character. I thought his departure was very abrupt, so I wonder if there was some sort of BTS drama.

And, the boy has got the booty, too!

Which is soooooo stupid. The Luna mess is so out of nowhere but still oddly the only thing interesting in a "this is just a mess" kind of way. The actress that plays Luna has so much potential, but they only gave her "perfect Luna" and "psycho Luna" to play...nothing in between where she could actually stick around. I'm sure that RJ is sticking around and will probably end up in a boring triangle with Will and some boring blonde girl.

These people flip out over kisses likes it's 1945 again...of the 1800s where a man had to marry a woman if he saw her ankles. Sometimes I feel like B&B is the least modern of the 4 remaining soaps.

Exactly! Why would Liam go to Finn's office AT THE HOSPITAL to talk to him about the Hope kiss. Liam needs a hobby! But, seriously, Liam, as a character, is completely spent at this point.

I've decided to just call Luna's split personality...Tuna. Well, one thing I can say for Tuna, she's more interesting than sweet as pie, perfect, beautiful, would never do anything bad Luna. I wonder what the end game to this cheesefest is as of now (before BB changes his mind to something else). I mean, if Tuna did murder two people, there's no way the cops are going to let her walk around town...split personality or not! In a way, it's kind of sad that we FINALLY get some sort of diversity on this show, and it turns into this. I am kind of excited sanctimonious Steffy will be stuck in a cage for a good bit. But, if Luna/Tuna goes, who are RJ and Will going to fight over? And, we ALL know that's coming! I wonder if we'll also be told that Tuna was the one that actually slept with Zende, and she planned it. I mean...they did destroy Zende with that storyline though. I'm not sure if even this would fix that. I thought RJ versus Zende had some potential, and they just went and shot themselves in the foot before that even got started.

I am loving watching the repeats on Plex! I just wish it was on-demand versus having to watch whatever episode they have playing at the time. But, I was beginning to think the episodes would never be streamed at all!

This already sounds 1,000 times better than anything the current four soaps are dishing out.

The problem with Luna is that she's just not a developed character. She's "perfect" and "amazing" as RJ says, but HOW IS SHE THAT? She has no flaws. She became the #1 intern at FC in like...a day. There's nothing that makes her interesting as a character. The character is just FLAT, and this is 100% the fault of the writing. We're just told we should care about her but not WHY? Why should we care about her? And, it's sad because this soap NEEDS a lot more diversity, and it's great to have Asian actors...but develop the characters! Poppy, too. I don't really know who she is at this point. Crazy? On the up and up? Who the hell knows? Does BB know??? Heather Thom is VERY wasted on this show. Maybe something will happen with Will, but I can see them just writing him flat as well with no real personality.

Cady really own me over during her run. I felt like she reinvigorated the character of Jennifer. I was really hoping they'd keep her long-term.

RB looks as if she'd pass for Ridge's daughter...not TAYLOR. She in no way looks to be of the same generation as KKL. It's such a head scratcher. Why couldn't RB have played a brand new character who perhaps had a past with Ridge? Can this show even TRY to do something original? We've seen Brooke/Ridge/Taylor 1,456,328 times! We don't need to see it again. I feel sorry for RB. I LOVED her on AMC, but Brad Bell will much this up so bad and she's so miscast, he'll probably drop her in a few months.

WTH??? This makes zero sense. If they wanted to bring back Taylor, why not try to woo back KA who was absolutely perfect in the role. Plus, no one is clamoring for ANOTHER Brooke-Ridge-Taylor story. Dear Lord, we've seen it a MILLION times. If they wanted to cast RB, why couldn't see have been a NEW blank slate role. Now, THAT would have been interesting. She could have played someone who was involved with Ridge during the time he was off canvas between RM and TK playing the roles. RB does NOT look old enough to be Thomas and Steffy's mom. If they keep getting younger and younger with it, before we know it, Eden Riegel will be the new Taylor!

Wow...he looks SO MUCH like his dad with a lot of the same mannerisms! The guy could actually play Nick in newly created flashbacks if they wanted.

I thought the SAME THING. Dude's picture was sitting on the mantle! Are we supposed to believe that Luna never noticed it, or Bill never showed it to her? It shouldn't have taken much for Luna to put 1 + 1 together to come up with it's Will standing in front of her. Poor Luna is not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. Bill's "mansion" looks like it's six feet wide.

I'd love to see Steffy and Hope in stories that gave them more to do than bicker with each other or fight over the same dullard of a dude (Liam, Finn...yada yada). Both actresses can do...and deserve...a LOT more! I am enjoying a feistier Hope. That poor actress had to cry in about almost every episode for....years! It's nice to see her do some fun things for a change. Watching the show today...I thought that Carter and Hope would look hot together if they could craft the right story. God knows LSV is someone else who deserves sooo much more than they give him! Katie needs a hobby. Being jealous over Bill again is a yawn. I still don't know WHO Poppy is... she's so ill-defined, but I'm hoping she is messy and a bit underhanded. Luna needs a edge badly. She's TOO perfect. I could care less who killed the homeless rocker dude and Hollis (as handsome as he was). It's soooo contrived.

I'm intrigued by the shooting of the show in Atlanta. Hopefully, as others have mentioned, it will hopefully allow for more SPACE: bigger sets and more outdoor shooting. The shows airing now feel soooo claustrophobic. B&B basically has two sets now...the two FC offices where people do anything but work. And, the homes are sooooo tiny. Bill's "mansion" is about six feet wide. Those GA tax credits and lower cost of living for cast and crew have to help the budget, too. I can understand why MVJ wants to surround herself with people who've done this before. It's a HUGE undertaking that hasn't happened in 25 years. That being said, I REALLY hope she hires some younger, fresh script writers (who can later promote) and who can add a different perspective on what can make a soap POP in the modern age. They can't just court the 60+ year old viewer who's been watching soaps for decades. I've been watching for soaps for decades myself! There's no long-term investment there, and it's not advertiser friendly unless you're selling Colonial Penn Life Insurance policies or Jitterbugs! Catching some of those all important younger viewers is going to take some fresh approaches. I do hope they get a BIG name for the cast...Victoria Rowell, Vivica, etc. It's be awesome if they were able to land an actor with a name who HASN'T done soaps, too. I'm excited to find out about more characters and the younger generation. I hope there's a least some LGBT visibility. I wonder (but doubt) if the premiere of this show, especially if it's a success, will finally force Y&R and B&B to step up their game.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if DAYS had Alice Horton's personality injected into someone else to bring her back from the dead like they did with Steve and Stefano. I don't know how any character on DAYS can take death seriously since they've seen so many people "come back" from it. Overwhelmingly, it's the worst overused plot device on that show. The runner-up is people wearing masks to create false conflict.

I would definitely say that the "back from the dead" trend was a detriment to soaps in general, especially on shows like DAYS, where people come back from the dead with such frequency that "death" means ZERO story wise. There's no point in mourning a character, such as Abby, because you know they'll probably be back. So, what was done for a story "shock" or to goose the ratings made the shows much harder for the audience to take seriously.

I wish I could say I could see B&B even being that inventive or daring. I like the actress who plays Luna, but they've written her as being so "perfect" it makes the character bland and uninteresting. She at least needs an antagonist and rival for RJ's attention. I think it will turn out she's not Bill's daughter after all, and she'll be in a triangle with RJ and the new Will. But, they still need a scheming upstarter to rival her.

So sad, but also not surprised, to read what she experienced. I believe social media instead of connecting us has just made us more divided and often alone. I see young people all the time consumed by their phones and social media...and they also seem more isolated, anxious, and struggle to connect with people in a face-to-face situation.

There are WAAAAYYYYYYY too many Dimeras on this show. Stefan seems very redundant as a character. Love the actor, but the character bores the hell out of me. There just doesn't seem to be a point to him. Johnny needs a new direction if they're going to keep him. I would rest Kristen for a good while, too. She's a character that works best in small doses to stir the pot. Again, I'd love to see them bring Theo on full-time and have him torn between his Carver and DiMera sides just as his mother was once.

ITA. One of the reasons I stopped watching cold turkey about a year ago is that DAYS started to feel like a PARODY OF DAYS. The mask wearing took me over the edge. They need to get back to simpler family based stories and romance. Give us a reason to CARE about these characters! Regarding Johnny, has anyone else noticed that he FAR MORE looks like he could be Lucas's son versus EJ. The same height and similar features. That could be a great twist and would upend EJ's life.

As someone mentioned, more of Los Angeles needs to be brought into the show. None of these people feel like they live in LA. We basically have three sets...the two Forrester offices (where people just have sex or talk about sex...is there an HR office in this place? LOL) and Deacon's Pizza Shack. It's soooooo claustrophobic. Hollywood is right outside their studio. Can't they do some budget location shoots? Even that outdoor gym set they had at one point made the show feel more "open." There are so many characters that need to be rested...looking at you Liam. Time to go! I would even argue Ridge is an albatross around the show's neck, and I like TK as an actor. But, Ridge is just sooooo insufferable. The show is set in LA and in the fashion industry, but the show feels like something written from the 1950s. Where are the gay people? The Latinos? I, mean, hello?! This is LOS ANGELES~ I know this is a 30 minute show, but there is still room for a lot more diversity to make the show feel modern, current, and now which could get more young viewers interested. Instead, we're getting recycled stories from a 1950s WASP soap. What little diversity they have...Walton (the sad sidekick) and Zende (the possible rapist) is just a disgrace. More than one storyline an episode! The show gets so hyperfocused on one story, and if I'm not into the story, I turn it off. Having an A and B story every episode would work to keep more of the audience interested. A true story for Brooke that does not involve running after Ridge's toxic ass. She needs to dump him and move on...OR...have Brooke and Ridge remarry and then he drops dead from a heart attack...maybe because Brooke had her famous "accidental sex" with someone. But, as a result, she inherits Ridge's part of FC. Now that would give Brooke, Steffy, and Hope something to really fight over. It would reshape the whole show with endless NEW possibilities. We need an underdog. Right now, everyone is SUPER UBER SUCCESSFUL. Even Luna became the world's BEST intern ever in like five minutes. Yawn. Where are the upstarts clawing their way up the top? Like, the "young Brooke" maybe Latina with eyes on RJ and ready to knock Luna out of the way. This is why the original Spectras worked so well. We need that contrast.

This is one of the things that finally got me to stop watching the show after many, many years....waaaaay too much emphasis on the Dimeras. They took over the whole entire show, and as a result DAYS lost its heart IMO, the Hortons and the Bradys. The Hortons are practically nonexistent at this point which I find so sad. So, so many Dimeras. Why do we need Stefan? Even Johnny? Chad is a keeper, maybe EJ, but we don't need the rest of them. Kristen really needed a rest. If there was one single Dimera I'd bring on it would be Theo. It would be interesting to see him torn between the Carver and DiMera worlds, and I always liked his relationship with Chad. I enjoyed a lot of RC first few years, but then I started feeling like I was watching Days fanfiction versus something professionally written.

No one ever works at FC. They just talk about their sex lives!
