ITA that KKL does not have the same chemistry with TK that she had with RM (whether he was the best actor or not). When they reunited Brooke and Ridge AGAIN after the promising Brooke/Taylor friendship that was suddenly dropped, I just shook my head. I feel like Ridge is an albatross around Brooke's neck (and Taylor's) at this point. The character just can't develop as long as they have her running after him like a lovestruck teenager, and KKL deserves so much better. I actually much preferred her with Bill than I did this version of Ridge. I thought that at least Brooke and Bill had some chemistry, and their relationship felt more "adult." Brooke should still be causing scandals all in the pursuit of her "destiny" and she should have a younger rival to echo Stephanie/Brooke, someone she hates because she reminds her so much of herself. THIS should be the character that is pursuing RJ, in my opinion, instead of "perfect" "amazing" "beautiful" Luna. At the least, this anti-heroine should be Luna's rival for RJ's affections. It may be a controversial opinion, but I think Ridge, as a character, has outgrown his usefulness. TK is a great actor, but there's only so much he can do with this material. Ridge is just a smug narcissist who thinks the whole world revolves around him, and the way the show is written...IT DOES. I think Ridge's death would have the potential to really shake up the show in a good way and send all of the characters in a new and different direction. I think TN is a suitable soap actor as Finn, even a bit better than Ronn Moss was back in the day. I know he and Steffy have a lot of fans, but he's just a little too "basic white boy" to me. He's handsome in like a Wonderbread kind of way, like we're SUPPOSED to think he's handsome because he checks certain boxes (abs, etc) but a real personality for the character isn't there at all. He's just a bland handsome doctor. You could pluck just about any soap actor around the same age from any of the shows right now, and that person could immediately play Finn IMO. The character could be interchangeable with any actor. And, now that it looks like we're getting Finn/Hope...yawn. Just when Hope was getting interesting by shedding some of her "good girl-ness." Even though they've ruined the character now, I think the actor who plays Zende....and also Carter are much more intriguing, but they don't fit the "white leading man" I think the show believes it MUST have despite a HUGE part of the daytime audience being AA. The Carter/Quinn story was the hottest one the show had told IN YEARS, but they ruined it and then dropped it. Now, poor Carter just pops up in scenes at Forrester to be told that he's "like family" and stands next to Katie at parties, which, I assume means they're still dating??? I guess??? Hell, even Hollis at Deacon's restaurant is more interesting to me than Finn. He should be pursuing Brooke...and then we find out he's Ridge's son from an affair he had with a model.

I'm always waiting for Finn to try and sell the other characters insurance. Again, the build up is the problem for this story. If Finn and Sheila had had some scenes together recently where they sort of bonded him being conflicted would make more sense. Although, I can't imagine why he'd be torn over the woman who shot him and left him for dead. I never understand this show's insistence on only focusing on one story at a time per episode. You get the main story action and then two groups of people reacting to it in other scenes. Like yesterday, we didn't need the Hope and Brooke scenes. Those scenes could have been used for another story.

YR: show gets 4 year renewal
While this is great news, the show desperately needs a new writer who will do more than endless "stories" about vague companies and people job switching.

Exactly as someone else mentioned...it was the build-up. The whole thing happened SO FAST. There should have been weeks leading up to this moment where we see Sheila returning to her evil ways, and Steffy pushing her even more. It would have made that stabbing so much more tense. Now, I assume Steffy will up for murder charges, yada yada. My prediction...this "old friend" that Sheila has been meeting with is actually the child Sheila had with Massimo Marone, and as a result is Ridge AND Finn's half-sister and Steffy's aunt. She'll be hell bent on "getting revenge" for her mother. I'm guessing this because there was also that recent casting news on a younger actress. I mean, it would make sense to bring on Sheila's daughter who is more of a blank slate, to stir things up, but the build up of this just came out of left field. This show either drags out stories FOREVER or wraps it all up in two episodes. There is no in between. Right?! The whole Xander thing went NOWHERE. What was even the point?

Ratings From the 90's
It's interesting to see the trickle down effect of when DAYS ratings would go down on AW and SB, and how it went up over the summer.

OMG...could this storyline get ANY worse? Zende's solution is for Luna to break up with RJ and be with HIM??? Really? Probably the only person who hates this story more than the viewers is the actor that plays Zende. They've completely written the character into a horrible corner. Also, if I hear the word "mints" one more damn time... Meanwhile, Hope's at the office making out with the dude who told her her baby was dead. This show is so misogynistic. Time and time again, women on the show turn to men who treat them like trash. How many times has Ridge tossed Brooke aside, for instance? Liam waffled back and forth between Steffy and Hope treating both of them like crap for years. I would love to see this show written by a WOMAN for a change.

OMG...I just couldn't with Hope today. I can't believe she told Deacon that she was tired of people telling her they had "changed" when they hadn't, and that's why she can't trust Sheila. Uhhhh, hello? That's the same exact same relationship she has with Thomas, the guy who drove Emma off a cliff and told Hope her baby was dead. The scene would have been so much better if Sheila had pointed out her hypocrisy. I do think Sheila's visit needs to wrapped up. There's just so much you can do with the character after all she's done. She should push Liam off a cliff on her way out though. It would make more sense to bring back the kid she had with Massimo to be the "new Sheila" without all the baggage. The whole RJ/Luna/Zende mess is a...mess. If I never hear the word "mints" again. Just when they started to do something with Zende and this actor for the first time, they give the character this horrendous storyline. There's no way he wouldn't have known something was off with Luna. He was just at a party right before pledging her love for RJ, and then she was waiting for Zende in his bed??? Not only does it make him look like a rapist, despite what all the characters are saying, but also an a*&hole for sleeping with his cousin's girlfriend!

Y&R: Former Actress Returning for Appearance
Killing off Hilary was such a boneheaded decision. She was the most electrifying characters the show had had in eons. I agree that Amanda never had a chance to really develop into anything. Does anyone remember Karen Spencer on B&B? Same story, same result. They had no idea what to do with Amanda and tried to make her "Hilary-lite" which just went nowhere. It would have been better for Hilary to come back from the dead in some sort of crazy, illogical plot twist.

Now, that would be an interesting and inspired twist. I love the idea of one of Gary Reynolds long lost children (or grandchildren) showing up with claims that Phillip Chancellor took control of the company illegally. Chance turning corporate was a real head scratcher. He was one of the few people on the show that DIDN'T have one of these vague corporate jobs. At this rate, I'm sure Traci will give up her career as a write so that she too can join some random a*& corporation in some vague position!

More boring business stories that take place at vague companies. I think all these random companies should merge into one big corporation no one will care about....Jabot-Newman-Chancellor-Winters-McCall-Barber...and add Sharon and Sally's random company. Then, everyone can sit around on one set and talk about the "work" they have to do.

This story is bad on so many levels. If I never hear the word "mints" again. It makes Zende look horrible. He had to have questioned why Luna would suddenly appear in his bed all of a sudden after she was all about RJ. It makes him look like an idiot and rapist. Horrible. Horrible. It would have been so MUCH better if Zende had realized Luna was out of it and just let her sleep it off at his place...with RJ walking in and finding her there.

ALL: Characters who shouldn't have died.
B&B... Macy. Killed her off. brought her back. Killed her off again. Caroline 2.0...what was the purpose of killing her? Y&R... Colleen. SOOOOO short-sighted and just felt plain wrong to kill Tracy's only child who could have also become a lead heroine.

Yes, her not even questioning Zende's motives was insane. Who wouldn't at least question it?? She barely knows Zende. Poor Zende. They're writing him into a corner with this crap. They could have told a similar but much less damaging story. On Poppy's special mints...don't even get me started on the mints...she climbs into Zende's bed. When he gets home, Zende is shocked to see her there just as RJ walks in on Zende and Luna trying to figure out how this happened. It would be enough to plant doubts in RJ's head about Luna.

Although I like TK as an actor, I think Ridge is waaaaay past his usefulness. If they killed off Ridge, it would open up so many storyline possibilities for Brooke (and Taylor if they ever brought her back). There are more than enough characters in the subsequent generation to fill any "void" left by this character. Plus, I find Ridge very hard to root for. He quite insufferable (like Liam!)
