  1. Just to take facts a step further, Pat Fili, who was a boss of Angela Shapiro at the time, rallied for Michael Zaslow to come back to OLTL. So yes, network executives most certainly got involved with his return to OLTL.
  2. Please stop spreading misinformation. JFP did NOT have to sign off on Zaslow coming back. Angela Shapiro did not need JFP's approval in order for it to happen.
  3. Ilene seems to be nice but I disagree with Fairman that she should have won an Emmy as Delia. None of my family, myself included, ever got into Delia and hated her acting. Go back and watch those early RH episodes. Sorry, Ilene. And I question her saying that her emmy nomination just disappeared. Yeahright. That was gossip not fact.
  4. Thanks @slick jones for always finding these interesting facts. This is my favorite thread on the board.
  5. Incompetent Joe Willmore killing GL. I remember Chris Bernau commenting on the Paul Valere murder. Chris said 'who the F is Paul Valere'?? Sheri Anderson and her then husband Joe Manetta doing a disservice to Guiding Light by tanking the ratings.
  6. Let’s just say that Veronica Redd will not be winning a guest Emmy anytime soon. Bad acting.
  7. Heather Rattray as Lily. Terrible recast. Couldn’t stand her. I was so glad when Martha returned. Even Noelle Beck was a better Lily than Heather.
  8. Fascinating 1991 ratings info Jason. You can see that the CBS soaps were "granny" old lady soaps. Advertisers wanted the young audience and CBS excelled in attracting anyone over 55.
  9. Joe Willmore was terrible for GL. One of the worst EP's the show ever had.
  10. The ONLY thing that I would ever ask Donna Bridges is to get things right! She’s constantly wrong (Frankie on AW appeared 2 years before Luna). “I was told” means nothing because you are wrong, mostly. There were no Jackers, Virginia Brown and Swajeski writing at the same time. Please post facts.
  11. Gotta give a huge OOPS to Donna and Neil. Frankie Frame appeared LONG before Luna on OLTL. So whoever told Donna, well. Consider the source.
  12. Brilliant cliffhanger today! Never saw that coming. Bravo Days and Ron Carlivati.
  13. Facts don't seem to matter with Donna.
  14. Ron Carlivati isn't going anywhere anytime soon other than to keep headwriting Days. Janet loves him and they get along well.
  15. I'm not feeling JP-L as Phillip at all. He's sleep walking through his scenes.
  16. I'm gonna blog about Maureen Garrett. I have audio where she says that her head never exploded over the Roger stuff and yes, she is available on social media.
  17. True, Maureen Garrett is a private person, but she is not invisible. And she is on some social media and is accessible. #facts
  18. To be very clear, Maureen Garrett has been asked about her head exploding recently and she denies that. Don't believe everything the blogger says. Maureen is very accessible on social media.
  19. @Errol Can you please remind Donna again not to derail this thread with her personal blogs. There is a wonderful thread called Guiding Light which would fit perfectly with her blog. Staying on topic, Ratings From the 80's, it really did take awhile for viewers to warm up to Doug Marland's ATWT. They had a spike here and there in early '86 but the ratings should have been better. The Doug Cummings story and its conclusion was brilliant. OLTL over taking AMC at this time; Days overtaking AMC. Santa Barbara's rise. Interesting time with the ratings.
  20. Ellen Wheeler, David Kreizman and Jill Lorie Hurst were the final nails in GL’s coffin. They pounded those nails in pretty hard.
  21. Easily the idiotic idea of Peapack! They should have just cancelled GL instead of making it suffer for another year and a half with Wheeler's inept production. It was embarrassing to the soap format to have characters just meet in a field and start talking. Worst idea EVER.
  22. Leo has been on the canvas for about 5 years now so their taping schedule is irrelevant. They've obviously read the feedback on the character during the last 5 years and continue to write for him. I'm glad Ron C. doesn't take your feelings into consideration. He takes my feelings into consideration and continues to write for Leo. Thumbs up from me.
  23. Santa Barbara was the first show to list their writers after the strike. The writers were listed by the end of August and in the credits, they said Welcome Back!!!! after the writers were listed.
  24. There aren't enough viewers to make this 'niche' audience profitable. It'll never happen. It's been tried and failed miserably.
