  1. Yes yes yes! Finally! Buh bye Stephanie. You will NOT be missed!!! Singing Ding dong the witch is, well you know the rest. Yay yay yay!!!!! Many happy people in soap land tonight!
  2. Pam Long the NBC soap killer! Texas and Search in the 80’s and Santa Barbara in the 90’s. Not a fan.
  3. Good lord. Stephanie Sloane was a nightmare! So so so glad she’s out of a job. A true nightmare. Not a nice person. Not surprised SOD folded under her incompetent leadership. Buh bye Stephanie. I hope you learned a lesson.
  4. Anyone who believes that Jensen Buchanan was clueless about what she signed is clueless. GH was her fourth soap. Jensen is known for making bad decisions. Not defending JFP here but Jensen was no shrinking violet. She knew what she was doing.
  5. The Roger crashing the wedding scenes were filmed in Another World's Brooklyn studio. GL's studio couldn't accommodate the swinging of the vine so they went on 'location' to another soap studio and the ratings paid off.
  6. Jason, I have a screenshot from another site from the April, 1988 issue of Daytime TV Magazine that matches up the ratings from 10/19 - 10/23/87. Remember that magazine dates were always way ahead, thus the April issue reporting ratings from October. I’m not posting that screenshot for privacy reasons. The ratings and shares for that week were: GH 7.8/27 AMC 7.6/27 OLTL 7.4/27 Y&R 7.4/28 DAYS 6.4/23 ATWT 6.1/22 GL 5.5/19 B&B 4.9/17 AW 4.6/17 SB 4.5/16 LOV 4.2/16 RH 3.0/12 And the 12/14 - 12/18/87 week from another source: AMC 8.2/27 GH 8.1/26 OLTL 8.1/26 Y&R 7.9/28 DAYS 6.8/22 ATWT 6.7/22 GL 5.9/19 B&B 5.3/18 SB 5.2/17 AW 5.1/17 LOV 4.2/15 RH 3.2/12
  7. Greg is a sweeheart. I LOVE the Leo character and obviously so do many viewers or they wouldn't keep writing for Leo. And Greg was asked back to Y&R so they love him over there. Greg is great. He's fine and he'll keep doing fine on both shows.
  8. The notes that I have show that GL reran their 1995 Christmas episode on 12/25/98 and 1/1/99 was a repeat of the 7/16/93 episode that heavily featured Roger Thorpe.
  9. As both you and Jason have determined, yes, GL was definitely an original on 12/26/97. While I can't give you a synopsis, I can tell you which characters appeared in the episode. For GL only, I have an extensive listing of which characters appeared on specific air dates from 1982 onward. There are days missing when the vcr didn't record.
  10. Good riddance! That magazine hasn't been relevant in 30 years. Stephanie Sloane wore out her welcome decades ago but still managed to keep her job and decimated the magazine. 44,000 circulation? lol. Pitiful. Bye bye.
  11. If Janet doesn’t fire Ron Carlivati, she’s weak. She enabled Alaar for years. Hopefully she’ll stand up and take charge of Days. But, it’s not hopeful. Same old same old. Ron Carlivati is there to stay.
  12. Dee and Drake are on the don't make waves public relations spin circuit. Everything's wonderful. Janet Spellman-Drucker doesn't get a pass. She was there the entire time Alaar tortured that set. Spellman-Drucker couldn't do anything for the 20 years that Alaar allegedly made working conditions hell? She was the next person in line from Alaar so actors & crew must have come to her with their complaints. Don't expect miraculous changes, folks. She seems like an enbler.
  13. Too funny. Those who claim to not watch seem to comment about details of every episode they are not watching.
  14. Of course Iiene's gonna be there. She won't miss an opportunity. Not the greatest actress.
  15. Just to take facts a step further, Pat Fili, who was a boss of Angela Shapiro at the time, rallied for Michael Zaslow to come back to OLTL. So yes, network executives most certainly got involved with his return to OLTL.
  16. Please stop spreading misinformation. JFP did NOT have to sign off on Zaslow coming back. Angela Shapiro did not need JFP's approval in order for it to happen.
  17. Ilene seems to be nice but I disagree with Fairman that she should have won an Emmy as Delia. None of my family, myself included, ever got into Delia and hated her acting. Go back and watch those early RH episodes. Sorry, Ilene. And I question her saying that her emmy nomination just disappeared. Yeahright. That was gossip not fact.
  18. Thanks @slick jones for always finding these interesting facts. This is my favorite thread on the board.
  19. Incompetent Joe Willmore killing GL. I remember Chris Bernau commenting on the Paul Valere murder. Chris said 'who the F is Paul Valere'?? Sheri Anderson and her then husband Joe Manetta doing a disservice to Guiding Light by tanking the ratings.
  20. Let’s just say that Veronica Redd will not be winning a guest Emmy anytime soon. Bad acting.
  21. Heather Rattray as Lily. Terrible recast. Couldn’t stand her. I was so glad when Martha returned. Even Noelle Beck was a better Lily than Heather.
  22. Fascinating 1991 ratings info Jason. You can see that the CBS soaps were "granny" old lady soaps. Advertisers wanted the young audience and CBS excelled in attracting anyone over 55.
  23. Joe Willmore was terrible for GL. One of the worst EP's the show ever had.
