Such a great interview. This Alan guy though starts interjecting at the worst times though. I wanted to hear more about how they felt as black actresses on daytime, they all seemed up for talking in-depth about it. I wasn't watching when Denise or Camille were on but I loved Napiera as Bonnie. She mentioned one positive of P&G, despite the hate she got from some people for being the dark-skinned daughter of a white man and a light skin woman they just ignored it and kept it pushing.

Actually daytime doesn't seem interested in investing in any of their young actors. They give them all such bad, repetitive, boring material to play.

It's wild to think daytime has only gotten more racist while other forms of media are tripping over themselves to catch up.

No worries, I figured that's who you meant. And recreated flashbacks are lame I agree. Especially when we know how the actor looked during that time period. It takes you out of the story.

Do you mean Brenda Dickson? I think showing the old actor can lead to the same confusion, a lot of "who is that?" amongst the audience. I'd avoid as best I could and try to make the story as compelling without the need for flashbacks. I'd rather write a soliloquy with an actor recapping what happened than to show a flashback with a different actor.

Kim was on All My Children for a few episodes when Anna came back from the dead. She also did GH: Night Shift and (probably) Port Charles. Would those count?

I've had a running soap in my head for the last 20 years. It's about the trials and tribulations of the Douglas family, an upper middle-class black family in the deep south. It touches on class, colorism, abandonment, and a bunch of other stuff. And it's all in my noggin, haven't written a word down. I just add to the story when I'm bored or stressed, I'm mentally telling stories about the grandchildren of the original family members now.

In the 1/26/2000 episode in the vault where Rick finds out Little Eric isn't his there's a montage of Rick and Kimberly set to a song. Is that Adrienne Franz singing? It sounds like her and would be hilarious if it is.

Wasn't Jenny all of 18 when she died? Why are they talking about babies?! And yes, Adam is super creepy in that scene. The 80s synth is top notch though.

That's one thing I've liked about these classics. Danny and Chris got to be just a couple. Yeah that involved them recapping the plot a lot but at least like you said it wasn't all about their romantic troubles.

The original music is so thunderous and bombastic and most importantly, fitting. The new arrangement feels like an afterthought.
