  1. JG seems to have kept his darkness impulses to rehashing Adam/Billy/Delia .... and then just Adam/Billy... over and over and over. (Although he did throw his darkness stuff into Stitch last year, which made no sense.) Things seem to have shifted away from Adam/Billy in the past two weeks, not sure why.
  2. 28 January: Voiceover announcement: "The role of Marshall Ashford is being temporarily played by Damien Leake."
  3. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (nephew to the late President John F. Kennedy). Twenty years ago, RFK Jr did great work as an environmentalist activist to protect rivers. Somewhere along the way he became delusional and anti-vax. He claims that his foundation is to protect children, but it spouts nonsense. He's known as one of the worst offenders on Facebook spreading COVID disinformation. It's a shame. He had a good name and reputation, and now he just ruins things, and his followers don't realize that a good man can go very very wrong. Yeah he said that about Anne Frank. Disgusting.
  4. It hasn't been stated that they're recasting Hope. There was a blind item in SOD (could be for any of the four US soaps) "One show is on the active hunt to recast a major character who has been off the canvas". Some of the guesses are Hope on Days, or Lucky on GH. Or maybe Summer or Kyle on Y&R. Or Thorne on B&B. That was just a few of the guesses. Could be anyone. The full list of blind items is here: https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/60456-sod/
  5. I agree totally. I was just trying to reply to the other poster's suggestion that the show needs drama. As I said, their suggestion could work with expert writing, but we don't have that. And we just don't need rape storylines. Period. For anyone. Plus the only reason the show is using Noah is to further CBS's seeming agenda to unGay Tessa. So yeah that's a HUGE no. Also, I will add.... Bianca getting raped by Michael Cambias on AMC was bad enough. I don't need to see that again.
  6. I totally get that you want to see *something* (anything!) happen on this boring show but ... Tessa has clarified more than once that she dated Noah only to grift money from him so that she could use the funds to help her sister. She's emphatically stated several times (both to Theo and to Mariah) that she's gay and not into men. Previous liaisons with men never felt right. She has stated that she's gay and not bi. This current storyline with Noah is just the show trying to push a narrative that Tessa is bi. CBS is like, okay we'll let the lesbians get engaged but not really. I'd just rather Noah be given something else to do or someone else to fixate on. I mean of course Teriah needs conflict to keep things interesting -- but let it be something about whatever teenager they adopt? And I mean ACTUAL tension, not just a coffeeshop convo. ---------------- editing later to add this: I mean, under good writers, they could have Noah try to attack Tessa, and then Sharon steps in to stop him and shoots him or hits him with fireplace poker. Sharon is forced to choose between her beloved son Noah and her beloved daughter-in-law Tessa ... then Sharon makes the right choice and defends Tessa. Noah could die or be hospitalized, everyone would be traumatized. Mariah would feel bad for her brother but grateful for her mother. And Sharon would seek counseling so that she keeps her mental health on track. With good writers, it could be done well. If they did it with the messaging that if a woman says she's gay, then no man should ever try to change that. And of course message that sexual assault is always wrong. And have good writing and nuanced characterizations, and lots of drama. But the problem is, Josh Griffith likes to write twisted villains, murderers, rapists and criminal cabals (see the novels he's written). He likes to energize the dark side without bringing in the light. Remember on Days when he made all the teens into a rapist, an attempted murderer, thieves, vandals, etc etc, AND he had the serial killer plot going at the same time. Not mention his unending fixation with Adam/Delia/Billy on Y&R. He'd have us sucked into Noah/Tessa for years. So that's a big no. That's why I like "This is Us" -- there's plenty of darkness and angst but the Light always wins eventually. And you don't know how the Light will win, it's a surprise, but it does.
  7. Love Eric Braeden calling out RFK Jr's disgusting words. (meanwhile last month Ingo took a picture of himself with RFK Jr)
  8. Kathy Griffin quoted a tweet from "accuracyinmedia" about Manilow, but that tweet has since been deleted. Update via "showbiz411" "There was some talk of other artists joining in with Young, but so far no one has taken a side. A rumor started that Barry Manilow, of all people, was pulling his music off the streamer in solidarity with Young. But Manilow never said a word, and no one knows where that started. Plus, Manilow sold his catalog in 2020 to Hipgnosis Music. He probably doesn’t have the right to yank it anyway." https://www.showbiz411.com/2022/01/28/morning-report-spotify-stock-actually-recovers-after-neil-youngs-exit-barry-manilow-has-not-pulled-out
  9. New research shows who might be more likely to get "long COVID" From researchers in Zurich: ttps://www.theguardian.com/society/2022/jan/25/doctors-find-antibody-signature-long-covid source of the Guardian article: the science journal "Nature" https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-021-27797-1 From researchers in Seattle and Stanford: New York Times article reprinted without firewall by the Seattle Times: https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/new-research-hints-at-4-factors-that-may-increase-chances-of-long-covid/ Source of the Times article: the scientific journal "Cell" https://www.cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092-8674(22)00072-1 These seem to be two separate studies, whose results were released the same week.
  10. Sorry, I should have clarified. I was speaking for myself, as a heavy woman viewer. And yes I agree that any viewer can appreciate seeing representation, even if the viewer is not a member of the group being represented. As a viewer, I appreciate seeing a wide variety of humanity being represented on the shows I watch.
  11. I thought you were giving an article summary. It took me a minute to realize you were kidding. The show has been that dull. There have been so many episodes that were exactly what you described. Sigh.
  12. Yeah. that. There have been very few populer soap couples where the woman was heavy and the man was hot for her just as she was. On Days, there was Nancy and Craig. On OLTL, there was Marcie Al/Michael. I'm talking major characters and not occasional recurring background characters. Nancy and Craig were popular contract characters back in the day. I know that heavy women viewers appreciated the representation.
  13. oh yeah the Teriah storylines have been dull and stupid. And then they were used to service the entitled Abby-baby storyline. I have to give Camyrn and Cait credit for trying - when all the stuff they're given is so dreadful. Coming up next, week, Sharon throws Teriah an engagement party but Noah continues to mope about Tessa. Dude, she's gay. Go away.
  14. Monday Jan. 31 through Thurs. Feb. 3: regular broadcast of Days episodes. Yes, Thurs. Feb. 3rd is last airdate before the break. Friday Feb. 4 through Friday Feb. 18: preempted for the Winter Olympics. Monday February 21: Regular broadcasts resume. The Feb. preview article didn't state how much of all that airs before the Olympics and how much airs after.
  15. I expect and understand a wide variety of opinions (from love to hate) about any character or pairing, of course. As it should be. The debate makes it fun, LOL. I can't take this too seriously. Just curious if there are any other Teriah fans on this board besides me?
  16. I think Tripp has such a dull vanilla personality and I can't imagine anyone being interested in him. The only time he wasn't dull was when he was a horrible person holding a knife to Kayla's throat, and I don't want that Tripp either.

  18. NEW: Week of Jan 24, 2022. Mariah proposes to Tessa! Yes Mariah already accepted Tessa's proposal. But now Mariah wants Tessa to experience being proposed to. Here is a sneak peek: https://ew.com/tv/young-and-the-restless-mariah-tessa-proposal/
  19. update: I edited the first post of this thread to add a video clip of Mariah's response to Tessa's proposal (from week of Jan 17th)
  20. breaking: US Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announced his retirement.
