Yep. Paula/Jeanne have taken us on a strange ride. They started off really strong, got a little boring, got strong again during the build up to the 60th anniversary, and then just went on the decline post-anniversary until Noel Maxam showed up lol but there's still some work to be done

Exactly! There was already plenty of storyline for all of these character. This didn't need to happen. Plus, Theo was a really good dynamic in the Gabi/Philip storyline, and Lexie's return pretty much derailed it for him.

JJ!!!! And we were just talking about him 😂😂 Also looking forward to seeing Javi and his new bf, even though I'm not sure why Days spent more money that they supposedly don't have on casting and creating a new character, instead of just having the bf be Mark or Aaron. Or Dimitri 😍 And definitely looking forward to Marlena's scenes on Friday Overall, it looks like a good week.

Happy (early) 40th Anniversary, Mary Beth Evans! Today was a love letter to Kayla, Steve, their life together and their family. It's always great to get episodes like this that pay tribute to the actor, character and their history on the show. The flashbacks only make these episodes better. I'm so glad that we got to see clips of Steve and Kayla's weddings, their time with Benjy, and Stephanie's and Joey's births. They were also really sweet and dorky throughout the episode as well. And so were Stephanie and Alex, even though I hope that the conflict for them isn't over yet and continues for a very long time. I like that Roman was included in today's episode too. Too bad that we're not going to see Joey and Tripp though. Or Tripp and Wendy's wedding. And welcome back, Jack! It would be nice if you got to have scenes with your son too. I thought that he did a good job today, but having him spend most of the episode with Gwen wasn't a good idea. Regardless of Gwen, he played such a big part in Kayla and Steve's history that he should've spent more time with them. The little scene at the end was ok, but it should've gone on longer. Xander/Gabi didn't really fit in with the rest of the episode, but I thought they both did a good job today. And I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens in this storyline, especially since Gabi thinks Theo was the one that ratted her out to Philip.

Seriously, Lucas needs to knock this guy out. I roll at my eyes at this part of the storyline more than anything.

There were a few wrong choices today. Lexie and Paulina's meeting showed us the first wrong choice. Unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed by it. Lexie being so standoffish and combative is just not a good idea. Whether it's an actor choice or a writer choice, idk, but either way, it's not working. And I don't think it's ever going to, unless it's going to end up playing into the storyline somewhere down the line. I've never been a huge fan of Paulina but I was on her side today. But I did kind of like how it was juxtaposed against Theo confessing to Abe that Paulina knew about Lexie. That reveal could lead to something interesting happening. James Reynolds continued to do a good job though. Anna being the one to expose Gabi's secret to Philip was the wrong choice as well. It seemed very sudden and random and not built up well at all. Tony possibly stepping in as CEO as Dimera being the thing that prompted Anna to do it wasn't a good enough reason either. Maybe if they had had a bigger part in the storyline from the very beginning, I could get behind it, but with the way the story was written, I'm not a fan of how this reveal happened. I really, really think Theo should have been the one responsible for exposing Gabi, either intentionally or unintentionally. That's where the storyline really is, plus you could get a lot more future story from that. But I did like Philip's confrontation with Gabi, and I wish it had gone on a little longer. Hopefully, the fallout of this will continue in a later episode. As for Gwen/Xander/Gwen... ehhhh. It was ok 😂

I don't get it either. Sometimes, I think that it all really does just boil down to writer/producer preference, regardless of what fans are hoping for. It was so obvious under Ron, and it starting to seem obvious under Paula/Jeanne as well. And that's too bad, especially when there's tons of story opportunities for each character. Piggybacking off my last comment to say, a time when Casey Moss/JJ was front and center 😂

Finally, Chad and Belle had their date! The pacing's been a little off with this storyline (and a lot of the storylines actually) but I'm glad that their date finally happened. Their scenes were nice but I didn't really see any explosive chemistry between them. They came off more like good friends as opposed to a potential couple. I wouldn't mind Days going there with Chad/Belle though. I'd like to see whatever may or may not happen between them play out onscreen, and if a stronger chemistry develops between the two of them. Hopefully, their "relationship" ends up being tied to other characters as well, especially after that little exchange that they had with EJ/Cat at the end. And yeah, with all that talk about Lexie being alive, and the pod, they really should've talked more about John. I enjoyed Gabi/Liam today as well. Gabi's offer to Liam adds another interesting beat to this storyline, and I think that it helped further build Liam's character. I don't think he's gonna leave town though, but I am interested in seeing what happens for him and Ari now, and how Ari's gonna react when she finds out about Gabi's offer. Holly cautioning Ari about Liam, and saying that he reminds her of Doug III was a good idea as well. Sarah/Amy were ok. I like that Sarah wasn't able to convince Amy to drop her animosity towards Holly though. That could lead to something good happening. Hopefully, that "something" involves Jason too 😉😂😂 Btw, I also hope they put that dock set to good use during the Summer.- BTG: May 2026 Discussion Thread
Donnell and Samantha would've been the perfect choice. Him showing up just in time to escort her was one of my favorite moments of yesterday. And agreed, about the other families. BTG does need another onscreen family, but writing them just as campy clowns with no purpose other than to make the Duprees look good isn't the way to go.- DAYS: May 2026 Discussion Thread
Hmmm... interesting https://parade.com/tv/this-daytime-emmy-winning-soap-writer-just-debunked-a-major-untrue-rumor Or why they seemed to have given up on a talented, handsome actor like Casey Moss, in general. He could totally be a part of everything going on with Philip/Gabi/Theo, especially if they end up bringing Joy and her drama into it somehow. Plus, JJ's still going through problems stemming from the shooting. Introducing that beat into the storyline would add more layers and dynamics to everything. As for Tyler, I do think his portrayal seems more realistic than the other Theo's were, but I see what you mean.- DAYS: May 2026 Discussion Thread
They "fell in love" too quickly, right? I always felt like the jump from Gabi and Philip just sleeping together to being in love happened without any real growth or buildup onscreen, but I wasn't sure if other fans felt that way or if it was just me lol I like them together but I don't see them as an endgame couple and I probably wouldn't see that with Gabi and Theo either. Theo still had the most chemistry with Marissa Reyes' Ari, IMO. That could've been a good messy storyline.- DAYS: May 2026 Discussion Thread
Another Lexie/Dimera-centric episode. And honestly, I didn't think this one was as bad as some of the other ones were. It didn't seem as boring to me lol. I'll never be a fan of this storyline, but there were actually a lot of good scenes in it today. It was nice seeing Lexie and Kayla have scenes together, and get all caught up. I think they were friends back in the 80s, I can't remember. I have mixed feelings about Lexie being so anti-Paulina from the start though. I don't know if that's the right choice for this storyline. But I am a little interested in seeing Lexie and Paulina's first meeting. Btw, congratulations Tripp and Wendy! Too bad we can't get another season of Beyond Salem to see their wedding. 😂😂 Abe and EJ going head to head was good as well. I liked seeing Abe lay down the law to EJ about Theo, Lexie and Paulina. It's a very good use of the character. Theo, not knowing about Stefano's part in Lexie's "death", or that Abe conspired with EJ to get him to step down as CEO might lead to something good happening at some point. Speaking of Theo, I'm not really shipping him and Gabi together, but I do kind of like the two of them being involved in the same storylines. I don't mind the harmless flirting. And now that he's met Joy, I wonder if that's going to end up meaning something. I wouldn't mind all these storylines being tied together in one big mess. As for Stephanie and Alex, hopefully their scenes today don't mean that the conflict between them is over. I was starting to enjoy Stephanie being all mean and selfish lol- GH: Former AMC actor joins show....

Welcome to GH, Jonathan Bennett! 😊😊😊 I wish your intro had been a little bit better though. I've always liked Curtis, but he's been a royal pain in the ass lately. It's too bad that any new character could get introduced like this lol. But I am interested in the idea of Curtis' snooping being the catalyst that causes everything to unravel with Rocco. That could lead to something good happening for every character involved in this. I felt really bad for Emma but having everything with Anna take place off screen feels weird. Maybe they should've waited until Finola was filming again to have Anna do all that stuff. Btw Joss, his name is Cassius, not Cashis 😂😂- DAYS: May 2026 Discussion Thread
It's something, at least I'm glad that they have chemistry, and if this keeps Kristen away from Brady, I'm all for it. It's just Kristen 😂- GH: Former AMC actor joins show....

Also, @Michael another thing that seems to have shifted under Noel Maxam is that Days is (or at least tries to be) sexier now. Today’s episode reminded me of that 😂😂😂- DAYS: May 2026 Discussion Thread
A long one today. 44 minutes. I still don't have much of an interest in Kristen's plan and her offer to Xander, but I have to admit, that they do have chemistry. And Xander looked really hot today. Paul Telfer's sex appeal is mind boggling 😍😍😍 I still don't know about a Kristen/Xander pairing though. It's better than Xander/Gwen but not by that much. Kristen is played out and needs a nice long rest off screen. Honestly, she's even more played out than Gwen. The fact that her storylines are just basically the same old revenge plot again and again proves that, IMO. And Xander needs to be paired with someone that Sarah can actually get jealous over, which in turn causes conflict between her and Brady and ultimately leads her back to Xander. And that someone is certainly not Kristen or Gwen. And speaking of Gwen, her and Leo were a waste of time, as always Lani and Joy was a surprise though, even though there were too many references to that B&S abomination, for me. It was actually nice to see Joy have scenes with another character that has no association with Alex and Stephanie. I wouldn't mind the two of them forming a friendship, with Joy being there for Lani about Chanel and Paulina, and Lani being there for Joy about Alex and Stephanie. And, while Stephanie was a little douchy and selfish today again, I don't mind it. It makes sense based on the storyline. And finally, Alex and Stephanie are having some good conflict. Good conflict that doesn't seem biased in favor of anyone lol the only thing that this storyline needs, and always will need, is Jeremy. Letting him/Michael Roark go will always be a big mistake. I like that she had Brady to confide in though.- ARTICLE: First Air Date Set For Jonathan Bennett As Joe Fitzpatrick On ‘General Hospital’

I hope so. Everything surrounding Marlena and Stefano's presence should've been leading the show, last year and this year too, especially in the aftermath of John's death. And with any luck, we'll be seeing him again 👍😂 I'm sure they can find a way to further work him into the story.- DAYS: May 2026 Discussion Thread
I do think it's seemed a little less all over the place in the past few months, and that there's a plan in place for the storylines, as opposed to Marlena's dreams last year, which ultimately ended up being nothing. - DAYS: May 2026 Discussion Thread
