And there’s so much to do with Jeremy. I’ve been tossing out ideas on here since he came back lol but it’s really starting to look like they only brought Jeremy back just to have someone with the name Horton on the show. Which I understand, but he needs more. Any character would. And he needed a college aged son, to mix it up with Tate and Holly. And possibly an ex-wife or gf too. As for Peter, the crypt thing was a bust but I still can’t help but think that there’s a twist coming with him.

Ughhhhh. Dimitri/Peter Porte deserves so much better than this nonsense. The character of Stefano's grandson, in general, deserves a better storyline than this, and better than having to be stuck with two of the most unlikable characters on the canvas, even though I was totally on Gwen's side today, and am glad that she got to rip him a new one again. It's just that the whole situation stinks, which in turn, makes the storyline bad. You can tell that he and Emily O'Brien clearly enjoy working together but that's still not enough. All because Ron Carlivati was too obsessed and too ignorant. Dimitri did look really good in that robe though 😉😍 And yeah, Leo will never be the good guy in this storyline, regardless of how it's written. I also felt bad for Xander today. Paul Telfer did a good job again as Xander absorbed the news of his and Sarah's divorce being final. And I enjoyed him and Brady going head to head. Hopefully, their argument continues on Monday. And while I still think Bonnie writing a book is unnecessary, I guess we now know what Kate's agenda is by having the book passed over to Johnny and to Dimera, and I actually don't mind that. That could lead to a lot of story opportunities for him and everyone around him, and especially his relationship with Chanel. Btw, I still don't get why Chanel is so upset that her husband doesn't want her to get sick or die. That feels like the wrong conflict for them.

A little odd that the reveal happened on a Thursday because it, and Trina and Kai's part in the aftermath, was the perfect Friday cliffhanger, but I thought it was great and very well constructed. I never thought Willow had shot Drew either because that would've been so obvious, so this swerve is a surprise to me and I'm here for it! And I'm definitely looking forward to what happens next for everybody. Just please don't give Willow DID 🙏🙏 And if Willow's found not guilty, they now have the perfect way for her to get away with the shooting and keep her around.

Based on the interview that Paula/Jeanne gave as part of the spoiler preview, it sounds like they decided to tread water a little bit while they waited for news about the renewal, which I think was the wrong decision. There's a lot happening onscreen right now but at the same time, it feels like nothing is really building up for any characters. It all just feels so low energy. I had no idea that one could square dance or do the Texas Two Step to "Jingle Bells" 😂😂 That music needs to be dumped. Honestly, there shouldn't be any music in the Pub scenes at all until like the scene calls for it.

What the hell? So, Peter's dead? Just like that? I really hope that there's a twist coming up with Rolf and if it's going to be tied to whatever's going on at the lab. I don't know what it is, but something about all of those scenes today made me feel like there's going to be a twist. If there isn't, then Peter's return, after all these years, was just a pointless waste of time. And also, is a fireable offense. But I liked the way that Chad comforted Kristen over Peter's death. Once again, Stacy Haiduk did a good job. As played out as Kristen is, I appreciate that the writers have made the effort to try and humanize her, as opposed to keeping her as the heartless monster that she became under Ron. Hopefully, her talk with Rafe wasn't foreshadowing of her falling back into bad habits again. And I still think she should be written out though. Speaking of characters who were heartless monsters under Ron, I liked Gabi's scenes today as well. Luckily, it seems like that flirtation that she's been having with Theo hasn't been dropped and I'm looking forward to seeing it all play out. Overall, I think her growing relationship with Philip while keeping the secret of telling Tony about the fraud, along with the flirtation with Theo have been a little low stakes but I do like the idea of it all. Hopefully, when the secret comes out, it has huge ripple effects across the canvas, especially because it looks like they haven't dropped the idea of Theo and Jada either. I also enjoyed Philip and Belle's conversation and how they bonded over both losing their fathers. It was a nice talk that helped get a better insight of their characters and how they're feeling right now. And Days remembered that Belle and Chad matched on the dating app. Idk about them being paired though. I don't hate it, but I just don't know. When Belle/Chad were teased under Higley/Griffith (I think), were people fans of them? But Alex and Stephanie were just boring again, even though they were being stalked today. I get that she's afraid of the stalker, but why is she fine with the fact that Alex is basically trying to control her life? She should have been upset and gone to talk about it with her parents. Or Xander or EJ. Or even Jeremy. Which could then cause a bigger problem between her and Alex. There's so much story opportunity for this couple, and yet the writers keep choosing not to take it. I don't get it.

Finally, a day without Leo... even though today was a little ehhhh 😂 It was good to see Justin and Bonnie again, but this whole thing with Kate, and Bonnie writing a novel is just not necessary. I'd much rather see Kate in the business storylines teaming up with Xander to oust Maggie from Titan or to undermine Johnny somehow. Not only would that be a better storyline, in general, but you could also get more storylines as a result of it. As for Bonnie, Idk what to do with her lol The same can be said for Alex and Xander. The book thing kinda dragged them down a little bit today as well, but luckily that was somewhat corrected as the episode went on. I liked seeing the two of them at odds over Stephanie and her stalker. And hopefully, that continues. The effects of that could lead to something good happening, especially after this whole stalker thing ends. Not having the two of them at odds has always been a missed opportunity for Days. Having Jeremy play a part in all this could be really good as well. I'm also a little interested in the mystery of who was helping Peter during the crypt thing, and I'd like to see Rafe and Jada continue to investigate. I think Rafe's hate boner for the Dimeras should be used more in his storylines though. His obvious bias against them could lead to some good drama for him and everyone around him. Hey, if they brought Andrew back full time, that would be a good way to use him as well 😂😂 As for Kristen and Peter, I thought Stacy Haiduk did a good job again, but Peter's return still seems to be falling flat to me. IMO, that seems to be the biggest problem with Days right now actually; a lot of the scenes are good but the storylines themselves are just not necessary or aren't good ideas overall. And if the way that today ended means what I think it means, then his whole return was just a massive waste of time. Maybe they had the same acting teacher too. 😂😂

I don't think Michael's the shooter, so I imagine that there's a twist coming soon and I can't wait to see it! Rory Gibson continued to kill it today. You really feel the emotion with him whenever he's playing it, no matter what it is. Carly and Valentin are still as DOA as the ADA. And yeah, this is a nitpick but Liz needs to start using the name Webber again 😂 Won't work 😂😂 I feel like they kinda made a mistake by having Trina and Kai be at the scene when Drew was shot. I'd much rather they had been suspects. The two of them being suspicious towards each other would have been a good conflict for them.

Another long one. 44 minutes. I will say that it was a mistake to not have Marlena, Chad, Rafe, Gabi, etc. be there yesterday to witness and be a part of the confrontation but I did enjoy some of their scenes today. Leo, once again, proved what a selfish POS he is, crying more about himself and what Rafe and Gabi would do to him, instead of being more worried about Javi. It really is sad that Marlena got stuck with him. Seriously, this character needs to die. It's well past the time. There's nothing to even root for, especially because most of the times that he tries to be sincere, it comes off as fake. I did like Rafe and Gabi comforting Javi too, even though Al made a lot of strange choices again today lol Javi's drunk voice was a little annoying. Surprisingly, and despite the Peter Porte of it all lol, I was actually on Gwen's side today. She finally got the chance to rip him a new one. A chance that she never got when we had a head writer who was a raging woman hater, and I enjoyed it. It was definitely something that needed to be said. I wish it had gone on a little longer though. But overall, her and Dimitri finally going head to head was nice to see. I have mixed feelings about all the talk of Dimitri's inheritance though. I figured that Gwen would've spent it all already. And if they're gonna keep bringing up Dimitri's time in the ISA, they need to bring Andrew back, at least for a little while. I think that's a storyline that a lot of fans would rather see. I know I would. And yeah, maybe Dimitri could use a haircut too 😂😂 But Theo's finally awake! I'm really interested in seeing what happens now that Theo's going to be ok. This crypt thing kinda stalled his storyline and I hope to see it be kicked into high gear again. There's still so much that can be done with the character. Abe did a really good job today as well. Btw, Paulina was a little stupid at the beginning lol And, I'll always love Chad/Julie scenes 😊😊☺️ Choking to death? 😂😂

I would’ve had Dimitri walk in just as Javi and Leo were pronounced husbands. And right when everyone was clapping, they start walking down the aisle, etc., Leo looks up and sees Dimitri standing there. Allowing for everyone in the crowd to do the dramatic head turn back towards Dimitri 😂😂😂 Like I said on Friday, it could’ve been soapier

DAYS: January 2026 Discussion Thread
First off, I just have to say... God, Peter Porte is so handsome 😍😍😍🥰 From the very beginning, and despite my dislike of the storyline, he had me hooked. And not just for the obvious reason lol. You were really able to feel his heartbreak over the whole situation with Leo and also his anger towards Gwen. I just see it as more proof that he/Dimitri is one of the most wasted actors/characters that Days has ever had. He deserves so much better than to be trapped in a bubble with the two worst characters on the canvas right now. We saw this in 2023, and I worry that we'll see more of that now. Hopefully, I'm wrong though. There's still so much that they can do with his character. And so many other (better) characters that he can interact with, especially since he brought up his past as an ISA agent today #Dandrew And I'm a little disappointed that it turns out that the letter that Leo got was a lie. I loved that scene, and now, for them to tell us that it wasn't real really sucks. I still have absolutely no sympathy for Leo. None of this would have happened if he hadn't been a selfish POS, and part of me hopes that Javi and Dimitri both dump his ass. And that the Hernandez's beat the crap out of him. I did have sympathy for Javi though, and, despite my dislike of the character, a little for Gwen too. As for Javi's final scene at the end when he was breaking down... y'all have been warned 😂😂 Btw, poor Julie and Jeremy lol New Years Eve and they're sitting home playing Scrabble. Feels familiar 😂😂 I do like the relationship that's developing between them though. I'm glad that he has somebody to talk to about how he's feeling but at the same time, I feel they're missing the mark with his character. Why haven't Stephanie or Steve or Alex confronted him by now about their suspicions? Why are he and Alex not beating the crap out of each other all over Salem? Days brought him back with such fanfare, but he's really fallen down the card in the last few months. He needs to be used a lot more, and a lot more effectively. Tate and Holly were really sweet though. I'm glad that they were able to spend New Years Eve together but at the same time, they need a little conflict too lol but Tate did look cute in the beret that Holly got him 😂

At the moment, I’d say the biggest thing to keep an eye on would be Dimitri’s return, even though I’m cautiously optimistic about it. I’m hoping he’ll be used better this time than he was before. As for couples, I’d say the ones to watch are Johnny/Chanel and (even though they’re currently not together) Xander/Sarah

I forgot about Marissa Reyes leaving. Including the kids, that makes 5 recasts coming up this year. I'm glad that it looks like they're returning to Shawn/Jada. That couple had so much potential, and it'll be nice to finally see them both doing something again lol I really, really hope Peter Porte isn't wasted again either. As Brady/Sarah, I'm not against them being in a triangle with Xander. But I'm definitely interested in seeing what happens, and how Sarah/Xander ultimately find their way back to each other.
