GL never hit #1 in 1984. That is such a myth. But they did beat GH for 3 weeks. (Y&R was #1 during those 3 weeks) Unfortunately the Daytime TV magazine ratings snapshot missed those 3 weeks that GL beat GH.

Just a reminder that the handwritten month and year is the issue date of Daytime TV. They did not specify which weeks these ratings are for but we can conclude that they are a few months behind. Santa Barbara doesn’t show up until the 1/85 issue.

Getting back to GL, again, you post incorrect information. Jonathan and Tammy happened well AFTER Ellen Weston left GL, but you claim that Ellen Weston loved Jammy. Please post facts and not fiction. It has taken 20 years to understand why AW was cancelled but I finally get it. The NUT Donna Was fighting to save AW. Mickey Dwyer Dobbin was given a choice - deal with Donna or cancel AW. I’d have made the same choice, Mickey.

You guys are correct - the date that is handwritten is the issue date of Daytime TV. The magazine did not identify what weeks the ratings represented. We can surmise that the ratings are a few months behind the issue date.
