  1. No surprise. I have to catch up on the last few episodes, plus start ODAAT S4.
  2. Oh, that's tragic. I loved her brief run on OLTL 2.0 - given her poor material on ATWT, she was a revelation. Best wishes.
  3. Darnell! Where is Debbi??
  4. Tuc talks about getting the network brass mad for going up on the roof with Roger Howarth, Christopher Douglas (Dylan) and Nathan Fillion to take off their shirts and smoke cigarettes in the sun, in full view of the network brass’ building windows. HBS quotes Phil Carey: You can’t just sit on this stuff and memorize it through your ass. You have to memorize it!” Bob Woods discusses being fascinated by Roger Thorpe and Rita on GL.
  5. JdP is a pirate now. Monocle and long hair! Bob Woods has a gorgeous white beard. His first day: "Andrea Evans walks by and you check out her ass." Tuc got his job bc he laughed at Robin in his screen test when she resisted kissing him.
  6. I don't know about totally unbroken, but I first picked up much of ATWT near the start of Marland's run in late '85-January '86 a couple years ago after only watching random bunches of episodes before, and just picked it up again this month seamlessly. You get the culmination of the Doug Cummings story in February sweeps, the Craig/Sierra/Tonio drama with Lucinda, the build of Holden and Lily, the arrival of Meg and slow introduction of Iva, etc. and more. I'm still going. It's amazing stuff. Prior '80s ATWT with the Dobsons, Horgan, Bunim, etc. is a kooky curio to me atm but not my main interest now.
  7. Honor Roll Johnny has made a fatal mistake. @DRW50
  8. Jon Lindstrom's story on the AMC livestream about Bruce Dern living in fear of David Canary while auditioning for '60s TV was great.
  9. @DRW50 pls use the white courtesy phone and check primetimer, ty
  10. I think it's a story angle any responsible soap should explore.
  11. I'm no better, bc my ideal return for Erika rn would be playing Viki as a journalist of authority in a flashy town crisis storyline on GH. And yes, Erika has talked about Joanne Dorian's firing before.
  12. Not going to work. Lauer is still being dragged to hell and back nationwide almost 24 hours later. But you're right that there's an attempt:
  13. The irony is, all I knew Y&R for as a kid was Victor, Shemar Moore, Victoria Rowell (bc she was also on Diagnosis Murder) and the theme. I'd wager many of the general public knew about the same, but possibly with Shemar being #1 with a bullet. I knew he came to mind for me before anything other than the music. There was a point when it felt as an outsider at least like he was promoted as heavily as any major star if not moreso by the show and network. So it's beyond me that, clearly knowing what they had and being willing to use it, they still didn't have him fùck any of those white stars. AFAIK the closest any of them came was Phyllis, years later.
  14. @DRW50 Yes, the OP is real and yes, he's being crucified.
  15. I think she loved Cameron but was deeply bored with it. IIRC the short-lived pairing with David, something she and VI had wanted for years, was a condition of hers for her final return.
  16. They also failed to utilize it. I'm sure Budig would've played it, as she was desperate to escape the Ryan story.
  17. Wow. That is a line-up. Together Andrea and Fiona do very little press. I still need to watch the last one. Hoo boy, Tonja Walker.
  18. Watching what appears to be Lisa Brown’s debut episode from ‘85 has been a real gift. I’m reminded me of what I discovered when I first did a binge of several months’ worth of episodes from late 85-early 86 a few years back - like Gottlieb and Malone at OLTL in ‘91, Marland moved very fast. Emma came on when, in September of ‘85? Holden in October, Iva in early November. Meg in December or January to play spoiler for Dusty. And by February sweeps they were all about the Snyders, that farm family and Holden ushering in Lily’s sexual awakening in a storm. (Gottlieb and Malone moved even faster at OLTL - Cain Rogan was partly inherited and reinvented from the previous team, but they had Luna in September, Andrew Carpenter in maybe October, Blair as well, then by end of November or December Blair has already made a play for married Cord who then “dies,” and Andrew and Megan’s new relationship- while she is the happily married partner of an absent supercouple who married that same year - is already a major going concern.) What it indicates to me is ultimately, no one knows anything. Marland’s rules are ultimately just guidelines if the writing is there. He certainly did not wait six months to see if the Snyders would work. I remember his original bible floating around online, with a particularly brutal outlined story for Barbara and little Paul. How much of that bible actually came to fruition, and is it still around?
  19. tbh you don't need connections. Just do it with a friend and see what percolates.
  20. I seem to recall dc doing one of many informative posts about Sears and Haidee Grainger(?). That whole period is fascinating, but most of '90s LOV's turmoil and endless reinvention is to me.
  21. I took my first walk beyond my curb in two months through abandoned Beverly Hills over the weekend (masked, of course). Ain't touched [!@#$%^&*]! It was surreal. People are still mostly doing it right here. Other places, it varies wildly. My industry remains dead, but I'm most worried about friends struggling with their states or jobs' poor decisions elsewhere. Meanwhile:
