  1. Was John James always the first choice to play Jeff Martin when the role was revived? I wonder if Charles Frank was ever asked to come back.
  2. Heather Locklear, despite all the personal problems she's dealt with the past couple of years, seems to be the ultimate show-biz pro - the opposite of her characters Sammy Jo and Amanda. It seems she leaves everything else at the door and is ready to get to work.
  3. LOL!! I'm kind of sorry now that I didn't!!
  4. Wow - I never knew that about Kay Alden. Thanks for posting that 48 Hours episode - very informative.
  5. I'm joining the line of those who would like the link! You can PM it to me. Thanks!!!
  6. Ahhhh, the good old days of network MOW!!!! The ones Susan Lucci made always seemed to do very well in the ratings, too.
  7. No, I wasn't watching the show then. I wasn't allowed to watch soaps until I was in my teens. I like learning of the history of the soaps through the eyes of the fans.
  8. Speaking of John Dixon, how long did it take him to get over Kim? I know that while she didn't marry him for love, he was in fact in love with her.
  9. True story: when I was in high school, we had to watch one of those old Afterschool Specials in health class. Al Corley played the brother of the main character, a teenage girl who became addicted to the bottle. It took all I had not to scream out in class, "That's Steven Carrington!" LOL!!!
  10. The good old days when soaps really WERE about romance!!!!
  11. Al Corley? Yes, he held up pretty well.
  12. Thank you, sungrey. I'm just glad that they didn't just dump Maeve for a younger model.
  13. Wait till later on, when they spoof the then-current Clinton/Lewinsky scandal (which involved Meg's sister).
  14. Yes, Wendy, I'm so happy you're back!!!
  15. Henry Simmons (Tyrone Montgomery, 1997-99) was a guest on last night's episode of SVU.
  16. Henry Simmons (Tyrone Montgomery, AW, 1997-99) was a guest on last night's episode of SVU.
  17. It worked fine for me, too - my cable provider doesn't carry Retro TV at all (Cleveland area).
  18. Was Kimberley Simms the only Mindy to be paired romantically with Roger? Somehow I can't imagine him with Krista Tesreau's Mindy.
  19. Thank you, SoapDope. There seem to be a lot of contradictions about PSM!! But she still seems to have strong ties to some of her former co-stars. Not long ago, I saw photos of her with Parker Stevenson and Jean Rasey from a ND/HB reunion. They all looked GREAT.
  20. The show I remember Julia Campbell most for, oddly enough, was the short-lived A Whole New Ballgame with Corbin Bernsen, which aired in 1994-95 while the real-life MLB strike was going on. Thank you, sungrey, for the updates. The year started with the passing of Carmen Zapata (Carmen Castillo), who in a sad coincidence, passed away the same weekend as A Martinez's real-life mother. Then Dane Witherspoon passed at the end of March. Now Justin Gocke. So, so sad.
  21. Unfortunately, with no warning from TV One, they cut the season short, ending it with the episode about the Chi-Lites. When/if the Peaches & Herb and Rick James episodes will air, I have no idea. I had to look up on the TV One website (which is not exactly user-friendly, IMO) and "Unsung"'s FB page to confirm this.
  22. Thanks for posting that. Did you think Trish Stewart worked better with WGE or the Hoff?
  23. Sad news - Justin Gocke, who played the role of Brandon Capwell the longest (1987-92) and won and Emmy for it in 1989, passed away at age 36 on September 8th. http://avpress.com/obit-archive.php?obit=31897785 Here's what A Martinez said on FB: "Justin. This acting business can be a difficult thing to deal with for anyone. But especially for children." The cause of death, as per the Santa Barbara Home Page, as well as other sites, is listed as an apparent suicide. I couldn't find anything to confirm that. So, so sad.
