  1. Thank you!! I've had some really bad dates in my time (and my life has spanned MTS' entire run on Y&R!!!) - but that never happened to me. YET.
  2. I don't know - but didn't he introduce Nikki to his mother...who was in an URN???? *cue "Psycho" theme*
  3. Again, I wonder what would have eventually happened with Lee had Brenda Benet not taken her own life. Hers is one of the saddest stories I have ever heard. Her guest spot on The Incredible Hulk, which occurred after she and Bill Bixby had already split, is eerie when watched in hindsight. I just wish more of her DAYS work was available to watch, but at least there is some of it on YT, unlike with Stanley Kamel.
  4. Do you think it would be believable for B&B to bring Michael Swan back - even though all the characters he had ties to are long gone from the canvas (Sally, Macy, Kimberly, etc.)?
  5. Well, Erica AND Rachel were both created by Agnes Nixon - and Agnes had created Erica before Rachel (even though AMC didn't go on the air until Rachel had been on AW for several years). I just don't see Vicky Wyndham as someone who would go through that many men like Erica did, and I can't see Susan Lucci playing the nuances and maturity that VW's Rachel had. Then again, Agnes wasn't writing for Rachel by the time VW was cast (Harding Lemay was), so it's fun to imagine what might have been had she been writing Rachel as played by VW rather than Robin Strasser.
  6. I wonder if DAYS regretted that move in the long run. I know that Susan Hayes and Denise Alexander had set the wheels in motion for the Julie/Susan feud that lasted for years (and SSH didn't even originate Julie!), so who was Julie's main nemesis post-Susan and pre-Lee Carmichael?
  7. She would be a good fit if they decided to revive the character without Jaime Lyn Bauer. Plus, she and Missy Reeves already have a shared work history, where they were both on SB.
  8. Thanks. Speaking of Bennye Gatteys, was she really that bad an actress or had Denise Alexander just put so definitive a stamp on Susan that the audience wouldn't accept anyone else in the role? All I've heard were negative things about her once DA jumped ship to GH.
  9. Thanks for sharing these. I know that there have been rumors that the relationship between him and Susan Flannery was "fake", but it is interesting to read more about his life pre-Monk, which is the show which gained him his greatest fame before he passed. His character on DAYS, from what I've read, sounds a bit like Luke Spencer before there was a Luke Spencer. Definitely a character with a lot of shades of gray. I would love to see the plot about the tell-all book and his brother going ballistic on him. When Susan gave birth to Eric Peters' baby, was Denise Alexander still in the role or had Bennye Gatteys taken over by that point? I wish Corday/Sony would release a DVD set of DAYS comparable to what P&G did for ATWT and GL - especially with the 50th anniversary coming up next year. I don't think it will ever happen, but one can dream!!
  10. Wow, I remember some of these commercials. Those were the days, my friends!!
  11. Thanks for posting those. Interestingly enough, Ed Mallory and Mark Tapscott both guested on Bewitched in its first season, and Macdonald Carey guested on the same show in its fourth season.
  12. So am I. From the sounds of the article, this family was a very close-knit one. I wonder what she's done since her acting days since her last acting credit per imdb was from 1983.
  13. Thanks!! I never understood why she never had another major soap role after SB. Even though she never got nearly enough credit, she was one of the pillars of that show. She was outstanding as Sophia Capwell. I look forward to seeing her work as Valerie.
  14. Thanks for posting the article - but oh boy, are you right about the headline. With all that's been going on lately in the National Felony League, that was my first thought. No way would any publication, let alone for the entertainment industry, get away with that now. Apparently Ann McCarthy is a widow now, according to her father's obituary from 2011: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/postgazette/obituary.aspx?n=richard-a-leydig&pid=154028457
  15. Thank you both! You know, I never saw any resemblance between Susan Lucci and Vicky Wyndham (though a lot of other people through the years have) until I saw that picture of Erica and Tom in profile on the beach. What a great shot, even though it's not in color.
  16. Really? I hadn't noticed that, but then I have a rather small TV set.
  17. Who was the longest-running "Dancy" - both character and actor? Frank Telfer as Luke Dancy? How many Dancys were there - and which year was the family introduced? Was it '75 or '76?
  18. Have HG and MG done commercials since saying that? I'd guess no for MG, seeing as he's largely left the acting arena. You'd think Helen would be in demand for commercials during the RH era, seeing as she was playing such a strong maternal figure.
  19. Thanks for sharing!! Is it OK if I send the anniversary photo to Sharon Gabet? She posts a lot of vintage photos on her FB page.
  20. La Lucci's still got it! What year was that article from? I'd say either '78 or '79.
  21. Thanks so much for posting the feature on Judith McConnell. Outside of SB, I've only seen her on some episodes of AW posted from 1980 and some recent commercials (she was the pedicure lady in a recent Walgreen's ad). I've never seen her work from ATWT and haven't seen many interviews from her in general. She's still as beautiful now as she was back then.
  22. Possibly. About all I know about the character is that one of the actors who played him was Larry Joshua, the future (and now former) husband of Sharon Gabet on EON.
  23. The "Laurel Falls" wedding location is absolutely stunning. I can see why it became one of GL's most beloved nuptials. How long after this was Kristen Vigard replaced as Morgan? Didn't the new actress come in right after the honeymoon? Speaking of Kristen Vigard, watching these clips makes me think how she wouldn't have been cast on a soap by today's standards when she was a teen. For one, she actually had some meat on her bones. She also had very freckly skin - not at all uncommon among redheads like herself. But she also had that incredible red hair, sparkly eyes and personality. That was back in the day when casting directors actually looked for talent, charisma and training (KV was a seasoned stage actress/singer from childhood on) as well as looks. Those days are gone forever, sad to say.
  24. Thanks so much for posting those!! It's interesting - both Sherry Mathis and Rod Arrants wed their respective spouses in the summer of 1979 (Sherry on June 30th and Rod on August 18th), and both the Mathis/Lanning and Arrants/Estrin unions ended in divorce in 1992. About the YT clip, I don't know the story either - but I love Maree's hair!!!
