  1. Was Mrs. Banning still around when Mike Farrell took over as Scott Banning? I know he was in the role when Scott married Julie.
  2. That was the beginning of the end of SB. It was never the same without Marcy and then A.
  3. For those of you who loved Nick Bellini's confrontation of Karen Werner yesterday - you're in for a treat today. He digs in even deeper!! It's awesome!! Even more awesome, he puts himself out on the line to clear Matt of the problems with that meanie Nathan. It's really great and genuine. I think I am starting to like Nick more. Still, I can't wait for both Althea and Liz to get back so the fireworks can really start!!
  4. Another case of correcting oneself when live on tape: when Matt was reading aloud from the newspaper, he said that Nurse "Carolyn" Simpson was quoted before quickly saying "Carolee".
  5. I don't think so - at least, I don't remember them doing another one.
  6. Yes, Matt is blissfully oblivious to what Dr. Werner is up to. Maggie sure isn't - and as stated above, neither is Nick. For once, I was fully on his side. That speech Karen gave at the beginning of the show about a woman's place...I can't imagine that attitude wouldn't have gone over real well in real life at that time. Gloria Steinem was already well-known, and NOW had been formed not that long before in 1966. Of course, how much of what Karen was saying she really meant is up for debate, as much of it was obviously meant to rattle Maggie.
  7. I've read the book and it's unlike any other memoir you will ever read. The four Welch children each tell their takes on what happened and it all comes together in a sort of love letter to their parents - Ann and Bob. These are from the YT channel of Daniel Welch, the only son of the four kids.
  8. At what point did Lin Bolen stop being so hands-on with the show?
  9. Thanks for posting them - I'm glad you got them OK. I love Liz Hubbard's hair long in the 1974 capture. The cast of TD just had to walk outside their studios to attend that Emmy ceremony - it was an outdoor gala at Rockefeller Center.
  10. Thank you. I love the photo of the four ladies - I'm guessing that had to be near the end of the show's run. Didn't Lynne Adams play Amy before Jada came back and stayed for the rest of the show's duration?
  11. Those photos are great! Thanks for sharing them.
  12. I love Louise - and Maree. Definitely class acts.
  13. HA!! That vest does look like an umpire's chest protector.
  14. Another thing about Michelle Thomas - she looked absolutely healthy and radiant here. Who could have ever guessed that she was terminally ill?
  15. From 1965: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xyxi9_nbc-daytime-1965_news
  16. Promo from 1965: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xyxi9_nbc-daytime-1965_news
  17. I haven't seen this rare promo posted here yet, so here it is: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xyxi9_nbc-daytime-1965_news
  18. Here's an article about Louise King and her marriage to Peter Collins from last year, including a recent photo. http://scarfandgoggles.wordpress.com/2013/05/04/the-racing-drivers-bride/
  19. While Ruth certainly isn't showing herself as an ideal parental candidate, her husband isn't faring much better. What he did at the end of the episode would be controversial by even today's standards!
  20. In today's second episode, Margaret DePriest gets a couple of substantial scenes as the social worker, Mrs. Berger. Unfortunately, almost the entire episode deals with the rapidly falling apart Ruth. She even makes ME nervous!
  21. Thanks for posting that. The old promos are the best.
  22. What a nice photo. I like that shade of pink.
  23. Thanks for clarifying, MissLlanviewPA!!
  24. Martina Deignan's final soap gig was as Jackie Parks on SB in 1985. Gotta love those 70s outfits!!
  25. Those photos are great! Is that the same Larry Weber who played the Dancy father on TD?
