  1. In support of Julie's point to Chad, it just seems ridiculous to put JJ and Gabi's lives in danger in order to retrieve a corpse that he didn't even know was missing until a few months ago. I mean, what's he going to do with it? Go to the head gardener at the Dimera Mansion and ask him to re-bury it for him? Put it in his trunk? Bring it to the Horton House to put up against the tree? I assume this will lead to other mysteries about Cat's origin story. However, the setup is awfully weak. On the bright side, we've put off looking for the B&S disruptor for another week.
  2. I agree with @janea4old's advice on the videos. And I would add that a number of members have expressed concerns about posting links to an alternative video site that panders to conspiracy theorists and incendiary content creators. So, perhaps those posts are better suited for other social media platforms.
  3. Thank goodness, the WGA came along and changed the process. It is so weird to think that for years, writers were essentially given a budget rather than a salary. So, these creative guys had to allocate money to scriptwriters, rather than having them directly employed by the production (along with benefits like health care and social security). I recall Harding Lemay discussing a similar situation in his memoir. It is impossible to imagine a modern writer in charge of two soaps simultaneously. Especially given the intricate plotting of a Slesar soap. I realize they were produced by the same company, but the idea that Sommerset and EON were on different networks is an additional unique consideration. Much I like hoped that someone would be inspired by Lemay's memoir to write a MadMan-style drama about writing midcentury soaps, imagine being able to watch a dramatization of Slesar's pitches? We've had some series about actors on soaps, but I am fascinated by the interaction between the productions and advertisers. Also, how cool is it that PG Woodhouse watched Edge?
  4. I was actually thinking about this for a moment. Setting aside the fact that they live in an alternate universe where people age overnight, and children go to European boarding schools but never learn a foreign language, at some point Brent Douglas must have legally changed his name to Doug Williams. He traveled internationally, so he had a passport which required a birth certificate. And, his daughter was named Hope Williams, so he must have changed it prior to her birth. Now, this does not affect if Dougie LeClaire changed his name. But, it is not outside the realm of credulity that Dougie named his son Doug the III, in honor of his biological father.
  5. Nope, just in the preview. I think it is from his first episode with Bill in jail. BTW, is it true in Canada that they cut to commercial before the hourglass?
  6. Good answer. Years from now, I can use it as a trivia question, - "name the five cisgendered, straight, male characters created by RonC for Days?"🤪
  7. Given Wednesday's spoiler, I'm straining to think of a male character who RonC introduced that was straight, other than Bobby/Everett. Alex only sort counts, because (a) he was already an established character, and (b) he's had a threeway with a bisexual couple.
  8. This may be an unpopular opinion but, I would much rather watch a curated collection of flashbacks (like on today's episode) versus entire old episodes. The pacing of old episodes is always jarring, and it often feels like watching a long buildup to a joke when I already know the punchline. My ideal would be a couple of one hour character-based flashback episodes per year. That being said, how funny was it to see Doug with an ashtray in jail? Smoking just looks so old-fashioned in the new millennium, especially in-doors.
  9. That's exactly my thought (unless that's part of his con 😉) I had assumed he'd be playing Stephen's son.
  10. He was fired immediately (just search Michael Muhney firing, and it will catch you up on the whole sorted tale). And my point was that a legal hearing would have been a fairer place for both actors to litigate their claims.
  11. Not to be too incendiary on a holiday, but this is what happens when employees are forced into company mediation in order to maintain their contract status. One tends to think that if Hunter King was able to press charges, rather than just report him to HR, he might not be allowed to teach children. Because teachers have to report prior convictions, but there is no obligation to say why they were fired from a prior job.
  12. Either way, I hope it helped and lots of people tuned in to celebrate Doug
  13. @Soapsuds How many takes do you think it took each year to get them syncopated?
  14. I think today was a solid choice for Doug's death because I assume the parade brings a lot of viewers to Peacock, and it was heavily featured on the app. Although surprisingly, I didn't see any of the cast on a float, whereas there were at least four other obscure Peacock casts present. That being said, it was a really powerful episode. I appreciated the dramatic impact of Jack telling Julie (I can't get over how much Julie has shrunk with age). I'm happy Eli was there. And, while I share @AbcNbc247's disappointment that Chad left, I liked his interaction with Julie today. I also enjoy the chemistry of Lani and Eli. It such a shame that we didn't get to explore them more as a couple. But, perhaps keeping them offscreen allows them to stay together. It is still nuts that Lani is the only former felon in town to have any repercussions of their parole. Gabi seems to be able to travel, and never mentions a parole officer. Meanwhile, Lani (whose family is much richer) is stuck working at a preschool. Lastly, it wouldn't be DAYS without an allusion to it being an unknown time of day. It was light outside when everyone arrived. But, the Hernandez, Kiriakis, and the rest of the Pub crowd have already finished supper. While Julie is still setting the table.

  17. I heard that Stephen Olson is going to forge a copy of Harper Deveraux's will and claim to be the legal heir to Steve Johnson's part of the estate. 😉😄✍🏼️
  18. Yeah, I caught that, and I assume Chad is too busy with Cat. Too bad Bob-ette is dead, as he was the only other person we ever saw working at The Spectator. Although, we can rule out that gossip columnist was his third personality. BTW @AbcNbc247 , if this is an excuse to get Leo to go to the Horton House during the big event, I will concede that RonC focuses on Leo way too much....
  19. It was odd that we didn't pick up on Philip's cliffhanger from yesterday about ousting Xander. Especially with Alex leaving the pub. It seemed like he had new information, but I guess he was just referencing his lawsuit. Leo is ridiculous. He worked with Chad, who I'm sure would just tell him who Lady Whistleblower is currently. Overall, I'm enjoying the contrast of those at the pub, versus the Hernandez and Dimera clans. Although, EJ's devotion to his son runs hot and cold. I'm looking forward to all of the returns. Even though it will be for a sad cause (and they'll inevitably be too short).
  20. I think casting to blame for that. Michael and Maryanne were never played by very interesting actors, despite having an interesting history and story potential. Michael in particular was usually a bit of a drip.
  21. This cleared it up for me (from 1/3/2024 summary) @Taoboi Ava, of course, wanted to know whether Nikolas had killed Austin. And was he behind the offer to buy Wyndemere? No and no, Nikolas replied — and, to Ava’s own surprise, she believed him. “But,” he added, “even you have to admit we were both played by Austin and his boss that night.” But for the past year, I thought he confessed to the Esme stuff in order to avoid being prosecuted for Austin's murder. That's what I get for only watching during sweeps....
  22. I honestly thought Nikolas confessed to killing Austin...
  23. That explains it. And much like Marlena's signature blazers, Kayla seems to be able to find a shirtwaist dress in every color and for any occasion.
  24. Thanks, I got the Roman and the pizza references, but I missed that Joey went to Hong Kong. It just felt odd to have Roman absent from the episode. I wonder what Tripp does in Hong Kong? Medical licenses are rarely transferable internationally. Also, add me to the “JPL is cute” voters list. He makes sense as his mother's son, and I get the appeal. I saw him hiking Runyon Canyon, and he is surprisingly tall and slender.
