  1. The only thing I can take solace in right now is that I work for a company that will cover all expenses for travel and the procedure itself for women who wish to travel to another country for an abortion. My own personal stand will be to only work for organizations who have this policy in the future.
  2. I am [!@#$%^&*] devastated.
  3. Since 2019 - in her IG post she said she was recommded for the job 3 years ago by Dawn Steinberg, who I believe is the head of casting at Sony. https://youtu.be/kev-Uk_b9R4
  4. We don’t hear much about her, but Y&R won the casting Emmy last week and the casting director (Nancy Nayor) posted some pics on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ce_8aDYv1A7/?igshid=NmZiMzY2Mjc=
  5. MS actually put in work back then and didn't rely mostly on her ticks. I would definitely agree the early 00's was the most mature era for the character and Stafford's performance.
  6. Made it to season 7 in my re-watch, and I still hate what they did to Alex before writing her out and after maturing and progressing her earlier in that season. Deanna Casaluce was another underrated one who never really got her due.
  7. The show sucks, and Sharon is a shell of her former self that hasn't had one decent story, since what, 2005? But happy to see Tish getting some recognition (she stopped doing press and going to public outings a while back). Happy to also see Anita Dobson present this to her.
  8. Honestly, Ian had become such a ruinous and hallow character that I have no problem with him being gone. The problem is the show is filled with characters like that.
  9. Not that he's some great actor, but Lucas Adams deserves a better career than the one he's had.
  10. Similarly, Katherine never worked when MAB and team tried to make her everyone’s grandmother and friend. At her core Katherine was often a deeply insecure and miserable woman, to try to settle her in that type of a role felt like a betrayal, regardless of how old she was.
  11. One of Mariah’s (many) accounts of writing the song is hilarious to begin with as regardless of this suit, it remains a source of tension between Mariah and Walter Afanasieff - he specifically came after one story she told about it’s creation in the article below and isn’t happy when she tries to claim sole ownership of its creation. Estranged From Mariah Carey, ‘All I Want for Christmas’ Co-Writer Calls No. 1 ‘Bittersweet’
  12. While I don’t personally see any similarities, the song has always been a source of tension between Mariah and her former co-writer/producer Walter Afanasieff - their accounts differ on how the song came into being and who exactly was responsible for what. Mariah also has a history of being sued for similar things - much of which was settled out of court. But this particular case is weird and I have no idea why it’s taken almost 30 years to get here?
  13. For some reason this showed up in my Google news alerts, and I was a bit horrified to be honest… EXCLUSIVE: Notoriously private Knots Landing star Joan Van Ark, 78, is spotted running errands in LA - in first public sighting in over THREE years
  14. I hope the folks at Marvel are paying attention and ask The Duffer Brothers to direct their future X-Men adaptations in the MCU. The first episode of season 4 of ST is titled The Hellfire Club for god’s sake! The Duffer bros have also talked extensively about their love for X-Men in the past as well.
  15. The show's focus on Clare and Eli in latter TNG seasons makes my gums itch. Not sure I'll be able to make it to season 14 after most of the OGs have gone. Alli was supposed to be their new Manny in later years, right? Except, she sucks...
  16. I’m up to season 4 with my re-watch and just got through Craig’s bipolar episodes. I may not have noticed it enough back in the day, but Jake Epstein was/is truly gifted - he had a way of making Craig seem likeable when he was clearly a f.uck boy. He also brought so much depth and range to these bipolar episodes in particular. I saw him in a play in NYC a few years ago, he definitely had a ton of stage presence in that environment as well. Glad to see he’s steadily working.
  17. The new show will definitely be aesthetically different at least as I remember reading somewhere that the set was dismantled and sold off after New Class ceased production. Foe those who always wanted a long version of the song that played as Manny strutted down the halls in her studded blue thong, here it is. Cheesy, generic Y2K pop at its best, lol.
  18. It didn’t help that those college stories just weren’t any good or very interesting. I guess the same could be said for the adult group of Joey, Caitlin, Spike, etc in the early seasons when they tried to use them regularly.
  19. It's so strange that they've avoided an adult-themed spin-off for so long. Most of the original TNG cast would be ripe for a Thirtysomething-esque type of show as well. Ha, yeah, I didn't realize it upon my original viewing of the show, but that theme was used a lot for Sean. Another example is Sean's season 4 exit (9:05 in and 21:13 in at the end of the episode): What an unusual ending btw - he just casually break it off with Ellie, and then he and Emma have a lengthy longing stare as Jay drives himself, Ellie, and Emma back, lol? Even as someone who hates that Sean and Emma didn't end up together in the end, this was laying it on a bit thick.
  20. Or heck, what about the son Liberty and JT gave up for adoption? Surely that kid is now high school age? A little convoluted of an explanation would be needed, but I would be here for it. I think it could be an interesting story arc to have an adopted kid wanting to learn about his biological parentage and the circumstances of why he was put up for adoption, and they can hit us with the built up bang of who his biological parents really are. I've been revisiting the seasons focusing on the original set again for the first time in years (I really can't deal with too much beyond like season 7, I never found much of successive sets that compelling). I was already on the verge of graduating high school and going to college when TNG first premiered, so I always viewed the show with slightly "mature" eyes. Anyway, I think Sean is still my favourite character. I just think he's possibly the only one of the original group that seemed to have a real character arc and grow as time went on. Even though I liked both of his main romantic relationships (Emma and Ellie) for different reasons, I do think he and Emma are soulmates and I'm still very bitter they had Emma and Spinner randomly get married and still kept that narrative that they were still married when Emma appeared on New Class. I kind of hope this reboot fixes that and it's said she and Sean later found one another, but it probably will not happen. 😁 I think Sean was the only one who had his own theme music tool (though this was also often used for Sean and Emma's scenes as well). Like the below, which still touches my heart as they reference their first pic together from season 1.
  21. It was definitely time for these people to go. Similar to Kenan, I got real sick of McKinnon being force-fed into almost any and every sketch whenever I watched. I don't care how talented someone is, they don't deserve that much focus.
  22. Interesting read: Commentary: How Ellen DeGeneres won, and then lost, a generation of viewers
