5-15 And now...back to the A plot. I can't say enough about how great this week has been that I've been enjoying the fallout from the SilkPress/Eva reveal. I can't believe that it's been almost a week, and it is STILL going on. And they are playing every beat. And rightfully so. It's a strength to the story that this episode is full of mostly those beats with one (okay 2) C plots. I loved how this episode seem centered on dealing with the Bill of it all from his reactions to the reactions of the ones who actually care about him. And meanwhile, Kat getting a clue and connecting it back to the plot thread of Laura's accident. Game recognizes game. My way of saying I loved Bill vs Silk Press Sheila. They have great adversarial chemistry. And I loved that Bill not only gave the heads-up to NuTed, but already figured out that Ted had paid her off. A dumbed-down villain Bill definitely is not. And awww at Naomi walking in on him and NuTed. lol. Like father, like daughter cuz they both stay reading people. Also loved the scene of Naomi and Chels together discussing their feelings about their father in light of the reveal. It's so sad to see Kat thinking in the right direction and STILL took a wrong turn. That said...great to see the Laura plot thread picked up and Kat moving to get to the bottom of it. It's just sad that her strong disdain toward Eva is blinding her to the real threat. Makes her easy prey for SilkPress to manipulate and harder for Eva to get acceptance if people still think she's up to no good. Also intensifies their rivalry. Kat vs Silk Press Sheila was reaaallly good, too. The direction. The camera angles. The lines. Even got background music. And...HAHAHA I love how SilkPress Sheila reacts to the word 'crazy' the same way Sheila herself reacts to the word 'bitca' right before one of her catfights on B&B. Honorable mention to another SilkPress vs Eva scene where Eva avoids the gaslight and that Andre/Eva scene where he continues to be there for her. And speaking of the reveal...now that I've seen the full episode...I've warmed to NuTed a bit. I thought in the brief scene I saw on my busy Thursday that he did what I love when a role gets recast. The actor uses some of the mannerisms of their predecessers, but not do a complete parroting of them. And that I felt he pulled off well. It allows for the actor to slowly enter their own vibe to a role and make it their own. And so far...I felt Keith was still...Ted. Love the scenes with NuTed/Kat. But time will tell if I feel he will make it his own. The only good thing I can say about that Andre/Ashley scene...they both have gotten comfortable in their roles, and it was nice to see. I'm Team Dani/Andre over here. That said...I actually am loving the C plot of Ashley, Derek, and the apartment because they are finally getting drama. And I'm actually Team Derek though I completely understand where Ashley is coming from. Thankful that we got that phone call with her mother for her POV and background life. She really is not used to living with someone and what that is like. And it's relatable. But she's handling it all the wrong way. As for their overall place on the canvas though, I can't help, but think about what I said in the first week...they are just meta to me...getting the development...or lack thereof...that black characters get on other soaps...just in reverse. Awww at June saying that she just finds the picture lovely. I don't completely believe her hehe, but it was nice. The anvils about Eva's birthday...smh. lol.

You are not. I'm so happy that this storyline for Anita is finally showing movement.

5-14 Well, I'm glad I went back and started from Wednesday. I remember watching and reading the comments here. I figured that perhaps rather than what soaps usually do...have an episode focused on other plots while the A story has a day off and is in the background aka Thursdays typically...this show just did it on Wednesday. I still liked it because I'm such a biased Jazmen fan. And I like how the episode continued the various threads from the fallout from the SilkPress/Eva reveal (Eva v Kat being the standout and Eva's continued attempts to find her landing as she is in pariah phase), but I think the problem I found with it was that outside of the above, the show decided not to focus on any B plot, either so the stories outside of the above were C plots. I like Dani and Andre. I like what they are. I like how it has been a slow burn in the background. But of course, at some point it will come out or they will hit the next phase in their story. I have liked that you can see Dani still being herself, but Andre's influence is clear...like when she took his advice and basically parroted him to Pamela a few weeks ago. And she was actually defending her man basically here. And their pillow talk...mmm. They have such chemistry and such built in drama. And well-paced for a C plot. No story is good without some twists and near misses, so I was happy to see that Nicole...even with her dealing with her own feelings which was cool to keep the SilkPress storyline alive...almost figured it out. Yeah, near miss...always lets you know how invested you are. And I've said it before, but it's not like the writers can truly go to the well for the Dani/Bill/Hayley story right now. So for now, they can only be developed/explored through individual storylines. Dani has Andre and her growing business. Bill with the trembling hand as well as messing with the Martin/Smitty marriage seem to be his. So Hayley for now is the weak link. She so needs her own storyline. I thought she would continue to try to fight for her place in the community. She still might. But right now, her just following Bill around like an insecure puppy ain't it. And she is still talking about that honeymoon? Ha! I like the June storyline so far. It's something different. And we know I like the good guy/good girl couple of Jacob and Naomi. Because soaps still need good guys. And I'm not sure where it's going...though I love all of you all's theories about it. And that picture...another clue. Everything with Eva the Pariah is giving old school soap, and I love it. Cuz any villain/vixen/anti-heroine has to go through that uphill battle of being accepted when they fall or their schemes are exposed. And she is straight underdog. And I like how realistic it has been so far with some people being able to move forward with her and people being against her for what she did. Unlike some soaps *cough*Y&R*cough* It feels like it could go in any direction and that just feels exciting. And we still have so much plot to play. Laura's accident. SilkPress clearly won't go down without a fight. The rivalry between Eva and Kat. The potential split in opinions on Eva within the Dupree house...especially given what a lot of us think in terms of if Eva is a twin or was switched or something else entirely. And everyone is acting their butts off. And if they aren't, they are definitely growing into it. So far...it's all good. Loved dinner at the Martin/Smitty household. I liked they even kept the C plot with Ty mildly going. And I'm a sucker for a montage involving makeovers and/or hair. Of course, I have to mention the best (for me) C plot of all right now...ANITA!!! Great to see she's finally getting a story slowwwwwly going. Okay, perhaps even too slow for me. lol. But it has been building. But now to see it moving. To get some good solo Vernon/Anita scenes to see their chemistry on display. And then the coda with the phone call...so Sharon ain't happy with her. Can't...and I do mean CAN'T...wait to see how it develops.

And while I'm doing catch-up, it's good to see you did as well. And YES. This is how May Sweeps SHOULD be. A story climaxing. Another A story being built up as we did with the aftermath of the first A story climaxing. B plots being built up...actually moving and being interested in most of them...if not all. hehe. New story being started. And even the C plots are moving, too.

What? A nice little mini-marathon of catching up before work. YES, PLEASE.

And even then...you have to wait a couple of weeks to be sure he's actually dead.

Same. I love like a lot of the other characters she has so much potential and possibilities. I also love she is not a shrinking violet. And most definitely not perfect. Lol. Okay, I give you that. But I'm a horror fan so I ain't hating on her for being one, too. Well like I said when this story started...those kind of backrooms DO exist even now. The workers even run to get the gamblers food orders so they can completely focus on losing all their money the game. I appreciated Randy clarifying that the other day when Mona was asking him about the machines. Of course, that said...I guess the question is if we will see the rest of the casino. Same, but especially the bold.

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing him again. I understand. BUT...a start.

I agree. But Timon has chemistry with just about everyone but his character's wife. lol. I love the fact that Bill is so spiteful that he's messing with Martin and Smitty's marriage with what he knows. Most def. And I love every moment of it with her Blair Waldorf coded self. I'm sure it will loop back around to the triangle soon enough. I had a different theory on who Hayley is related to, but if her and June turn out to be related I wouldn't mind. Hayley definitely needs something to do other than stalk her husband.

Omg...the way that Bill is manipulating Smitty and messing with his words. Oooo that's the type of scheming man I would think he would be. Not Jacob at Silk Press Sheila's door to take her to the station!!!! Nice cliffhanger. And look at next week!!!

I'll admit that I've been busy so I forgot to watch last Friday before it vanished off my system. And I actually was not too bugged. lol. From what I saw of last week, I didn't feel anything for it except anything attached to Damian. Like his scene with Holden. Him listening to Lily and trying to give his job to Holden. And their disagreement was pretty good, ending on showing how strong their friendship can be. And I liked Lily telling Devon and Nate about what she did...and the disagreements that followed. And we know I enjoyed seeing how close (but not toooo close) Damian and Lily continue to grow. Victor reading Billy will never not be funny with me. Of course, he already knows that Phyllis is on the warpath and that Billy hired Sally. And yet, Billy still he's going to best him? BOY, BYE. While Chelesa was making good points to Adam, FF material after 5 minutes. I hope the NEXT WEEK at least looked interesting. lol.

OMG!!!! ONE OF ANITA'S BANDMATE IS COMMMMMMMMINNNGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am loving that Anita's story is off and running. And it's a slow burn. OOoooo another Bill/Smitty scene. But I'm loving that the seed that Bill planted has really been growing over yesterday and now today's episode. Cuz Smitty going to Nicole...uh oh now. Kat continues to be smart and love it. But hopefully she realizes she's getting played by Silk Press Sheila. And probably in the minority, but I do like the June storyline so far. And it has not stalled really at all. It feels organic in terms of pacing.

Well I'm always here for people singing my song when it comes to the New/Old writers. lol. Same. Also same.

Oh, lord. I was hoping that Doug would be in June's surgery for a while. Now I'm afraid that she's going to run right into Dani and Pamela.
