Good. I expected it, but always nice to hear some "confirmation" of sorts.

It's so wonderful to see them Don Hastings!!! (He still sees Larry Bryggman and gave an update on Kathy Hays) Maura West drinking corona beer in her hot tub! She is such a fun time I just adore her. "I have shitty wifi" ... dead. At the end Scott DeFreitas joined her he looks the damn same. DAMN SAME. How does the ATWT cast not age? At all? Martha is obviously still close to Liz Hubbard (who she says is doing well!) and says they're even closer now than when they were on the show. She's talking about her first day and how she was almost fired. No one reacted to Michael Park mentioning Goutman directing him on his first day. Heh. Park's adoration of Maura West Kelley Menighan was fashionably late. Aww she recently talked to Ellen Dolan (I believe). Aww her crying at the end saying she just loved seeing their faces. We deserve ATWT and GL back.

Reilly always fascinated me for various reasons. LOL. Good to hear! And ew at JFP. Wonder what happened with him in his later years before he passed. Did he just say "[!@#$%^&*] the interference I'm going to write batshit crazy stuff"? LOL As much as he dragged stories out, dumbed folks down, used plot devices ... he could at least structure a story, IMHO. Good? That's subjective, lol.

Yep. It's so sad watching it collapse. Smart, sexy, witty ... I still wonder how Reilly wrote for the damn show (you can see some of his touches in 1991, but the show had great writers to cover some of it up and write it better, IMO). Did he have dolls of the characters and act out scenes? How did he manage to work with folks like Curlee and Demorest? He was such a recluse.

Yeah. Dolan was my first Margo. I liked her more as Maureen, personally once I finally got to see her in the role. But then I also really liked Parker, but I've gone back and forth because I really did like what I saw of Dolan as Maureen. But then seeing HBS and Colin as Margo? No contest. Sorry Ellen Dolan. LOL. She was just harder, which I suppose makes sense for Margo at that point in her life but ... Scott Holmes and Ellen Dolan never seemed to have any chemistry and they kinda ruined Tom and Margo. Moreso Tom. He became like a lot of men on the soaps, grabbing arms and being shouty at the women in his life. It's like Josh on GL. Very different earlier on than later when he constantly yelled at Reva. I never understood some of these men's appeals until I watched older material. I also forget about Santa Barbara at times and of course Deas was on there. I see a little bit of his later GL OTT but SB was campy ... I was watching the CC "death" episode from 1987. So maybe it started there? lol

Yeah I was more implying he benefited from solid leading ladies to help reel him in. My mistake on them and their marriage! lol. They had great chemistry together on-screen and clearly off. Their Tom and Margo is very appealing to me, as was HBS's Margo. I like Gregg Marx and can see why he was cast at the time, but I think of David from DAYS. ATWT was very lucky to have a great Tom & Margo twice. Deas/Colin and Smith/Marx. Ellen Dolan and Scott Holmes were fine initially. Dolan worked for me far more than Holmes at times, but eh. I'd take them back on my screen in a heartbeat at this point. Their characters really ended up suffering though from such bad writing.

Pretty good assessment. Deas also seemed to have the benefit of working opposite his wife Margaret Colin (who was delightful as Margo and so quirky) and then Fiona Hutchison, just two examples. His OTT seemed to start with the Zimmer pairing, even though they had ridiculous and weird sexual chemistry. I think along the way he also kinda gave up. Like Michael E Knight did, amongst others. Not an excuse for his shouting and scenery chewing but just an observation. I always felt if the show had continued or been revived (lol ... I know) Buzz would have been better to kill off than Alan. But I also wish they never introduced him so ... It seems like a lot of actors like Justin Deas, Kim Zimmer, Robin Strasser, Susan Seaforth Hayes all seemed to turn on the Over The Top acting in the hopes of keeping up with what was wanted at the time. Just another observation. We've had both Hayes and Strasser address this.

That would be awesome. I wonder if Martha would/could do that? Someone should ask her, lol (they probably already did) P&G doesn't care. They should. Why are they sitting on money to be made? OBVIOUSLY the cost to convert and other issues cause problems but ... ugh. I hate P&G/Telenext whoever the hell they are now.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I do remember that now. But yeah feels like it could be it, simply due to her age. She does? I don't watch regularly ATM but it seemed like she was quite featured last year? Is she on some break or appearing less now? (Who could blame her? I keep waiting to hear she's leaving, personally) Why do viewers put up with the obvious shock plots that are literally killing the next generation? As a bunch of nobodies runs around town? I still don't understand making all the offspring so evil or psycho or awful. It seems lazy most of the time and has become vastly overdone. I guess "nice" is boring, eh?

Reminds me of other posters who had strange devotions to people we all don't care for ... just sayin' ... though not nearly as bad ... lol I've read interviews. I've heard her take on things. Of course there's always numerous sides to a story. I often do give benefit of the doubt but she has never had my trust running a soap, sorry VanessaReardon 🤷♂️ you think she's great and that's fine. The rest of us don't. You talk about everyone having opinions and sometimes that's all it is. It's not that serious, really. You don't have to jump to her defense anytime someone has a criticism. Not being snarky: do you have her contact info? I would love nothing more than to talk to her. lol. I would love an honest to god interview with her about all of her decisions. You also have to know she's been in the business a very very long time and she knows how to spin things. She's not stupid. I just think she can be destructive. I mean, it's a pretty common opinion about her and other male executives. You enjoyed her I suppose. Not all of us did. She should have been in primetime, personally.

Netflix: One Day at a Time
I'll give them a pass since it's a Halloween episode. lol. Did you enjoy the "Everybody Loves Brian" mention ? lol! Premiere was fun. I missed this show and needed some happiness last night. It was great to have it back. The cast remains fabulous. They haven't missed a beat. The script was sharp and I couldn't stop laughing. I did enjoy the slight 'dig' at Netflix. I think a lot of folks opinion about Netflix has gone down. Not saying they still don't have some good/great shows on there but the momentum it once had seems to be ... anywho ... (I think Netflix needs to figure out what it wants to be again, personally and I say that as someone who was practically Netflix addicted for a few years, and way before they started creating original content) I miss the full opening theme song though but understandable it's cut for time of course. I feel like theme songs really make a show and it's been sad over the years to see just 30 second openings. Can't wait to see Marla Gibbs. Love seeing her get work and that she's still able to work. Love love love her. Random, but Betty White has kinda disappeared ... hope she's doing ok!

All three have had their fair share of vitriol, at least on here so I don't think that's fair. In general? Overall? I guess I can agree with that. I think Jill's is often far more deserved, personally, and it's not because she's a woman, though some may; people seem to expect 'better' of women and hold them to a higher standard so she gets more vitriol maybe? I don't do that. Valentini didn't come in and kill Laura Spencer (though I've never been a fan and still think he needs to be fired; and he did fire her like twice and fired Kanan and Buchanan and is just as bad about hiring his 'friends' as Jill was). I'd call Valentini inept and stupid, not destructive but I guess he is, just in different ways. Jill was destructive. Personally I think too many give her a pass. Rauch and Conboy have a long history of alienating writers and female stars. I don't dislike them any more or any less than Jill. Rauch was trash and an awful fit for GL. He did just as much damage if not more 🤷♂️ in different ways. She started the destruction of GL, Rauch and Conboy came after her and kept twisting the knife and killing the show. Though I guess some could argue Kobe and Long might have. And even before them ...
