I can believe Pratt about McTrash. McTrash clearly hated women, that was all over her writing. Even in her 'glory' days on AMC. I feel like a lot of women who write for soaps have misogyny in their writing. Sadly. But then again, gay men write couples having Knots Landing marathons so ... but I blame that a bit more on the pearl clutchers behind the scenes I also miss when soaps were ADULT and written smartly. I see so many couples that stans fawn over and see NO chemistry or heat. Soaps are beyond hollow now, it's really sad. They don't have to be. Heaven forbid a soap is progressive. I hate a lot of the dark and dreary and sensationalistic plots from the UK soaps but man even at their worst they're still years ahead and allowed to tell stories that the US soaps would NEVER. They're so afraid of turning off the pearl clutchers.

She looks great. Too bad she's being wasted on GH but I'm glad to have her. I think it was smart to make her Jackie, if true. She has a similar look and she's basically a fresh slate with ties to the past.

That's how I feel. As much as I wanted Serena on the canvas. We're lucky Hayley Erin or Kristen Alderson weren't Serena. She would have been Michael's five minute love interest. NO THANKS. She'd have been either killed under Phelps or written badly under Frank. It does irritate me we can't have Lucy's kid on the canvas but we have to spend years over Nina's daughter and we have Wallow that they've tried to make happen. We need 'fresh blood' but it irritates me when soaps try so hard to make unconnected characters work and then toss out connections for them in a last ditch effort when that person should have just been an off-spring of a legacy character instead.

I can see what you mean. IIRC, and I may not, I feel like Jensen didn't want to stick around. And Oakdale didn't really need Vicky, I suppose. I can see how they ultimately came to the decision. And like @victoria foxton said, Jensen was making appearances (as ghost Vicky) in 2001 when she landed the gig on GH. I'm guessing if Jensen wanted to, and ATWT wanted her, they could have resurrected Vicky but they ended up offing Jake so it didn't really matter. Kind of a shame though after what their characters meant to AW.

I agree. I'm guessing it's likely because Jensen as an actress was kinda disposable in the role, it was easy to do. If they had like, Anne Heche or even Ellen Wheeler in that role I bet Vicky wouldn't have died, LOL. I said it before, I always thought Kelley Menighan would have been an interesting Vicky recast. But Jensen, when they styled her right and wrote her as Vicky, she kinda worked in the role (you can see they made an effort early on but then gave up). I can see why they picked her. But she's so bland. Then they killed off Jake. Issues with Eplin aside, I thought Jake fit in fairly well. And I did like him with Molly.

I loved Ming-Na as Lien. Kavovit as Paul. Smith as Emily. So good. Love them. I'm so happy Alan got them onto a chat. It was such a loss to the show, losing Kavovit and DeFreitas. Especially when we ended up stuck with the likes of Roger Howarth for years. Sigh. Sad thing is, they found a great Paul in Scott Holroyd but we couldn't have nice things. Wouldn't Kelley Menighan have been a better choice for Vicky on Another World? Her bone structure and facial features resembles Anne Heche. Just saying. I think ONE OF the downfalls of soaps has been them dumping good actors for "names" from other soaps. JMO.
