I think we're past the point of recasting Shawn and Belle. If Cook had any interest he would have stuck around in 2015/2016. Kirsten couldn't run from DAYS fast enough. They aren't coming back. Madison and Beemer are fine. I really don't get the hate for them. Could there have been more "exciting" people cast? Sure. But I think they're very likable in the roles and it's not like they're leads at this point anyway (even though they should be). Kirsten always grated on my nerves as Belle. I do miss Jason Cook, but I like Beemer. I do think both are capable of more but let's be honest, they haven't even been invested in Shawn and Belle to bother for over a decade. And anytime they gain some traction (like with Belle horny for Philip and Chloe/Shawn had some chemistry) they get dumped. They're actually not that poorly received ... there's been a fairly large cry for both of them to be on the canvas, despite what ya'll think about them. Just saying. Hey, we can always find Charity Rhamer. Maybe she looks younger than Martha Madison, would that make ya'll happy lol I know we rehash ALOT as soap fans, but why is this being rehashed? I don't remember the bitching when they were pop ins. Now they're on contract it's a problem again? I'm so confused. I get liking certain actors in roles and not letting it go. I'll never shut up about Heather Tom/Amelia Heinle as Victoria. To each their own LOL. What it does tell me: the show isn't interesting enough if we're debating Martha and Brandon STILL. LMAO. Meanwhile, the show is so poorly produced on top of the whiplash writing ... Albert Alarr can't cut it. The cuts are bad. It's just not produced well at ALL. IMHO. It's just so bad. The sets are bad. Sigh. Almost everything seems to fall flat. The Charlie ending? SOOOO bad. And the followup? LMAO. Lord. A websoap could do better. And these one/two month arcs? Not working. Especially if the characters involved only appear 7 times a month. She's very very very defensive of the show, which I love her for. Sorry she was such a bitch to you. I can see that with her lol. I do appreciate how loyal she is to the show though. I know it's probably hard as an actor when fans hate what they're seeing, but the fact is, actors need to understand, we don't always like everything LOL ... there's a difference between bitching about a story and coming after an actor, which I see a lot of on Twitter and it's disgusting.

You're right, they never talk about the creative decisions and poor writing but then they'd have to own up to recycling hacks and owning poor decisions ... so they blame external factors. Exactly: "how networks responded did" The soaps all seemed to shift in 1996 to young and pretty. AMC dumped a bunch of vets. ATWT had models everywhere. Like the early 80s, we were back in a "we need young pretty people and get rid of the ew old people". B&B/Y&R didn't suffer much because it still had Bill. Though I'd argue 1996/1997 weren't the strongest Bill years for Y&R but I'd take anything over the non-soap Y&R has become. We lost clever, smart writing (yes we still had clunkers) and got ... cliched writing that continues today. I know people say 'they were copying Reilly' which is certainly true to an extent, but he could at least structure a story. Sure everyone was dumb as bricks ...

Exactly. I'm with you on this. I see it too. I mean, I enjoy them as psychos, and I don't want anymore 'redemption' because Ben has left a sour taste in my mouth, but still ... it makes you wonder And yeah, they are hot, but I like them because they can actually ... act. And both have surprised me by how good they are. I think both are insanely better than Robert Scott Wilson, who the show goes to great means to prop. Just saying.

Oh there's still PLENTY of issues. LOL. For one, do we see Laura get the same kind of writing Sonny does? Literally every tear and every moment? Nope. Where's the one on one's Laura should be having with Lesley and Kevin? The writing is still very uneven. But I do feel a shift and it's watchable for me. Not a high bar by any means ...

lol I loved it. Nina read them for filth and it was great. Carly is better without Sonny. And can we keep Lenny and Phyllis? Today would have made a great Friday cliffhanger (it was supposed to air last Friday) lol.

She's proven she's CAN'T. The constant string of romances is tired (she works best in corporate settings or being bitchy so I see why some see 'potential' ... I perked up with Sally writing her and Victoria better). She's a supporting actress in what SHOULD BE a lead role (like Amelia Heinle). And on the flip side of that, Heather Tom is a lead actress currently playing a supporting role. Make it all make sense! LOL

Yeah I hear you lol. I feel so 'personally' invested in DAYS that I almost take these things personally, if you will. Just irritates me that they waste potential, miss opportunities, etc. .... Sigh. But I'll never fully 'quit'. I love the show but it's a hot mess. Ron has months of decent, entertaining material and then it goes entirely off the rails. It always seems to fall around the start of the year. I smell Albert Alarr over a lot of this garbage (though Ron is all over it too). Remember we used to have Meng too. Now it's just him and checked out Corday. I'd be open to giving Ryan Quan a shot as the HW. But I think we need a strong female co-hw. Give me back Lorraine Broderick.

Very true on The Talk. And agreed on B&B. I'd love for anything to draw me in to that show again but nope. Zzzzzzz. They're all sadly at the point where the ABC and NBC soaps had been long before. Empty, directionless, budget reduced ... The last time I TRULY had genuine interest in rushing to watch B&B everyday was back in 2002-2003. I was just rewatching some of Macy's return from the dead and it was really good. WTF happened to Brad around then? The show just plummetted. We then had years of Jack Wagner and Lesley Anne Down who newer viewers would have no clue were ever even on the show. Sydney Penny. Lorenzo Lamas. Mario Lopez. The list goes on ...

I mean, he literally killed Bill a year ago to the day he killed Laura. Not quite but still. Same month. Such bullshit. I'm done with DAYS. I'm so tired. It's not just Ron. It's been years (over a decade?) of terrible writing, decisions, etc. I'll still keep up and I'm sure I'll watch when Sami and Jackee Harry come on but man ... I'm just done.

CBS and Sony couldn't be more checked out of Y&R could they? Griffith is zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Now Kyle suddenly has a kid? Where was this secret a few years ago when Theo first came on? Lawd. And agreed on everyone too nice. Why do soaps want to be Hallmark movies? I don't get it. GH was trending that way too for a while but finally has some sparks of being a soap again. Characters actually argue!
