  1. Yes, it is.
  2. ^ That's good news. This is not. I was hoping that CBF and DR would not have to testify. I hope Avenatti really has what he says he has.
  3. Well, this is an honest take at least.
  4. Yes. I think it's the idea of 45 outright firing Mueller that has people alarmed, not so much a pardon for Manafort and Cohen. I certainly see why people are concerned that our institutions won't withstand this onslaught. It's not like the Republicans can be counted on to reign Trump in. I feel very grateful that Trump has pissed on this counties generals time and again.
  5. I certainly don't have as much as I did before 2016. That election showed me that there are far more awful people in this country than I ever imagined. Not that I think I'm some saint, but damn. I never thought I'd see the day Nazi's marched in our streets and POTUS would shrug it off and millions of people would stick with him. I think there is some hope that democrats are more energized and that more will vote in 2020. Also, maybe some hope that fewer Republicans will vote. I won't be counting my chickens before I see 45 escorted out of the white house.
  6. Looks like he does.
  7. I'm sorry that happened to you. Women are definitely a part of the problem. I'd need a degree in sociology to understand why so many women go along, but partially it has to be socialization. A lot of evangelicals still believe women should submit to men, so I understand why that group supports the status quo. It's just beyond me why educated women in positions of power (like the one from Yale law school) don't stand up and try to stop it more often. She should know better, but I guess some people only care about holding onto power.
  8. Lord. It's really seems all the worse when you have a woman with so much power and she just goes along, instead of trying to change things.
  9. Some of the corroborating witnesses that Ramirez has are men. I know it's sad, but I think that will help her case.
  10. Yeah, but it wasn't exactly an allegation. She was advising the women on how to fit into his mold, which makes her complicit at least. How messed up is that?
  11. Yeah, but of course they don't. At least not until there are severe consequences, which is why so many of us cringe when we hear alcohol used as an excuse. These guys know they have behaved badly under the influence before, but they keep drinking.
  12. I did. I love watching Micheal Avenatti in action. Now Ronan Farrow has another accuse. This is going to be a better week because whatever the result the truth is out.
  13. Yes!!! Not that I think this will change the outcome, but I am pleased CBF will not have to stand alone.
  14. I have to admit I'd never thought of it this way before. It's just so f*cked up, but he makes a point. Voter suppression doesn't apply as much, especially in the suburbs of Omaha.
  15. Shades of the Brock Turner case. By all means, let's not ruin the man's life just because he assaulted someone.
  16. The kinship of valuing money and its acquisition above all else for one thing.
  17. That is nuts. Then you'll have people try to argue if a woman can get an abortion without a man's consent, why is this wrong? The idea that it's the women's body and she should control what happens to it doesn't permeate.
  18. That's messed up on CNN's part.
  19. Look at how many white women voted for 45, even though there were many allegations of sexual misconduct against him and a video of him bragging about "grabbing". A lot of these women are self hating thanks to the way they were raised. Obviously, I hope more women will come to their senses after the last couple of years. We'll see.
  20. It still feels so unreal to me at times. I guess it was always under the surface and Trump has released the kraken. The fact that he was elected despite all the racism and all of the misogyny made clear where things stand.
  21. ^ Yes. Since 45 was elected we've seen the mask slip for sure. That goes for race and gender issues. MM being never disappoints in that regard.
  22. Yes, that would really be a wonderful shake up.
  23. This is really odd. So many in these elite conservative circles are coming up with odd defenses (rough horse play). Meanwhile, the best thing they could do is just keep quiet. As for ASJ I remember thinking he was cute, but cute is as cute does. I really liked Ingo Rademacher once upon a time too, but anyone who supports Trump loses my respect. https://twitter.com/ezraklein/status/1042953925014511617 As much as I hate the idea of an oligarchy (and really it's too late, so we might as well pick the good ones), this guy is winning me over.
