As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I think you're right. I believe the other co-HW was Juliet Law Packer. I always found Richard Backus to be a mesmerizing and excellent actor. His portrayal of Jason Saxton on For Richer, For Poorer was one of the most memorable things about that show.

Lovers and Friends/For Richer For Poorer Discussion Thread
Reruns of Chico and the Man replaced Lovers and Friends in the 12:30 time slot (here on the east coast). At some point, The Gong Show moved from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. and replaced Chico. When L&F returned as For Richer, For Poorer, it was given the 1:00 p.m. time slot.

Search For Tomorrow Discussion Thread
What an amazing find, Victoria!!! Thanks for posting this. I've been watching some of the videos and found something unusual. According to the closing credits, someone by the name of Jackson Chase was head writer of Search for Tomorrow in December 1981. (The video says it's from 1982 but in the comments people are saying it was likely 1981). Hasn't ever heard of Jackson Chase? So this would be after Don Chastain's stint.

GH: Rumors regarding the vaccine mandate
No trophy? In the segment with Burton and McCook, both held up their trophies. Laura Wright and the other actresses came out holding their trophies. And why would GH send another actor? The Talk was honoring the winners.

Agnes Nixon's Erica Kane
Joseph no longer posts here, so I don't think you'll get an answer from him. I believe he was referring to Brooke Logan, a character from the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. Like Erica Kane, Brooke Logan has been married many times.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
If Irna was under an exclusive contact with Procter & Gamble from around 1964 to 1970, how was she able to be involved with both Days of our Lives and Love is a Many Splendored Thing? I don't believe, though could be wrong, that either show had anything to do with P&G.

Unpopular opinions: cancelled soaps edition
I know what you mean. I’ve driven that route — the last time was last Sunday — and it was draining. I was so excited that both shows were coming back and then disillusioned when my friend filled us in on how troubled things were in the studio.

Unpopular opinions: cancelled soaps edition
But Prospect Park produced content beyond AMC and OLTL, including Salem, which aired after the two soaps ended. Prospect Park produced Royal Pains for years. TOLN always never seemed to have much of a presence and faded quickly. That said, the production was troubled. My husband and I had a dinner party in March 2013 that was attended by someone in the soap industry. He filled me in about the issues that were later revealed, including cast and crew not getting paid. He said morale was horribly low with the crew, who were being bussed to CT from NY.

News & Gossip from the mid-1980s per The Soaps of Yesterday
And add Edge to that list of New York soaps that were on the air in 1984!

Same Actor, Different Names
I recall one of the soap rags discussing how Tracey opted not to go by the name Tracey E. Recht. 😄

Texas! Discussion Thread
I'm not sure Lemay had anything to do with Bert Kramer's casting. Lemay was long gone from Another World by the time Texas debuted in August 1980. And I've never heard of Lemay's name associated with anything involving Texas. Do you mean Paul Rauch? That said, Donald May would have been a great idea to play Alex. However, Donald didn't join Texas until June 18, 1981 (I remember the date as I graduated from high school that day.) I believe Gail Kobe was the Executive Producer when Donald joined the show.

They claimed to have been a soap writer and got their start working with Claire Labine. One of their other claims was that Corinne Jacker had been the first African American head writer for a soap opera.

I'm still amused by one supposed insider's claim that Lemay had planned a romance between Jim Matthews and Angie Perrini.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
I recall reading that awesome article about Dennis Parker that JSwift posted above. What was most interesting to me was that Parker and Joey Alan Phipps (the original Kelly McGrath) had been lovers and Parker helped Phipps get the role of Kelly.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
Nope. No contradiction. Ansel was very much alive. In fact, the synopses on the Edge homepage show he was notified of Nadine’s death.

Dick Callinan portrayed Raymond Harper. Adam Jr. was shown on occasion over the years. I think he went to live with April and Draper after Nicole was murdered in 1983 Kevin was sterile.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
I believe Lambie was on the west coast at the time Logan came back in 1984. He had a short stint on Santa Barbara in early 1985 and then returned to New York with his then wife Juanin Clay to join Search for Tomorrow. An article I read said they returned to New York because Juanin thought she'd have better luck getting cast for roles in New York than she had experienced in Hollywood.

Here’s the Genovese article that describes the haunted house story: https://www.welovesoaps.net/2015/07/remembering-woodbridge-the-secret-storm-10.html?m=1

"Secret Storm" memories.
A John Kelly Genovese article online from back in 1979 claims that Ken Stevens died in a car accident. The article covers some of the final storylines, including Laurie and Mark moving into a supposedly haunted house.

And, of course, he played the evil and menacing Beau Richardson on The Edge of Night. I, too, have a hard time picturing him in a hero-type role.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
I don't think so. It was Mark Faulkner who created the Edge site. I think he also created a Somerset site. Paige Madison first appeared in mid-May 1979, followed by Owen a few weeks later. Brian and Nola arrived in June. Wow. What an interesting find! I couldn't bring myself to watch the Locher/Goutman interview. Does anyone know if this novel was discussed?

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
I can't recall which magazine it was, but one featured a story in 1981 about Edge's 25th anniversary party. The story included a number of photos from the party and Karen Lynn Gorney was included. The article mentioned that Gorney was interested in assuming the role of Nicole.

Generations Discussion Thread
Rebecca had a daughter named Laura (Gail Ramsey), who was the mother of Monique (Nancy Sorel). Monique and Sam (Kelly Rutherford) were around the same age. Dorothy Lyman is just about one year older than Gail Ramsey. Rebecca also had a son, JD (Gerard Prendergast). They were planning to bring JD back right before the show was cancelled.

Texas! Discussion Thread
I don't recall all the details, but I know Reena and Justin had a connection from the very beginning. I remember a long scene early in the series where they go to KVIK and the camera followed them from the parking lot into the building. I think Reena and Justin made their bet after Justin and Ashley had already gotten married. I know that the character of TJ was supposed to be a love interest for the newly widowed Reena, but the show went in a different direction.
