Or maybe it's the 1986 stuff and RoJohn being a thorn in his side because John, you know, wanted his wife back lol? I don't think the show has ever taken the time to explain or backtrack on the original reasons.

At least with Marlena they set up Stefano having her in that weird faux Stefano-Deidre Hall didn't decide to sign-fake Marlena story in 1988 with Diana and RoJohn. I don't think Steve even knew Stefano lol. Hope did peripherally but nothing major. So, you know, I'll buy it because of the Gina story. And obviously they set up Steve being alive with his casket? getting switched. But did the show ever explain why/how Orpheus gave Marlena to Stefano? Did he lose her? Because his revenge plot hasn't ended even though his OGBEEF is with Roman not John. RealRoman killed Orpheus's wife not John.

100%. Rohm seems so unlikable in all roles. I am sure the actress is lovely in real life, but I am surprised she's had such a solid career. Are we talking about good characters in idea or good actors in bad roles? Or both? I think characters like Miranda and Gina Cates on GH were characters that had ton of potential, but were played by bad actresses and never revisited. But then I think of Lindsay Hartley or Sarah Brown on Days and they were bad characters with good actresses. Actually Sarah Brown just probably owns this thread in all roles outside of Carly.

Did Genie and Charles interact a lot on Days? I think they have some chemistry. All my memories of Diana are with Drake or John Aniston

Sarah did have good chemistry with EM. It just got so weird when Duke Lavery was her evil ex husband. GS was bad and (I know he's practically a kid) but not cute either. I THINK everything would be a lot better if they didn't give him the faux Stone dying story. Yeah, it could be a fan theory that caught fire. I remember thinking some things Oscar said made it seem like Brenda could possibly be his mom, but I might have made that up in my head to continue the theory lol. I mean, I would not want Brenda to be Oscar's mom, but I can see actual usefulness in Joss/Oscar's story with Brenda and Sonny seeing it as a repeat of Stone and bringing all that up again and finding each other again. And I think I just wrote an outline for Sonny/Brenda fanfiction, so I'll stop.🤣

I tend to believe some of the Brenda/Oscar stuff. I have no idea if it was ever a true thing the show pursued, but I think it was someone's idea at least on the show. The TB/Kate stuff had a lot of rumor traction. I tend to believe it because Kate was forgotten and the show was going for something big post-Sonny/Brenda for Sonny

I think the Dev stuff was literally about the fact he was what Sonny/Brenda's kid would look like. I liked Madison on Days. I thought Claudia was very ill conceived, but SB did well with what she was given.

I think both are true? But I am not even sure it got to the point where Vanessa was ever in serious talks. But they kept talking about Oscar like his mom was a big deal and.......it was Kim. TB was heavily rumored to be Nukate so given her reappearance on GH I believe it.

For sure about SH-it's wiki so it's probably wrong or a half truth. Lol! The mysterious patient Barrett that was just hair and a tattoo. That with the Cooper Barrett appearance made me think it was going somewhere. What a fake out and not in a good way. I am not going to lie, the red herrings did make me tune in. Poor Sarah Brown, never had a good soap role past Carly.

I never knew that about SH-interesting. Wiki said she declined because she was pregnant. Anyhow agree about the weird Vanessa Marcil tactics. But sometimes she was literally unavailable when the rumors came out. I honestly think the show would be much more likely to pull the recast trigger now. Guza seemed to be the one with the most adoration for Vanessa.

I mean, obviously, I think there's no recasting Brenda but some names have been better than others. Gina T and RB to name a few. Lisa LoCicero said that they initially offered a Brenda recast to her and she declined, which was wise. Sarah Brown for some reason feels a little young to me to play Marty. I wonder why Susan turned it down. If it was storyline I wonder how she felt about what she did end up having to play.

Budig just has such a different energy as a performer than KMc. It's hard to imagine anyone else playing Robin, but definitely not Budig. I think VM/RB are much similar in acting styles and it still wouldn't have worked but I could see the idea behind Budig being Brenda. Sarah Brown might have refused to play such an iconic character? So I guess OLTL just went in the complete opposite direction and hired Chambers? Poor girl.

Now that you say that I have a vague recollection of that rumor. RB would be so wrong as Robin lol. I just remember the soap mags bandied about the idea of RB as Brenda a long time ago. I could possibly see RB as Brenda, but could not see her as Robin at all. I think Sarah Brown might have been able to pull off Marty. Lol! I know. I never thought of RB as much of an actress to begin with. More of a charming performer.

Sorry. I liked Hayden. Sort of. I think I was so scared RB would be a Brenda recast I just tried to really like her non character because she wasn't Brenda.

I am shocked they haven't brought RB back as Hayden yet. I thought that was coming the minute CM was cast.

I didn't read all the recaps but the first line of the recap from March 31st is riveting- Belle and Shawn's night of romance was foiled once again when Belle was upset with Shawn for making fun of her underwear??? What? Lol.

I always giggled that all the other villians just got tired of their kidnappees and just gave them to Stefano for fun and games? I believe perhaps Stefano might want Marlena but I don't think there was ever a plausible reason he wanted Hope or Steve. Aside from the weird Gina retcons.

Well, I have no horse in the Carson race so I don't care about that. Listen, I am not expecting the MB's acting level to be at Stone's death bed scene or even at the level of when he broke up with Brenda a decade ago. I don't think anyone would argue his acting, charisma, and interest level have waned. But there were much worse acting atrocities happening on that same episode lol. I thought the fight/dialogue was long overdue, both actors did well, and it kept my interest. It also had flashbacks-which makes me think everything is 100 times better.

I guess I am in the minority and thought Mo was good? Believe me, I know he has flaws. There are scenes where I can't even hear or make out what he's saying because he is whispering and mumbling. There are times you can clearly see him pausing to try to remember his lines. There have been many times over the years where you can tell he's completely checked out of the Carson pairing. But yesterday I thought they were both good and the fight had better dialogue than usual.

I knew there was a time when they were thought to be Tony/Marlena's but I wasn't sure if that was truly a red herring. Now I realize it was just a writing change, but Tony/Marlena sharing kids to me seemed so WTF that I almost assumed there was a different plan. It truly should have been Stefano and that's where I assumed it was going at the beginning (or they'd be RoJohn's). I don't necessarily want that for Marlena, but that would have been great drama. Also would have been good. But was Orpheus in the cannon as Marlena's kidnapper at the time? I know he obviously was, but for several years the show made it seem like Stefano was her kidnapper not Orpheus until Orpheus returned.
