We can always move over to the past Days thread if we have to, but IIRC Bo was kidnapped by the Torres family and Roman went undercover to get him back. He was gone for a minute then reappeared as RKK. He mostly finished up the Carly story which went on for about another year. Billie appeared as a drug addict and was in Carrie/Austin's story. There was a lot of hand wringing over Billie's addiction and Austin had to box to pay off her debts or something. I know John/Marlena helped Billie out as well, which was an issue with Roman. I am sure I am missing some details, but Billie was introduced as Carrie's peer basically. The show didn't move her over to Bo until Curtis Reed's death.

Fair. I am not saying Wayne is traditionally that attractive, but he had a rough and unrefined quality that I liked. Just very blue collar. You know he was treating Marlena right lol...until she met John. I am all for LR/WN and what could of been. But do you guys remember that blonde cop they seemed to be testing with Wayne and RKK? Taylor I think? I wonder why they dropped that.

I have always felt MM was miscast as Belle. Outside from looking like Deidre Hall-she brings nothing to the table. She acted like she was 45 when she was 25. I think she's an okay actress, but I think multiple shows struggle with casting a supercouple kid. They are rarely as good as their parents. 1993 is really great. 1991 has a ton of problems, but it's still more watchable than 1992. Nothing really happens in 1992. Literally the show doesn't get going again until Marlena gets thrown in a pit.

Yes, but it wasn't all Days fault. The Cruise of Deception was really good. They lost quite a few cast members back then and it was a rough transition from 80's supercouples to the 90's. The Tale of 2 Romans was awful and unpopular and the show became very Carly focused. I think 1992 was worse than 1991 with the awful Roman/Mrs. Doubtfire undercover story, The Bo recast transition, Kayla/Shane, PP's issues, John's wonky ass jewelry thief past, Jack/Jennifer being swindled by a con artist, Michael Easton as the new hero etc. Once they killed off Isabella the show starting getting a lot better. When the show starts moving toward the affair it's golden. They got CC back as Carrie, aged Sami, brought on Austin/Billie, introduced Kate and re-cast Laura-the show was fantastic by 1993. I know you've said that before lol, but I can't remember why you dislike her. I make fun of MM/Belle all the time so I was trying to say something nice lol.

Again, Belle had such a critical timeline of birth it was foolish to age her. I know these parents weren't on the canvas, but you could have aged Stephanie, Theresa/Jeannie, Andrew etc. I guess they all are related to Shawn and I truly get the Belle/Shawn idea. I don't have a problem with Phillip being aged. Belle/Brady are the just more problematic and the fact they aged Brady much later and made him an [!@#$%^&*] is always annoying. Like,dude, it's totally sad your mom died, but Marlena raised you since you were like 1-calm the [!@#$%^&*] down. They tried to make it like he had a troubled childhood and we have never had any proof he wasn't going to the park with Chelsea the nanny all day. And also, Kyle Lowder looks like he could be Marlena's child, not John/Isabella's at all. Anyhow, neither here nor there because I do think EM vaguely reminds me of Drake so it's fine. He's just about 10 years too old. He should not be the same age as Sami/Eric.

Yeah, you could totally make Claire Phillip's kid. It wouldn't bother me. Funny you say that they were forced and I was a teen as well in that era. I didn't hate them and JC and KS had some chemistry-it was just like you had to ship them because that was the pairing. On paper it's cute to have Bope and Jarlena's kid be together, but I have stated at length my thoughts on aging Belle too soon. I would have made her Abby/Will's age.

I think unfortunately you have to keep Belle, but I would make Sami's kidnapping successful and this lame-o Belle is not their real child. And the new Belle is awesome and cool. As far as Brady, I don't really care one way or the other. It honestly still bothers me he doesn't call Marlena mom to this day. That lady raised you!!! John just dropped you off as a package deal with Belle! I would never, ever go there but that is interesting. I think you can almost whitewash the whole thing because Shawn and Belle would only be cousins if John was Roman. First cousins lol but it's been done before and I don't think it's illegal lol.

I will try to be objective here. I always found Isabella* to be sanctimonious and obnoxious-pushing John to commit. BUT in the scheme of things I have no problem with John having someone of his own that didn't love him because he was Roman. I just thought the show really stacked the odds against Jarlena with her getting pregnant because you knew exactly what those two would do. It took a lot of the suspense out of it, you know? Obviously, it's of no consequence because she died and Jarlena have been together for like 1000 years. I just don't think Days utilized the beats of that story. John was 100% into Isabella and Marlena with Roman, and six months later they couldn't keep their hands off one another. I don't hate John for being with Izzy B-I just thought she was a lame character lol *Although her death scenes make me sob to this day. It's so sad.

I just don't see how you do that. It would diminish the partner to allow that and I don't think the audience would accept that type of women. Because I think any Sonny fan ships him with either Brenda or Carly and you want him to be better. Idk, your idea is good I just thing any effort into Sonny died a long time ago. He's reckless! He's off his meds! He's dangerous! Blah. Send him off screen to Rome to marry Brenda or kill him off.

I remember liking Isabella and Jack's friendship. I have a visceral hate for her character and I truly know she's not that bad-especially in rewatch. I still think her and John were very rushed due to DH returning. I don't think the character is awful, but I think it was a mistake to make her pregnant. It stacked the odds so against John/Marlena. Unless the affair was always the plan, which if so, good slow burn. I just don't think Days had that foresight lol.

I will make no bones about it-I think Sonny was an awesome character. He is just a character with a clear expiration date. I think Sonny leaving Brenda at the altar was an obvious end for Sonny's storyline. I think early Carson was good and gave him life but there is really no way to make Sonny the main guy on the show. He had 1 or 2 good pairings, some good stories 30 years ago, and is an all around douche lol. You can only go in circles about his business for so long. If he's not willing to change for Carly/Brenda, what's the point? Even Luke had growth under Labine (but did regress in a horrible way). Sonny hasn't changed in 30 years and they have saddled him with numerous kids and romances. It was fantastic when Brenda was the woman he truly loved and didn't know how to handle the emotions. I can rewatch their romance all day everyday. I can't stand Sonny now. MB has regressed as an actor and couldn't appear more bored. He doesn't even learn his lines. I think MB is a good guy and I love his mental health work and will stan him and Brenda to the end of time, but c'mon...He hasn't been a useful character in years.

How would they not be his kids? Maybe Isabella ran around, but I think the only options for Belle are John and Roman lol. I would laugh if Saint Isabella had an affair on John and Brady wasn't his. I have so many fond memories of John carrying babyBrady around like a football.
