I am assuming the Devil hasn't given up on Ben/Ciara's baby. But what can it do until the baby is born? I do hope it drops the plan for Dimera though. Makes perfect sense to me. Belle is the obvious choice. Jarlena's out of wedlock baby. Shawn cheating on Belle with Jan could have been enough to leave her susceptible to the Devil IMO. But what doesn't make sense at this point is why the Devil wasted months on Johnny.

I wouldn't mind Belle being Possessed in actuality. I always find her dull, so that would be a nice change of pace for the character. Unlike Johnny who can be an ass possessed or not lol. Belle would have been the better character to jump to from Marlena initially of course. A little higher stakes than Johnny, who we really hardly know. And at least it would give Belle an excuse to cheat on Shawn for the millionth time lol.

Abby's been rumored for awhile, so I don't doubt it. It is horrible to think this story will continue for that many more months though.

I was totally thinking about that random Larry Welch appearance too-which I didn't hate lol. Anyhow, l agree. People like Larry Welch and Orpheus had/have potential, but Days brought both of them back decades too late. It almost ties into this Sarenee stuff because the writers think that because they were a great villian once it will work again without doing any work or thinking how they will fit on the canvas. I don't know, I am not sure if we should retire the supervillian, but we have multiple silly villians right now: Kristen, Orpheus, Clyde, the Devil and to a lesser extent Ava/Gwen. It's too much. The Devil should be wreaking much more havoc than it is worrying about Dimera and stupid Gabi/Jake. JoDevil isn't even scary and Kristen is apparently super human and unstoppable.

One of the main problems with Orpheus is he was gone for a long time and his main bad deed (kidnapping and faking Marlena's death) was undone and retconned to make Stefano the person who kidnapped Roman, Marlena, and brainwashed John. So like how scary is Orpheus? He has literally succeeded at nothing lol. His plots suck. If they brought Orpheus back earlier (say early/mid 90's) I think he would have been established as a better villian. But again, he and Stefano fill the same role as far as their arch enemies. I still think Orpheus could have been Jarlena's big bad and worked with Stefano and Stefano could have branched out to play villian to other characters while still being a thorn in Marlena/John's side. Anyhow, that didn't happen and now we are stuck with a minor villian from 1986 trying to fill a role he just can't because no work was put into Orpheus's characterization. He's better than Clyde Weston, but only slightly.

John was literally the only one with a sense of urgency on it lol. Even Marlena's own children were like, "I'm sure John will figure it out"🤣 It was much easier to make Stefano a big bad all over town because he had hands in a lot of stories via the mass amount of Brady's, their spouses/offspring, and his own children. Orpheus always had a very specific role as an ISA agent gone bad over grief from his wife's death. He's not supposed to a full on psychopath they way he is now.

The thing is I used to think Orpheus was scarier and "less cartoon" than Stefano. The problem with Orpheus is his main beef is with John/Marlena/Roman? and not the entire town, so they are shoehorning him into things and hatred that he has no reason to have. Obviously, Stefano had a hatred for all Bradys and it was stretched at times, but his overall hatred for everyone was more plausible.

Yes! Belle would just run around town and everyone would be like "drug psychosis" it's fine. Same about the history. It's nice he knows it, but just because I know Sandy Horton exists doesn't mean I would have Sami wake up as her one day. It's horrible writing with the caveat that "it's not that bad because it's taking from the past". That doesn't cover up idiotic, sloppy work.

I would probably pitch Belle waking up to think she's the real Isabella and fighting her mother for her own father lol. Charity Rahmer definitely could have handled that assignment 🤣

Lol! Not that I necessarily want them in this story, it's just weird they aren't at all. And they aren't doing anything else either. I think they have only been on once in a month or so. They were absent pre-Olympics and had the scenes about Craig/Nancy post-Olympics. Anyway the sooner there is an exorcism the sooner it's done right? I have a feeling someone is going to tell me Belle is actually the next one possessed though.

I could write a better show than this and I am not a writer. @FrenchBug82 said up thread this isn't a tribute to Renee/PS this is a tribute to Jamey thinking he's such a Days historian that he knows about Renee. It's indulgent and silly. I don't understand why they aren't using any flashbacks for this story either. Plus Days should not being doing a Devil Possession and this Sarenee story at the same time. It's too much even for Days.

It's not good for anyone on this show to be involved in this story 🤣, but it's so strange they aren't even sharing scenes with Johnny and have nothing to do with it. It's not like Jarlena are doing anything else.

Clearly Sarenne is truly delusional if she thinks Xander is Alex. Why is everyone letting her run around town? Why hasn't anyone called Maggie? There is a clear idea that she's a danger to people, most notably Anna, but she's staying in the mansion with her? Let's say I buy all the stupidity about Sarah/Renee not realizing anyones ages, why aren't characters on the show taking this seriously? Everyone is just shrugging their shoulders hoping she will snap out of it on her own.

At least they are finally involved in the story again. Although, I have said it before, I have no idea why Marlena doesn't retire. Outside of Ben, most of her "patients" are just family and friends coming to her for advice. She can do that from home. It's not like her being a shrink drives much of her story anyway. It just gives her something to do because DH has more guarantees than Drake. Honestly, I can't believe she's had patients post-1995. Who would use a DR that was possessed by the devil and kidnapped 6 months out of the year?

Perhaps. But she was literally killed off and that was before anyone was really brought back from the dead on Days. And it's just TP's word and he was in and out in the 80's as Tony. If Renee died in the last few years she would have been brought back by Rolf's secret serum. I have a feeling PS might have pissed more people off or the show just moved in a different direction. I can't say the show ever needed Renee after she died. Most of her screen partners were gone or moved on after a few years or so.

But, again, I really can't find much about PS's personal life so it could be an outside messy relationship seeping into her work.

Very true. It just hasn't been for a bit. I wouldn't mind a refocus on the hospital, but I have always assumed that wasn't the show's main focus like General Hospital should be lol. I have always considered Days to be focused on several different aspects and never considered it a hospital show. Recently, Lexie, Kayla and Mike were the Jack of all trades Drs. And, yes, Sarah is a jack of all trades Dr. herself. But your idea about a new shrink is fabulous and I am onboard. And someone that doesn't have a history of mental illness or devil possession (side eyeing Laura/Marlena) would be great lol.

Definitely. I know the hospital has never been a huge focus for Days, but the show needs more than Kayla and 22 year old Tripp being the Drs. of all trades in town and a new shrink. I wouldn't be opposed to it being one of Justin/Adrienne's sons who wouldn't be related to many in town. Hell, I would even pretend Jeremy Horton didn't exist in that previous run and make him a Dr. He's not technically related to Sarah lol.

That would be a great idea! There needs to be another shrink in town that isn't sinister. At this point in her life, Marlena deserves to retire, you know? I know it limits some of her storyline possibilities, but does anyone just retire on Days? She's been working for about 50 years as a Dr. I would have retired years ago lol

Yes, but that wasn't really PS/Renee's fault that was just stupid writing, but you are not the first person who has said it was nearly identical. Renee's just not that memorable overall. She's not even one of Tony's most memorable love interests or Alex's or David's lol I have no idea why PS was disliked, but I thought Renee was popular? Who hated her specifically? Just curious. Not try to talk ill of the dead or anything. Just wondering who she didn't get along with.
