DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
Yes, Renee may be memorable to some who watched her in real time, but is not memorable in the scheme of things on the show. She had no children, Stefano/Tony never really mentioned her, and her run was short. It seems like this was just a Jamey Giddens fave character and the pitch to Ron worked. And like I said this is work for the viewers because you would have to google Renee and look up clips to even get a feel for her because this is being so shoddily told. Although, I am not going to lie, I would love to see LG play Samantha Evans and think she's Deidre's twin. For some reason that makes me laugh so hard.

I am not sure how talented Jamey Giddens is. I don't think he's a complete hack. I do think he knows his soap history. He just comes into any soap with major biases and favorites, which isn't good. It's great he loved Renee and PS and wanted to write a tribute to her, but it just doesn't make sense in the current Days landscape. Idk, I am not a writer, but if I got a job at GH I would make Sonny talk about his undying love for Brenda or something because I love Vanessa and Brenda. But that makes no sense for what's going on with actual Gh today. And I don't actually think this is going to bring Tanna that much angst unless Tony gets all sorts of creeping and pursues Sarah.

Well, all that aside (and I know you aren't defending it), it seems very easy to prove to Sarah that Renee is dead and that Sarah is Sarah. Pictures, newspaper articles, birth certificates, etc. Instead, people are placating Sarah and no one has called Marlena or another mental health professional immediately.

Lol! I hope it was also mentioned he spent time in upstate New York and Beverly Hills, 90210. No worries! I was being overly sensitive.

Why is this an issue? I was just stating my opinion...I don't have a problem with anyone doing this in regular life with their own familial dynamics. Where should I go? Same.

Poor Don. I am shocked RC didn't write a cheeky line in saying after Don went to mail a letter he started a new, exciting life in Santa Barbara. I don't want to sound mean or disrespectful to Renee/PS, but I am not sure why Jed Allan got zero love or tribute when he passed, even if it was only Marlena talking about it in a few scenes. No problem. The EJ story is stupid. He got convicted WITHOUT Sami even testifying.

Days of Our Lives: March 2022 Discussion Thread
The thing about the Sarah/Renee story that's bad (besides everything) is that the viewer has to do a lot of work. Tony/Anna have given a brief synopsis/exposition of the situation from their sides but no flashbacks, real context, or anything to give this a stronger background. If you are under 40 (which I assume a lot of the audience is) you would have to google it or look up you tube videos to "get" it. And I have no problem doing that, but I think most people watch soaps out of habit or not to have to do a lot of work, so it's just problematic all around. If it was slightly easier to understand for viewers and not done with an actress 30 years younger than the main players it *might* work a little better. Ben isn't in jail? EJ was found guilty and is in jail. Brady is not currently in trouble over the Phillip incident because Kate/Victor took back the declaration that Phillip was legally dead when they found out he was alive. Phillip is still "missing" but off to get mental health treatment.

Days of Our Lives: March 2022 Discussion Thread
It's not that serious. That's great. It's just my opinion. You don't have to agree. I still think it's weird in the context of Chloe/Craig's relationship as father and daughter. 🤷♀️ It's so awful. None of it even makes the slightest bit of sense. And LG is not working for me at all as Sarenee. It needs to be over lol.

Days of Our Lives: March 2022 Discussion Thread
Yeah, I totally understand it can be regional/cultural. Nothing about Chloe as a character and the evolution of her relationship with Craig leads me to believe she would call him "Daddy" though. I believe Nancy used to call her own father as Daddy though. And I have heard Marlena refer to her own parents as Mama and Daddy and use the term "your daddy" in reference to John/Roman while speaking to Belle/Sami, so they could have picked it up. Anyhow, it's just something personally I don't like. It's almost cliche for female soap characters to call their father's "Daddy" and in most cases I find it cloying. Honestly, there are much bigger issues on Days than whether I like Chloe calling Craig "daddy", so no big deal lol.

Days of Our Lives: March 2022 Discussion Thread
Yes, but Nancy gave her up for adoption as a teen without telling Craig and there was a mystery for awhile who Chloe's dad was-it seemed at one point it was Stefano or perhaps one of her dad's friends raped her, but it turned out to be Craig after all that.

Days of Our Lives: March 2022 Discussion Thread
I don't know if there is any hidden agenda of Chloe calling Craig daddy, but I think it's weird when any grown woman calls their dad, "daddy". Especially since Chloe found out he was her dad when she was about 17 or 18. But Sami and Belle do it, among others, as well. I know a lot of people do it in the real world, but it's always been weird to me and seems weird for the Chloe/Craig relationship in particular.

GH: Classic Thread
I can't speak for anyone, but I think she was just very sanctimonious and obviously famous for being a virgin. She didn't have a ton of likable factors (even though we were supposed to think she was great) and had multiple, multiple men after her (Jeff, Joe Kelly, Noah) for no discernible reason. She was Audrey's niece as well. I don't know if she was propped exactly, but it felt like that to me. I believe Noah dumped Bobbie for Annie a few years ago off screen. ETA-It's nothing against Susan Pratt, who is very good. It just wasn't the kind of character she excels at. She does better with someone with a bit of an edge.

Days of Our Lives: March 2022 Discussion Thread
I definitely don't expect LG to deep dive and find all of the 40 year old clips of Renee and spend her time on that, but at least a few important scenes. I know Sarah is mentally ill right now, but she's acting like a child almost. Not like Renee at all. I have no idea if this is anything Christopher Sean studied, but he immediately felt like he had similar mannerisms and expressions as Drake/John. It could be natural, but it felt like he spent time at least studying John/Drake. The same with Stephen Nichols. He doesn't need to do research like that-he's iconic already. I would expect someone like LG to at least do the bare minimum and do the same. Maybe that's too harsh though.

Days of Our Lives: March 2022 Discussion Thread
Okay, but I would at least expect LG to infuse some of Renee's aura or haughtiness into the way she acting. She was waving at and greeting Chad like a child. I am probably not explaining this right, but if Sarah reading Renee's diary made her think she loved Tony so you would think she also picked up other Renee attitudes and habits. I think LG plays Sarah and pretty much anything on Days all wrong. It's always obnoxious and cutesy. Of course there are numerous writing issues but LG isn't helping at all.

Days of Our Lives: March 2022 Discussion Thread
This Renee story is so dumb. At the very least can they explain why Sarah doesn't visibly see Kristen and Tony are years older than her? I know LG is not a board favorite and she's not mine, but has she ever seen a PS Renee scene? Could she at least try to channel some of PS's mannerisms? I want to like this story a little bit because it's an actual throwback to history, but LG was the absolutely wrong choice for this. Why are Kate/Roman pushing so hard for Tripp to forgive Allie? Can they give the man five minutes to absorb the information? And Roman comparing Tripp's situation to his/John/Marlena's was oddly not helpful lol. Are Allie/Chanel John/Marlena in this?😂

Their voices aren't the same lol! I noticed that too. I think it's a cool idea to get Andrea to play Marlena's twin and certainly helped filming, but she isn't an actress and never claimed to be and it.....shows. She does fumble her lines a lot and her enunciation isn't very clear. I think if she wanted to she could have improved, but it was never her goal to be on Days long term. Sam's story and ending were dramatic and memorable, so I guess it's fine it ended when it did. I have always questioned whether they killed her off too soon, but I don't think Dee could have played both. I think her 80's work leads me to believe DH was capable, but I think it would have burnt Hall out much too fast and she would have left earlier, perhaps with Wayne. Even if she was great with Drake and the RoJohn story was good, you could feel she was a little over it pulling double duty with Days and Our House. Sidenote-Don is so chauvinistic in almost every scene I see him in. I don't dislike him at all, but, man, some of his dialogue ages horribly.

I want to say they actual went on date(s) and everything, but it went nowhere because Sam left town. I am going to say they would probably not be a great couple, judging by her sister's chemistry with Josh Taylor 😂 It still shocks me how everyone is so easily fooled by Marlena/Samantha on the show (not in this particular clip). They clearly are not identical-a viewer can easily tell them apart so I don't know what Don was thinking. People always tell me they are mirror twins in real life, but the show pretends they are identical.

I have never heard that. It's totally possible, but I have to admit I am not that great with knowledge on post-Roman/pre-John Marlena stuff outside watching the Richard Cates story. That does seem like something Marlena would do though. His name is Eric Roman right? It would be an easy switch to call him Roman Jr. or something.

Recasts You Think Could've Worked
This may be unpopular, but I don't need to see KA anywhere but on Days. She's good as Hope, but she's not anything spectacular to make another role work well. There are plenty other out of work soap actresses in her age range I would prefer to get job. The door is wide open for her at days so I just wouldn't want her anywhere else.

Recasts You Think Could've Worked
I couldn't even imagine someone like KA as Lois. LLC would be better. I always thought someone like Lisa Peluso would be good though. Brianna Brown seems like she's better as a villian and/or vixen so it's hard for me to picture her as lame Belle. That's a good one too.

General Hospital March 2022 Discussion Thread
I have often thought Liz/RH has been secretly hated by TPTB for years. And they even tried to fire her and she's just too popular. A lot of characters have been ruined over the years, but Liz seems the most puzzling. Is Lucky a JJ thing? They've recast him before. I am not against them doing it again. Or, you know, pay him the money he wants or whatever.

Actors who could/should have played other characters on their show.
Same! While thinking about this topic i first thought of MA as Sarah Horton then thought of LG as Stephanie. Kassie D as Melissa is also perfect.
