  1. ICYMI, Evacuation at Trump Tower earlier today after a suspicious backpack (which turned out to contain toys) was left unattended. Trump Tower Lobby Evacuation Sparked by Unattended Bag Filled With Children's Toys: NYPD "His newly appointed press secretary, Sean Spicer, tweeted that officials were "back to work" following the "false alarm."He added, "Thanks, NYPD." That prompted Mayor Bill de Blasio's press secretary Eric Phillips to fire back on Twitter: "No problem, we'll send you the bill." Oh boy, this is not going to be great for NYC because I have a feeling this will not be the last time for something like this.
  2. I tried to watch an episode from 1996 last year and it was so damn boring and there were some characters that I couldn't remember who the hell they were and I wasn't interested in going back to episodes early enough for me to find out. It's really sad because at a certain point after 94, you realize that ATWT becomes pretty much unwatchable, for the most part.
  3. I would've had to have seen it to believe it. It's unfortunate that ATWT was so bad during those years, I rarely even watch anything from the show's last decade, I just can't see past the poor writing.
  4. #Blocked. I shipped Craig and Sierra. It came off as totally believable that these two characters were hot for each other. They were together for such a short period of time. Lucinda and Craig were good for what they were but Lucinda would've drove Craig to murder her. Betsty might have worked and as much as I liked Lindsey, she had some anti-chemistry with quite a few characters so I don't trust that.
  5. And then Finn Carter left in '88 and I think she filmed Tremors around 88- '89 because the movie came out in 1990 (presumably after post-production). The unfortunate side of having such talented actors showcasing their talent on a well written show. They don't stick around. Considering the fact that Julianne Moore, Lindsey Frost and Scott Bryce and Finn Carter had stepped away, you'd have thought that ATWT would've worked harder to keep Hillary Bailey Smith on the show.
  6. There were other great scenes- one between Sierra and Tonio (the one that left Tonio stricken) and Tonio and Lucinda where Sierra sarcastically remarks that Lucinda should marry Tonio herself if she thinks he's such a great husband, then Sierra (or maybe Finn) adds on "Oh it would be perfect!" with the subtext implying that Lucinda and Craig were a mismatch but Lucinda and Tonio would be well suited and unlike Craig, with Tonio, Sierra wouldn't give a damn. I hated that we had that whole several months of Craig going missing, just when Sierra was hitting her stride and Finn's fierceness was top notch fiesty.
  7. Sloane Stephens, who last played in August 2015, has withdrawn from the ASB Classic in New Zealand where she was defending champion. I am told that she is still on the list for the tournament in Sydney. Wonder what this means? Ana Ivanovic has an announcement which she is scheduled to make tomorrow at 6pm UK time on Facebook live.

  9. This is for you, @Soapsuds
  10. These scenes between Craig and Lucinda just personify one of the reasons why ATWT was my favorite soap. Just watch and enjoy! These three scenes deliver so much of what is missing from today's remaining soaps. These scenes between Craig and Lucinda just drip with venom and verbal jousting. via ytCroppervia ytCroppervia ytCropper Just when you think that Craig got the upperhand and Lucinda will be duly chastened, she delivers a final jab before delivering a venomous kiss on her lips before departing. Savage! I've seen some improvement from Y&R but nothing anywhere near this level. This is what's missing from today's remaining soaps. *Note-- it's unfortunate that no matter the scene, you still get the same screen grab and the first few seconds. The software wasn't sharp enough to fix this.
  11. I know we're all sick to death of polls but this goes to show that that letter by Comey in the last week and a half or so probably did a great deal of damage to Clinton as the Clinton campaign alleged. Voters Really Did Switch To Trump At The Last Minute
  12. That'll work, too.
  13. Because 2016 feels like it never ends, Madison Keys, who is now back with Lindsay Davenport, has had wrist surgery recently and will miss the Australian Open.
  14. Yet, most Republicans were still never satisfied. God-willing, Trump will at most, have one term, so hopefully he won't top Obama's numbers.
  15. One of her deleted tweets supposedly referred to him as baby daddy, so... Interesting take on the UN Resolution against Israeli settlement building in the NYT article. The overall narrative in the article seems to be that Bibi Netanyahu is most vexed with the aspect that the resolution will force him to choose a side, instead of vacillating between hard right domestic policies, while still preaching his belief in a resolution with the Palestinians internationally. Both his rivals as well as his coalition partners within the Israeli Parliament seem to suggest that the time has come for him to stop trying to have it both ways and decide which side he's on. Israel Wonders How Long Netanyahu Can Back Settlements and Two-State Solution It must be particularly galling to Netanyahu that this came at the hands of the Obama administration, whom he thought he had outmaneuvered ages ago and took great relish to suggest as much.
  16. ^^ I remember when Republicans like Sarah Palin used to mock Obama just months into his presidency, making reference to him not 'walking on water', trying to imply that Obama thought he was a Messiah when Obama never even alluded to anything of the sort. Now the RNC is using actual language to plant seeds referencing Trump as some sort of Saviour of the Republic. JMO but Trump has more in common with King Herod than any newborn king.
  17. Oh agreed @ReddFoxx, no way would I want to perform in front of that guy and those of his ilk. It's just a shame that these women were made to feel pressure in the first place. Even though Dolan and the union have backed off publicly, I'm pretty sure these women are being obliged to perform, behind the scenes. It's sad because, securing a decent paying job in the arts is already difficult and the field of dance is one of the toughest fields of them all. Your window is relative short for performing (although dancers can last a lot longer now with more effective training and self-care methods) and the road is tenuous and arduous. If I wasn't sure just how much contempt the arts community truly holds for Trump, I'd have been really worried about these women being somehow ostracized.
  18. James Dolan, a troll without Twitter, and no doubt a buddy of Trump, tried to strong-arm the Rockettes into performing but was forced to walkback (via the sham letter sent by the union that the Rockettes are members of, while the rest of Radio City, apparently has a different union with less stringent demands) the demands. Though the Rockettes are no longer obligated to perform, of course, they will be pressured as dance jobs are difficult to come by and no one wants to be saddled with a reputation of being "difficult" to work with, especially if they are a woman. Apparently team PEOTUS is having difficulty wrangling performers for the inauguration from hell. Andrea Bocelli, who was rumored to be considering it, said no, Celine Dion never returned their calls, and Elton John said that while Trump always treated him kindly in the past, he totally disagrees with his politics and advised the transition team to go "f*cking ask Ted Nugent". So far, they've got a 16 year old girl to sing the National Anthem and the Mormon Tabernacle choir. There is currently an online petition being circulated on some parts of social media requesting that the Rockettes perform Springtime for Hitler from The Producers Musical. Actually, when I was reading those reviews on Amazon about Ivanka's boots that song and that image floated through my mind the entire time. Wonder what Mel Brooks would say. Needless to say, I won't be watching the inauguration anyway.

  20. I love HD quality videos! I appreciate all classic episodes that posted but it's just so nice not to have to squint through wavey lines and grainy video, you know? Thanks for posting!
  21. According to some Chinese speaking fans who have access to Chinese media, Li Na has given birth to a baby boy!

  23. Either folks are talking about '18 or people are truly nuts @ChitHappens Last I read, she cannot even put weight on it for at least three months. Six months is a very optimistic prognosis, IMO. We're talking about tendons and nerves-- so tricky to heal and tennis players, even ball-bashers need "feel" for the ball for drop shots and delicate volleys at net. I can't remember the last person (if ever) that I've seen win Wimbledon without those two shots alone. Petra's in positive spirits and that's a good thing but folks shouldn't go overboard, these things take time and returning too early can potentially do far more harm than good. At least Agassi had his brother who was also bald and wearing toupees and decided to shave his head after Andre did. Since male pattern baldness generally runs on the mother's side, imagine, he has to look at his father, his uncle Toni and other uncles on his father's side who all have lustrous, thick heads of hair! Yeah, but he needs to make a decision-either shave it all off or hair transplant.
  24. OMG, Rafa's hair, or should I say head?!!
