  1. Some of these EC voting scenes are quite touching to see.
  2. Sandra Lindsay is the name of the nurse.
  3. Honestly, I hope that neither has ever been on any of Biden's list for any position in a Biden administration, let alone a cabinet pick. I can see a faction of moderates trying to put in a word for Cuomo as an 'appeasement pick' of sorts, trying to claim that Cuomo would be a good 'sell' to Republicans, with most of the Democrats who would be opposed to Cuomo ensconced in the House, out of reach of a vote in the Senate. Joe's transition team has been pretty decent at vetting candidates, so I am going to take your word and chalk the Cuomo talk as a whisper campaign by his supporters.
  4. Welp, Joe can scratch Cuomo off that short-list for AG, it would appear.
  5. Just last year, I wondered whether Kumiko would make an appearance in the series sometime in the future.
  6. Not to mention, at least three civil suits in progress, possibly more. The criminal case because it carries the possibility of jail time, obviously gets more media attention.
  7. Funny enough, I am not surprised. If you look back, almost a decade ago at the Tea Party and their mouthpieces, on CNBC, etc. railing in front of the TV cameras from the trading floor of the NYSE, and how they conducted themselves throughout the Obama administration's years, you would likely have seen this coming. Trump has accelerated what was already in action. Hopefully, what many of us have been predicting will happen will also come to pass- the split and unraveling of the GOP, perhaps into obsolescence.
  8. A harbinger of things to come for a private citizen Trump? A reminder that his "pardon power" is useless for anything except federal cases, which this is not.
  9. Don Hastings may have mentioned a little bit about this, but if he did, it must have been brief. Has Rosemary Prinz been invited to any of these reunions? She has done theater live streams, so I think she would do fine with the format. She'd also be a hoot! If no one contacts her for one of these reunions, it will have been a missed opportunity.
  10. Which seems like a massive waste of one's time. Are Charles and Camila actually on social media? I thought the Royals didn't check that. It may sound a bit harsh but considering the fact that the public has only started to tolerate them as a couple about a decade ago, it would be unwise for them to be checking social media, but I just doubt they do. As long as it stays confined to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, they should be able to manage.
  11. FKA twigs has filed a lawsuit against Shia LeBeouf for abuse. Another former girlfriend of his has made similar allegations.
  12. May she R.I.P. Dame Barbara definitely left her mark. Anyone who watched a handful of Eastenders episodes knows about Peggy.
  13. So ironic that four years ago, the white supremacist in the White House tried to imply that he had to call in an exterminator to clean up after the Black president had left (I remember some troll gleefully posted his remarks on here before finally getting banned) as if the White House had somehow been contaminated. Well four years later a president Biden will really have to get a professional cleaning crew to sanitize and thoroughly clean the White House that has been contaminated and soiled by the white supremacist president. Let that sink in.
  14. The tension between Holden, Emily, Tonio and Meg was so thick you could cut it with a knife. I don't think I've ever seen Meg so relieved to see Iva! Funny how Tonio, the supposedly smart and cunning businessman seems to believe that Holden doesn't know all about the affair. Even his wife Meg knows what he's been up to. Those scenes between Angel and Caleb seem as though they were written for the sstage Very big in expression as if they were playing to the rafters. I preferred this actor who played Tuan, Lien's friend. I know Phillip Moon later took over the role but Russell Wong looks like he'd be more believable as being in Lien's age group and more likely that she'd be attracted to him. Also Wong does 'bad boy' so we'll. Also, it's clear that Lisa was Oakdale's Great Connector. If you were new in town, it was best to make her acquaintance, as she would likely introduce you to the whole town. I wish I had someone like that in my life, networking would be easy. Oh my, at those scenes with Emily with her feet propped up on the desk, looking as though she truly were in the 'cat-bird' seat. Also, I had the urge to play the Jay-Z song 'Big Pimpin' because of that reversal in that last scene when Tonio (and the viewers) witnesses his undoing. That was so good. I enjoyed the fact that Emily made up her mind that she was going to go on the offensive and unapologetically relished what she'd done. It won't last long, of course but for a moment, Emily got the drop on Tonio, who thought he was in control and had managed to put Emily in her place but the opposite happened.
  15. TASTE!! ITA, and your comments about Christine, Danny and Paul are spot-on. At least, there would have been a more logical explanation for Christine's absences-travelling with Danny on tour. Who knows? Not being tied to Christine might have freed up Paul for other storylines, like being an interloper in Lauren and Michael's marriage. As it is, all four have had scant storylines for years now.
  16. I was listening to the news on radio online this morning and heard the report on this news item. It was not an American news program, however. Sadly, it's unsurprising that U.S. media pays virtually no attention to this.
  17. Grieving is definitely a different state of being. Looking at that scene though, I think Tom was transferring his feelings of abandonment by Margo onto Nancy's relationship with Mac. In actuality, it was nobody's business but Nancy's, a grown woman. That quasi-temporary triangle between Caleb Lily and Holden didn't bother me because it seemed like a B or C storyline at best, even though I know it went on for some time, especially when Angel got added to the mix. The Meg, Tonio and Emily storyline was clearly the A storyline, with more characters involved (Betsy, Rod/Josh, even Seth and Susan). After that, it was Tom and Margo, Duncan's foolishness and Nancy. At least, that's what it seemed like to me.
  18. In that situation, he also put lives at risk by going down to 'Ground Zero' without a mask, with toxic dust swirling around. Sadly, his poor example was followed by a number of frontline workers, rescue workers, etc. who, unlike Giuliani, were not there for a brief photo-op but worked 12+ hour days inhaling toxic dust, which would eventually sicken and kill many of them. So he really didn't do what most self-respecting mayor would do--a self respecting mayor would've worn a mask and asked workers to do the same. Like I said, narcissistic and selfish trash. Speaking of narcissistic selfish trash, the corruption associated with the current occupant of the WH knows no depths, it appears.
  19. Y'all realize that Giuliani was always a terrible person, right? I'm no fan of Mike Bloomberg but even after Bloomberg was elected, Giuliani acted as if he believed he were still mayor. Speaking of being horrible at facilitating a transition to the new administration, Giuliani didn't want to get out of the way of Bloomberg. Giuliani has always been incredibly selfish and self-centered. This, after all, was the same guy who publicly dumped his wife for another woman during a news conference. I wish people would stop being surprised at who this man really is. He's always been a narcissist and an overbearing jerk.
  20. Did anybody put Ricky on the list of regrettable killing off of legacy characters? The more I think about it, the more I think that Y&R really missed an opportunity for a viable LGBTQ storyline. Just think...the grandson of Mary Williams coming out and Paul wrestling with his conservative Christian upbringing and loving his son. Instead, viewers got... that story that ended up being the end of Ricky. Let's be real, Mariah and Tessa never had a viable story involving their sexuality.
  21. It was a relief to see that this is a re-up from two years ago, because the lack of social distancing horrified me at first, sending me to look for the date of original upload. Whew! In the course of a career, three years goes by in the blink of an eye, so I can see why maybe it's not seen as being highly consequential in the scheme of things. Also, if she is predominantly NYC-based, the daytime soaps industry would have virtually no impact on her at this point, or even at anytime in recent years, especially if she had little to no contact with people still in the industry. Also, the ATWT she was on was probably worlds away from what the show was when someone like Julianne Moore was on it. So, I'm not surprised by her non-chalance.
  22. Is it true that only Ossoff showed for the debate and Perdue was a virtual no-show? I'll spare you the chicken and 'chicken run' puns.
  23. What a fun episode. Those Meg/Emily scenes are pure soapy goodness. Jennifer Ashe and Melanie Smith are so good in this battle of wills at Meg's hospital bedside. Had Jennifer Ashe stayed on, I am convinced that she/Meg would have had a much bigger imprint on the 90s ATWT. Ashe was so good at switching perspectives and emotions so quickly. At one point she looks so vulnerable and in the next moment she is turning the screws to Emily. And that look on her face when she discovers that she is actually pregnant after her public pretense is a subtle shift yet priceless. Speaking of reversals, the twists and turns in those scenes between Lucinda and Kirk were entertaining and fascinating, especially when Kirk questions Lucinda about her relationship with James Stenbeck and Lucinda is forced to admit that she was taken in by James' dark side. Suddenly, with that mysterious phone call, Lucinda looks at Kirk suspiciously. A role reversal, of sorts, between Bob and Tom with son advising a sulky father to be open-minded about Nancy's blossoming relationship with Mac. The choreography of character movements on ATWT in public spaces was second to none among daytime soaps at this time. Just take a moment to look at the blocking at the hospital, the Yacht Club, even Lucinda's office with characters moving in and out. The timing is Swiss sharp. The mention of Dusty reminded me of how irritated I was that, in later years the show decided to take a Harvard educated protoge of prominent businesswomen Lucinda Walsh and Adelaide Fitzgibbon and transform him into a two bit wannabe small-time hood. Even Brian Bloom's childhood character in 'Once Upon A Time In America' was more complex and more convincing as a gangster. Also, I was reminded of adolescent Dusty gawking at swimsuit-clad Shannon at the Yacht Club and her half surprise, half amusement at Dusty checking her out. I still believe that there are not enough episodes with other characters up on YouTube. I mean, didn't Nella work as a nurse at Memorial? Weren't she and Meg friends? Where was she? This must have been the time when Victoria Rowell was in the role and we see almost none of her on YouTube.
  24. Beware of those who drape themselves in the mantle of conservatism while casting themselves as chief critics of others.
