  1. Twitter is just having at it, where Nigel Farage is concerned. Still, I just can't help but laugh at some of the invective.
  2. I just started watching and Kassie is in the group with the Bauers but wasn't Chelsea a Reardon?
  3. Even though I haven't been able to partake of viewing lately, I want to express gratitude for all the contributors who build up the vault. It's a great thing that you're doing, especially with the true classic and vintage episodes (70s, 80s and 90s). I only wish all soap communities could be this committed and generous, in terms of preservation, storing and sharing their gems (yes, I am looking at you, ATWT).
  4. So, Jim Carrey won't be playing Joe Biden anymore (which is just as well), but why is this person using Meg Ryan's photo as her Avi? 😂
  5. Did you see the reunion livestream with HBS, GM and SB? HBS discussed the miscarriage story as being the result of the difficulties associated with having infants on set (usually having to deal with twin infant actors). She later mentioned that when "Margo" finally got pregnant again, it was after HBS just had a baby and was able to bring her baby to work with her as her character's onscreen child. The affair between Hal and Margo was seen as a way to fill in the storyline gap left by GM's exit. HBS explained that since no one (including Marland) believed that Margo would truly cheat on Tom, since Margo was so "crazy in love" with Tom, Marland wrote the beginning of the affair as initially being a result of Margo being drunk (I don't remember this, but I was a child at the time this storyline originally aired and unfortunately, like most of the juiciest ATWT episodes, it's not on YT) because Margo could not have been sober and cheated on Tom. I am convinced that had GM elected to stay or even return, there would be no drunken romp and resulting affair between Margo and Hal, because the chemistry was so strong between HBS and GM. You have to remember that GM had already left the show when the affair began. I believe that GM had made it clear that he intended to leave the show by that time, it was a question of Marland writing a way for the character to exit the canvas for a lengthy period of time. What I would've liked to know was whether Marland had ever considered not reuniting Tom and Margo after GM left the show, and put Margo and Hal together for the long haul. I suspect that he may have considered it but perhaps decided against it, seeing that a newly cast SH had enough chemistry with HBS to carry on with the pairing. Also, Tom and Margo had survived a previous recast of both characters, so there was no reason not to think they couldn't be successful again with another recast. SH was certainly no GM but the new pairing worked well enough, I guess.
  6. Was it a secret though? Someone displayed a copy of a letter they received from the Trump "campaign" and in fine print there was an LLC listed in the letter as one of the recipients of any donations. The other entity listed was the RNC and only a meager portion would be going to his "re-election" campaign. That has "Duh" written all over it.
  7. Mai Yamauchi has been Kei's girlfriend for six years ( these ATP players sure do like lengthy courtships), so I guess that was her that I saw. Don't know where I got the figure skater notion from, maybe a rumor? Anyway, congrats Kei on keeping things low-key. You've got to give the man props for discretion--he's not out here being messy with his romantic relationship like some players.
  8. From last I remembered, he was dating some figure skater or other. Last year, or two years ago, I remember seeing some woman in his box. The only thing is Kei's teeth (which he should follow Andy Murray's example and get fixed), otherwise, he'd be fine. Besides that, money tends to make people more attractive and with all his endorsements, Kei has plenty of that. Also, attractiveness is fairly subjective.
  9. People know that Kei got married, right?
  10. Unless a character is beyond redemption, I don't see the point of killing off most of these characters. Unfortunately, killing characters off on soaps has become a lazy fallback to try to wrong some drama from what is essentially a vacuum of imagination. Yes, you get your pound of drama, and if the writers are truly committed, Emmy bait, but down the road, it can be damaging to future storyline prospects. There's not much to add because so many have already mentioned characters and storylines. The only aspect that I want to mention is that reading these posts have illustrated how foolish soaps have become over the past couple decades in needlessly killing off their legacy and matriarchal characters in particular. If that's not a sure-fire way to cripple a show's prospects, I don't know what is.
  11. Okay, correction: according to what I am reading, the hack still involves more non-governmental than governmental agencies. So, there's that. What's still cause for concern is just how many of these non-governmental agencies could have links to government agencies and departments, in the form of contract work, like Solar Winds, etc. and could provide a virtual 'back-door' to certain agencies and departments within government. And Big Mouth in the White House has had absolutely nothing to say about any of this. Typical.
  12. It is probably the most expansive hack of the government's data ever. At this rate, the hacking episodes in 2015 don't compare since it affected mostly private companies. I read about this a few days ago and even then the report warned that they had not even begun to scratch the surface, especially in terms of how much data could have been accessed.
  13. Although I can definitely understand the wariness of fans of the show, having people who have a close connection to the show, is, at least, promising. If Dark Shadows can return with many iterations, so can AMC. Most importantly, I wonder if the soap blogs will keep an open mind, or will they preemptively savage the concept, like the last time? I guess I should have checked out the Primetime thread first, lol. Ouch!
  14. After Buttigeig was chosen for Transportation Secretary, I knew Biden would go with Haaland. The argument that Haaland has never run a department of that size as a means of eliminating her for contention for Secretary of the Interior fades away with the appointment of Buttigeig. Biden truly is trying to demonstrate a willingness to incorporate the various constituencies and interests within the Democratic party, a delicate balance, for sure.
  15. Sorry, I left out the crucial word "not" in my previous post. Alan suggested (or someone in the chat, I don't remember) that Fulton wouldn't be up for such an event.
  16. This is a bit concerning but from all reports, the vaccine does not contain eggs, unlike previous vaccines for flu, etc. so hopefully there will be rare instances of this type of allergic reaction happening.
  17. I would love it if Hastings, Prinz and Fulton could do a livestream via Zoom or Skype but Alan had previously intimated that Fulton might NOT be up to this, which also seems rather convenient for Alan since we know how averse he is toward any type of candor in which uncomfortable truths are told and anybody who has followed Fulton since the show's cancellation knows how deeply disrespected she felt during the final years of the show. I suspect that there would be some comparisons made between the show's early years and its final years and it might not be pretty, which Alan likely wants to avoid at all costs.
  18. Did he actually read any of those intelligence reports? Does informal adviser Ivanka and low-level clearance Jared have access to meaningful intelligence? It is not just Trump and his spawn involved, in some cases, it is also family members, like some of his siblings, as well as a cousin. SDNY operates at a different level than the feds, who were/are toothless. If SDNY can put John "The Teflon Don" (a man Trump wishes he were), Bernie Madoff and El Chapo behind bars, they have the capacity to jail Trump. It is a question of to what degree that would be.
  19. Thought that I had posted about this news item way back when, but I guess not. Needless to say, this man is vile beyond imagination.
  20. Which is why I've been saying that NYC is coming for Trump. Although AG James' case is a civil, not criminal one, if she finds any evidence of criminal activity (of which there is a good chance), she can present that evidence to DA Vance, who is conducting a criminal investigation. Also, this is yet another reason that I roll my eyes at talk about him running in 2024. Aside from the obvious aspect that had he had any true intention of running in four years, he wouldn't be trying so hard to cling to the office now (he'd simply pull a Vlad, go away while installing someone to do his bidding, while trying to stage a comeback but all indications point to someone who is desperately trying to stave off debt ( remember that $450 million?) and more lawsuits and possible jail time.
  21. I have been following her (Dr. Corbett) for several months on social media.
  22. People can be so exasperating sometimes. Unless the child's health is dire (in which case, a carefully planned socially distanced "visit" to Santa would have to be arranged), there is no morally justifiable reason for parents and their children to gather in this way.
  23. Colleen Zeno would make a good Margo Lynley, role that was originally played by Lauren Kozlow. If the show has any interest in reviving the character, which could help revamp the in Eric Forrester character by providing some interest.
