  1. I remember the direction for the ER scene being really good for "Days." We got Hope's house back then and I was shocked they gave Kayla a home set. And after being sick to death of it during the Higley/Tomlin era, I was thrilled to see the pier! LOL The crown jewel for that time was the John's father climax. The scenes where Paul was tied up and that spectacular shootout would NEVER have played like that on one of their rinky dink pos sets. Even just seeing the ceiling adds so much. Too bad the writing was mostly horrible then, lol.
  2. The brief 50th/Josh Griffith/late 2015-mid 2016 era was SUCH a visual high for the show... I know many were critical of the dark lighting and using the studio as sets, but I thought it was great. I think Corday put in his own $$ only very briefly lol.
  3. I LOVED her with Eve! (It really should've been Eve instead of Chloe butting heads with Julie at Doug's Place.) Once J&J and Frankie & Eve finally got together after the rape trial in '91, Julie quotes A Midsummer Night's Dream to signify the mixed up couples getting it right. Wish I remembered the quote. Anyway, I love her in the J&J-centric edits I've seen of this era. What's the story with SSH and Charlotte Ross?
  4. For personal reasons I won't go into here lol, this week's New York made me uncomfortable. I felt like LuAnn (really raw confession from her... those kinds of moments really ground these shows and helped to round her usually-superficial character) as the sober spectator. I've been Leah/Tinsley/Sonja more times than my alcohol-soaked brain could ever remember, but that $h!t easily could've turned... Leah and Sonja legit. trashed Ramona's yard (with something flammable) and their drunken antics fight could've quickly ended relationships. Drunk or not, if someone holds you accountable, you have to accept the consequences for saying/yelling things you can't take back. Not trying to be judgey (I relate to this all too well), but I totally understand why Leah doesn't drink. Were they testing Elyse for an apple?
  5. I agree. When someone outside the industry insults or "evaluates" a service industry worker (this does not happen like this in ANY other field), I get fiercely protective lol. You just don't have the experience or context to do that. And I'm super proud of Tom Sandoval for not forgetting where he came from. Even within the industry, it's super disappointing when a manager forgets what it was like to be a server, a server a busser, a bartender a barback, etc. You're in this together, but hierarchy and impatience can be something that plagues this industry. Anyway, totally getting off topic lol. Gosh, this reminds me of when this show was actually about the hotmess staff of a restaurant/lounge... once this show lost its authenticity (which I'd say happened after season 3), it's been a slow bleeding out... the show's premise is a blatant farce and they may as well put a pin in this monstrously misshapen balloon before it gets even more unrecognizable.
  6. Kara Keough's newborn son has passed away. Tragic. The OC cast has ideological and political views/agendas that really disgust me, but those early seasons are so great, in large part, because of Jeana, Vicky, Lauri, and Tammy's kids. The family aspect was so personal, and in some cases, tragic (Lauri and Tammy). I especially loved getting a peek into Jeana's home life with her kids (and ex), as did most of the audience. My thoughts are with Kara and her family. No one should ever have to bear this.
  7. Great read about Covid-19 and Vanderpump Rules This is really personal for me, as I worked at a bar for over 6 years, and before that, I worked at a restaurant. Totally unsurprised by Stassi's insensitive, tone deaf "joke." And if this is true about LVP, Ken, Guillermo, and Nathalie, it's emblematic of the attitude a lot of bar/restaurant owners ultimately have for their staff. And I'm proud of the Toms for doing something. We keep on hearing about the hardship small business owners are facing right now, with little coverage of how totally screwed ALL the people who work for them are. People have a lot of opinions about this industry, and I've accepted that if you haven't worked in the service industry, you usually just don't and can't understand it.
  8. Yaasss! Lolol Teddi is so full of crap.
  9. NY: So far, I'm really enjoying Leah. However, I'm getting a bad feeling that could change at some point. Hope I'm wrong. I don't know what's up with Dorinda; I don't know if she's making excuses for being a witch with really serious anger, substance, and accountability issues, or if she suffers from serious pressure and has never dealt with it since Richard's death. She's tough--she can be the best and worst person in the span of just a few moments. Whatever is going on, she ought to adjust her attitude--it's a really bad look. Ramona and LuAnn are basically doing and saying all the right things after seriously character assassinating themselves last season. But from the previews, it looks like Lu loses it next week. Hope there's more to the situation. I'm a real big LuAnn fan, despite everything. Sonja gave an enlightening interview about Tinsley claiming RHoNY begins and ends as a job for her and she's inauthentic about her life on-camera and doesn't associate with the women at all off-camera. Carole took a LOT of heat when she said she and Tinsley weren't close and basically insinuated that they only had a show relationship (it came off kind of horrifying)... but maybe she was keeping it 100. Wonder what she'd have to say about this? But who knows, maybe Tinsley stays away because of her experience with Carole?? I know Bethenny got together with Tinsley twice in Florida last year, but I think that had a lot to do with sticking it to Carole. Tinsley has grown on me but I wouldn't be surprised at all if she gets majorly exposed by the reunion. Even though Tinsley isn't necessarily compelling tv, her life story, on paper, up until RHoNY is incredibly juicy and fascinating, lol... if only she were as interesting as she reads on paper, lol. Overall so happy to NY right now.
  10. I still think Kathy's mother, Maria's comment was shown out of context. The editors cut RIGHT after she said that, iirc. It seems fishy to me, and the other cast members know how this all works. Teresa (and her parents) just needed (another) reason. They should have had better sense to not film that sentencing "reaction" segment with Jacqueline, though. That was very emblematic of the problems between the families--little decency, respect, and common sense. And I agree that Teresa was never looking back. It is sad for Rosie/Rich/Kathy/Joey/Melissa, though, who did have a very close relationship. And this affects their kids, too... it all cycles. Ugh man. Thank God Joey was able to somehow reconcile with his parents (and Teresa) before all this. So sad.
  11. I feel sad about Teresa and Joe's father. Regardless of everything, Teresa has had a horrific last few years. The whole Gorga family has. I'm particularly devastated for Kathy and Rosie's mother, who likely never got to make amends with her brother and say goodbye. This whole family had endured such trauma for so long. I hope it brings everyone together, but idk... at least I hope Joey and Kath/Ro can put everything aside and comfort him. Generations of hurt. My thoughts are with them all.
  12. Wooow, Dorinda. Lol. New York is off to a great start!
  13. Danielle got crushed. She is a lunatic, but that was tragic. It was rough seeing them giggle when she explained why she was leaving a place she was unwanted--they exposed themselves as bullies but Danielle still left a loser. Tough to watch. And Teresa got away with murder... but she was right, she should have never got involved with Danielle.
  14. I think LVP, Kyle, and Rinna staged a plot to expose Yolanda (I don't have an opinion on Yolanda's Lyme) and then Rinna was left holding the bag and LVP and Kyle let her go down for it alone. I get why Rinna hates LVP, I just don't get how Kyle slithered out of that (and everything). She sorta copped to it but she and Rinna blamed LVP, who I no doubt think instigated it... but they all decided to do it and Rinna got talked in to doing the dirty work. It's the same story as Brandi and where there's smoke there's usually fire. But they always picked the dumbest s to "get" her on. But it's all over now, and like you said, LVP won with the (overwhelming) majority of the audience.
  15. LVP is obviously untouchable. Despite the BH Housewives' and Andy's spin, she has completely, totally, unquestionably won this show and I wonder if they know or delude themselves to buy the bs they're selling? I think the way to have actually taken her down (and who knows if anything could really touch Vanderpump's teflon booty) was Yolanda's Lyme disease, but then Rinna and Kyle would have implicated themselves in the plot to ruin Yolanda. I hope Rinna doesn't actually try to destroy Denise this year (everything is pointing to that, though) and further sully herself. Brandi obviously has learned nothing from her disgrace in seasons prior, lol.
  16. I have only watched since s5 (as a soap fan, I started for Rinna and Eileen)... everything earlier, I have only seen clips. From seasons 3-4, it was really sad to see Yolanda stage mom-ing Gigi and not letting her eat food. YIKES. From what I've seen of the Ken thing--he did put his hands on her and spoke disgustingly to her (like he's done about Rinna). I can't have have any sympathy for him because he somehow gets away with murder for being a truly vile, hateful little troll. But with that, "my husband..." comment, she really tipped her hand--she is not the humble earth mother she was pretending to be. She knows this fame and fortune game and she likes to think she's winning. I do think she plays much more gracefully than others, though. And she did bring such legitimacy to this franchise through her husband, later with her kids, her modeling career, and her style. She is the real deal. She and Vanderpump are such opposites, and they both envy what the other has, because it's exactly what they lack. In my opinion, everything about Lisa is garish and classless... you can look at Villa Rosa and compare it to Yolanda's Malibu house (or her new farm, or any of her other homes), and I think it speaks volumes about how different their aesthetics and presentation are. Lisa seemed very envious. But Yolanda was probably even more envious of how Lisa really enjoyed herself and effortlessly charms people (esp. men) and entertains with such ease and fun. I hope Yolanda is enjoying that amazing farm in Pennsylvania, because she always sort of tragically felt like she was struggling to have fun, despite her claims to the contrary. But she's with another rich guy, lolol. But I think she wants to be that humble earth mother, and it was lovely to see her with her family in Holland and her life is lifestyle porn. It was very heartless of Yolanda to publicly drop Brandi, though. Even if she thought she was a hot mess she didn't want to deal with anymore post-BH, she didn't have to publicly denounce her with all the other women. Her relationship with Erika was random, but actually helped them both and I'm curious how they felt about each other then and now.
  17. BH s5 is amazing. And because of Billie Reed, I'll always love Lisa Rinna... but if she's going to OWN IT, she should own that during that season, she full knowingly turned Kim's relapse into THE story on the show for years. Kim is responsible for herself (even if Kim doesn't think that), but Rinna point blank did that. She knows how reality tv works. And I know it's unpopular on here, but I really like Yolanda for the most part. It's hard for me to get excited about BH because I really don't like any of the women except for Rinna, and I don't like how snakey she is and I hate her home storyline with her daughters (more Harry and Lois!). I really enjoy Denise, though. I hope this is the year their ridiculous pact to protect each other (with everyone's lawsuits, etc.) ends. I hope we can count on a scorned Camille and thirsty Brandi for that. But I am not looking forward to the defenestration of Denise, who was the breakout star since Erika.
  18. Jennifer was SO overboard tonight. It was insane. I'm surprised she went wishy washy on the Melissa pregnancy segment because she gave zero f*cks about everything else she was saying... and she wiggled out of her obviously shady comment about Marge's parenting. Maybe somebody coached her to lay off the parenting stuff. This show has dangerously veered off into "what kind of family are YOU?" territory. Jennifer had me rofl when she unironically said she thought she was a very patient person. Those kind of ignorant, lack of self-awareness moments are amazing on all HW shows. But for as insufferable as she was, she was shutting down the other couch in a Caroline Manzo-esque effective ass way. Even Marge didn't know how to respond back to her, lol.
  19. Melissa (and Joey) tried to dismantle Teresa's entire life because they were jealous of her fame and Joey wanted lash out at his sister and parents on tv where any of then can rewind this stuff for the rest of their lives. Melissa & Joey successfully infiltrated Teresa's life and took most of her support, then disgustingly turned on all the people they enlisted to turn on her when Joey finally came to his senses that it was enough after Joe & Teresa wrecked their and their daughters' lives and Melissa decided it would suit her image to "let bygones be bygones." I hate them because of their overwhelming hypocrisy and how they cowardly threw away their cousins like garbage. And it was ultimately Jacqueline's fault for getting involved in someone else's family drama, but she turned on Teresa to defend Melissa to the death and Melissa didn't lift a finger for her in season 7. It was stunning. I do agree that Teresa owes her place as the star of NJ because of Bravo's decision to center the show around her family drama. Interesting but very true take.
  20. I agree that Danielle has the Facebook messages saved. Once Bravo and Teresa decided to stop the Gorga feud as the centerpiece of the show after "camp," Melissa got off so easy with everyone just "forgetting" about seasons 3-5. The only reason I can think why Jacqueline and Kathy aren't exposing her (because they have to know EVERYthing, esp. Kathy and Rosie) is because they'd be seriously implicating themselves in God knows what. And hopefully after everything, Kathy and Rosie don't want to further disrupt their broken family, esp. while Teresa&Joey1.0 (K&R's mom and Teresa & Joey's dad) are still alive. And Dina knows a lot more than she's saying, as we saw in the S6 reunion. But she likely wants to keep her self-proclaimed "moral high ground" and even more likely doesn't want Melissa to spill what she knows about her/Caroline/Chris. And unless she really blows her top sky high one day, Dolores isn't going to say anything. But Danielle has nothing left to lose--show the messages! But Danielle doesn't even have the later information like the others, though. After all these years as a viewer, I just really, really, really want Melissa to be exposed for the grimey, disloyal snake that she is. And I'm not a Teresa fan. This is just about justice, and show-wise, Melissa (and Joey) came out of this pretty unscathed while Teresa (and Joe) were characterized as very evil people and Jacqueline and Kathy ultimately lost all their face and their jobs. I wonder if Melissa even fully understands how lucky she is and how quickly she could still lose everything??
  21. Anything with Danielle in the first two years was very, very sad. S2 Posche fashion show is stunning. It's easy to overlook her, but from the beginning of that confrontation after there was no turning back, you can see Jacqueline come into the side of the frame to back up Teresa with that "her house is not in foreclosure!" and then she follows them... and then the "I read your court records Danielle!... that you beat someone with a 9 millimeter pistol..." And then when she's folding her arms across her chest outside of the car!!! And Daniel's hysterically screaming and crying on 911, "and Jacqueline Laurita's WAITIN' for me owtside mYY car!" And notice how she refers to Ashlee as "Jacqueline Laurita's daughter" to the police. OMG s2 gives me life!!! But I overlooked how harrowing it all was (for Danielle and what it said about all of them as people) and it laid the groundwork for the sicko show NJ became from seasons 3-5, and even season 6 with those ratchet twins and demonic Jim & Amber. I really enjoy Margaret. I kinda didn't like her at first because Siggy self destructed like a very defective robot because of her... but that was on Siggy and her weird, ultimately fragile self-image she felt she had to maintain (still love Siggy, though). But The Marge is so fun, but she misguidedly aligned herself with Danielle in the first place and problems follow her wherever she goes. Usually at a certain point, that stops being coincidence.
  22. Joe & Teresa have been exploiting their family for $$ for a long, long time... remember all that magazine sh!t? It's unfortunately probably the only way they've gotten out of their horrible legal/financial mess. Teresa is going to need to keep hustling to put her daughters through college, maintain their lifestyle, and God knows what Joe will try to "negotiate" if and when they get divorced. But no one in that whole Gorga family is any better. These are people who wrecked their whole family on/for television. Seasons 3-5 are heartbreaking, and more than the christening or retreat, the scene that really stays with me is Tre & Ro screaming about their parents in that bar. Teresa, Melissa, Kathy, and their families have no scruples.
  23. LOLOL about Kim D.!!!!! I think Danielle is a psychopath--she well proved that in s2. But there is something SO tragic about her. I do think that she experienced really deep pain at losing Jacqueline in s2 and she was bullied by Dina (the real b*tch on this show), Caroline, and Teresa... but she mishandled everything, including sorta kinda threatening to KILL them at some point. OMFG lol. But I question her authenticity since her return. She's had real moments come through a lot, but she's definitely playing for the cameras. But the Marge falling out has been like watching a multiple car crash with fatalities on the freeway. Wow. There is more to Margaret than HW is showing.
  24. It's mind blowing. But Teresa and Danielle becoming friends after seasons 1 & 2 was... I can't even articulate how WTF that was. Danielle is stupid again, though, for leaving and letting them off the hook essentially. She foolishly thinks she's set with Marty's house and she'll use Housewives to launch a successful cooking career. She won't and she'll be as desperate as she was in seasons 1-2 until she married Marty. I think Danielle is certifiable, but I feel bad for how down and out she always becomes.
