Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Sonja obviously wants Tinsley to worship her because she “got her on the show.” Lol. What’s not funny is that Sonja actually believes that. She’s delightful and I usually love her, but just because her publicist or whoever convinced her to reel in her rather psychotic delusions on camera, doesn’t mean she’s not still that way. And she’s cute about it but she’s pretty scathing in her interviews and behind the others’ backs, which is something she hated about Carole.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I don't know how Denise could have come back. She already has such a chip on her shoulder and Aaron is obviously not going to behave and Denise would never let the other women and production come for him a la PK. The other women are totally blowing this out of proportion; everyone knows they don't give a f about Brandi . . . very early in the season after the fallout from Denise's pizza party, they decided they were gonna take her down. Plain and simple. This has Kyle's dirty hands all over it--SHE dragged in Kim and Brandi! And Teddi, Erika, and Rinna gleefully cosigned. Out of some really misplaced paranoia and insecurity, Erkia and Teddi felt Denise was coming for them . . . and then Brandi "confirmed" it. (They all have reason to take issue with Aaron, though . . . and from experience, Erika does NOT play with the $h!t. And she shouldn't.) Rinna, otoh, just sold the last bit of soul she had left to betray Denise and not be left out of this year's A story. Really shameful, and I used to love her. I loved Garcelle for Garcelle. Admittedly, I don't think she was necessarily the best modern hw because she clearly didn't get very invested and she was mostly doing her own thing. (Probably why she was so likable! LOL) She reminded me of the earlier seasons that focused more on the 'wives individually. But it was disappointing at the reunion (so far) that she's letting the other women get away with their $h!t because she understands how the editing and production is . . . kinda against her, esp. with Rinna. She's rolling her eyes instead of setting the record straight. But this has been an eye-opening year with BRAVO to say the least. As many have already mentioned, Dorinda/John/Scott/Tinsley is a big, if not the biggest, offender. While it only cut out a scene of psycho drama from s11, not including it framed the s12 drama totally differently re. Dorinda's character, her relationship and breakup with John, and viscous feud with Tinsley. Leaving that out was HUGE and I didn't think they'd do that for anyone except Bethenny. It makes you see how much they can distort the story . . . and if Tinsely didn't finally blow this truth bomb, would it NEVER have come up??? LOL. This kind of reminds me Teresa/Caroline on NJ. When they went to Punta Cana in s3, Joe got in a fight with someone at a bar and Caroline's sons, Albie and Chris, started beating this guy up with Joe. The guy sued them, the production company, and BRAVO. While that was never brought up probably because of legal issues, it was obviously the real basis for Caroline starting to hate Teresa . . . and to this day no one can bring it up. Ugh omg lol.

Oh totally, they wouldn't save her. But if they applied for and received the loans, I'm just curious how they spent them. I will admit to being totally biased in my suspicion of restaurant/bar owners--I worked in the service industry for nearly seven years and, from my experience as a non-management employee, that industry is SHADY AF (with the worker always getting screwed). Ultimately, I know it's a "hate the game, not the player" situation--the service industry in America is designed for owners to pass the real salary of their employees to the customer via tips and unless you're a mega corporate chain, tradition let's you get away with offering little to usually NO benefits. And job security is nonexistent. But it is so legitimately hard for any restaurant to stay open. Under the right conditions, bars have it easier, but not the high end ones. The hospitality and service and airline/tourism industries have been decimated. I would argue smaller family owned restaurants and dive bars and nightclubs are in as bad shape as high end luxury dining. I mean everyone's screwed. LVP will ultimately be fine though (probably and hopefully), her 100+ employees, though . . . not so much. Unemployment is running out and the industry is basically defunct for the moment; many in the service industry have no experience elsewhere and finding other work is going to be next to impossible considering everyone will be vying for the same jobs.

The operating costs are probably too high for the limited capacity she'd be serving. She is better off that her three places have patios and she wouldn't have to rely on sidewalk seating only. But she'd maybe be operating at 10% of her previous intake. In San Francisco, many restaurants and bars have reopened for super limited sidewalk seating, but from my old coworkers at the bar I used to work at, they're making very little money. What LVP was eligible for were the PPP loans. I know my old boss got a $1 million PPP loan from public record (he has two bars and a restaurant), but he didn't pay out one cent to payroll, which is the major purpose of them. MANY business owners misused them. I'd be interested in hearing what her, Ken, Nathalie, and Guillermo's (even Tom and Tom's) situation is with those loans. At the beginning of the mandatory shutdown, the Todds and N&G weren't paying anyone anything and their employees all had to rely on unemployment. The Toms set some fundraising situation up for their employees and matched it to a point. Which was amazing; glad Tom Sandoval didn't forget where he came from.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Ya this Scott/Tinsley/Dorinda/John tea is HOT. I have a feeling everyone but Ramona will be too scared of Dorinda to go much further down this road in next week's installment. There was also a trip to Dubai with the 4 of them + Carole & Adam that went very wrong that I bet somehow plays into all this, too. I would love Carole's reaction to this Dorinda/Tinsley feud, but out of protection for Dorinda, I doubt Carole would give her 2 cents, as Dorinda wound up being such an ally to her. And Carole got so much flack for denouncing Tinsley, but I think there was more to that now than Carole just being heartless . . . these shows all have more BTS drama and production shenanigans than we can imagine. It's not just BH lolol. Heather was on WWHL tonight and if it was an audition for season 13, she didn't do so hot. Which is too bad, because I love her.

BH this week was meh. The only one worth anything was Dorit. Gawd how far she has come. Kyle unfortunately deflected so much and so loud that she got them to skip over her bull$h!t right onto how Dorit defamed her business. Dorit was shady but if Kyle gave a damn about her line, she never would have filmed that unprepared; she KNOWS how this goes and willingly made a fool out of herself in front of the cameras. So instead of acknowledging lashing out at Dorit, Erika, etc., Dorit had to apologize for discrediting her. I was disappointed in Garcelle for not going toe to toe with Rinna and Teddi; she just let them have her their moment. She should have brought up how the scene was edited down and shown out of context and that they were making an opportunity to go against her because she's #teamdenise. But she should have known better than to touch the kids; it never goes well. As for Andy . . . he got mad--NOT a good look and it blows his credibility even further as "moderator." However, even though I'm on her team, Denise is full of $h!t. She's Trump style blatantly lying and pathologically diverting the conversation to where she wants it to be. On top of that, she's trying (and succeeding?) to hold production hostage. I get why this must be frustrating for all involved. But The Coven (really Kyle!) came for the wrong b!tch. Denise is owning them. NY was ok tonight. Tinsley for MVP with that Scott/John bomb! Dorinda and Ramona are unsurprisingly making themselves look disgustingly horrible. Leah is a gift. It's nice seeing LuAnn so together after years of countess delusion, drunken abandon, and cabaret delusion, but she needs to bring it harder considering the OG purge! lol. Sonja didn't do much, either, and she clearly will also only acknowledge what she feels like acknowledging when she feels like acknowledging it. She either owes Tinsley an apology, too, or owes the audience a better explanation for her disdain for her. I'm hoping this revs up next week.

When Vicki imploded at the reunion, I was so happy she finally got everything that was coming to her and humiliated herself in the befittingly ugly way that IS Vicki. But I am pretty heartbroken for Dorinda. I'm one of the few that always saw her rage and cruelty and was shocked she got away with it unscathed . . . but there was always SO much to LOVE about her. This is a sad, sad way for such a great 'wife to go out. And she evidently sealed her fate at the reunion. What a shame. For Dorinda's sake, I hope there's more to the Tinsley story we're not privy to . . . because it makes zero sense that she lost her mind (job, and good name) over that silly socialite. There has to be more to the story; I heard D, T, and Carole (and John, Scott, and Adam) had a terrible trip to Dubai . . . maybe it all started then??? Who knows, lol.

BH reunion is off to a good start! I love Garcelle and Sutton! And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Dorit has more than won me over. Now... apart from that nonsense with Garcelle, Kyle is playing it safe and kinda left the others out to hang dry—it’s too little too late, but she understands they don’t have the audience behind them and while it’s too late to pivot, she’s just being noncommittal. WEAK. How the f did Teddi become so smug?!? Ugh, her transformation from door mouse to obnoxiously overconfident hasn’t made her any more relevant or interesting. Despite my never ending love for Billie Reed, I’m done with Lisa Rinna—she has completely sold her soul. Erika really had me at a loss—she did most of the heavy lifting in her convoluted quest to nail Denise. Is she worried about her diamond or something or does she think Denise actually tried to mastermind her “takedown”?!? But even though I’m firmly on Team Denise f*cking Richards and The Coven are awful (and tactless after last year’s LVP debacle), Denise is obviously a liar and completely untrustworthy. The problem is what Rinna said—the coverup is (WAY!) worse than the crime and Denise is lucky she has the audience behind her because she’s not playing fair, either. I get that she’s reacting to be very legitimately targeted (because of how misconstrued and blown out of proportion the kids thing got), but she IS lying a lot and taking legal action to (try) to take back control of the narrative. Maybe The Coven are just pissed that she outmaneuvered them and beat them in the court of public approval (again after LVP lolol), but Denise IS basically doing all the things they’re accusing her of and clearly plans to accept zero accountability. Sooo... lol. Can’t wait for parts 2 and 3. BH has had such bad seasons since 6 or so, but their reunions always deliver.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I always thought “Clip! Clip!...” was about something else, revealing Dorinda’s worse impulses. I could be completely paranoid, but I worked at a bar for over 6 years and for a couple of those years, I had coat check shifts. Dorinda HATED Sonja that year (because to pay her back for cutting her out of the Blue Stone Manor, S called D out for recreationally doing coke) and took every opportunity to mercilessly shame her. At the Italian restaurant in Queens, Dorinda was being cruel about Sonja’s past as a hostess/coat check attendant and I think that iconic “Clip!...” tirade was about Sonja in coat check taking rich people’s (like her, Ralph, and Richard) stuff and clipping the claim ticket to it. Dorinda was evidently still drunk from the night before and claims “Clip!...” just came to her randomly and meant stfu, but this has always been my theory. I’m conflicted about Slurrrinda. She is a disgusting bully on one hand, but a lovely woman with SO much heart on the other. She’s the real enigma wrapped in a riddle and cash on all the hw shows. And even though it was a precursor for the horror to come, nothing was better than when they’d have to subtitle her when she’d throw her arms up. “You better back that $h!t up because I said you said I said you did back it up!” Or whatever it was! Lolol!

DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
I think the Salem Strangler started with the radio show, but this is way before my time. One of the only good things I think Tom Langan (as head writer) did for Marlena was reviving the radio show, which tied into the original Hattie story. I remember Nancy temporarily filled in for her and the ratings surged, lolol. (This kind of stuff where Nancy was vying for everyone else's successes at the hospital was the only good use of the character, imo.) But the radio show revival was also sadly tied up with the insane Brady feud, Marlena using Roman, and being SO angry at John/Hope 24/7. Langan wrote really hateful, destructive material for all the vets--it was crazy.

Ya this Elyse situation is beyond bizarre. I don't know if they were full-on testing her or knew she'd be a "friend" from the jump, but she is a dud who is not getting the memo lol. However, the two times she's spoken up, she has spoken up--first calling wasted Sonja her ex's "accessory" and then calling out LuAnn/Dorinda out for the vodka. She was annoying and judgey af, but she was right in the context of both scenes. And they gave her a talking head, so she either keeps dropping bombs or she's just physically there so much they accepted they had to interview her? It's interesting that while Sonja and Dorinda don't seem to be crazy about her, they're super familiar with her and both have really opened up to her while drunk. I have trouble seeing her keep up with Ramona's antics irl lol. I am still totally here for Leah. They are showing her full life and it is messy... I'm getting all kinds of shady vibes from her, but I appreciate her "redemption" story and empathize that despite how far she's come, it's like everyone is expecting her life to become a trainwreck without a conductor again. She feels old-school OC 'wife to me and I love it. And she's hella funny. I wish they'd show the other women this 360. Anyway, loving NY. I LOVED seeing Jacques!!! I was sad production gave him such a dopey edit and Ramona and Sonja had little reaction to initially seeing him... he was a big part of the show as far as boyfriends/husbands go on NY... Sonja and Dorinda are the ones to watch for me so far from a narrative standpoint. But we know Tinsley of all people will probably get the bulk of focus during the latter half because of Scott/dipping out.

DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
I remember the direction for the ER scene being really good for "Days." We got Hope's house back then and I was shocked they gave Kayla a home set. And after being sick to death of it during the Higley/Tomlin era, I was thrilled to see the pier! LOL The crown jewel for that time was the John's father climax. The scenes where Paul was tied up and that spectacular shootout would NEVER have played like that on one of their rinky dink pos sets. Even just seeing the ceiling adds so much. Too bad the writing was mostly horrible then, lol.

I LOVED her with Eve! (It really should've been Eve instead of Chloe butting heads with Julie at Doug's Place.) Once J&J and Frankie & Eve finally got together after the rape trial in '91, Julie quotes A Midsummer Night's Dream to signify the mixed up couples getting it right. Wish I remembered the quote. Anyway, I love her in the J&J-centric edits I've seen of this era. What's the story with SSH and Charlotte Ross?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
For personal reasons I won't go into here lol, this week's New York made me uncomfortable. I felt like LuAnn (really raw confession from her... those kinds of moments really ground these shows and helped to round her usually-superficial character) as the sober spectator. I've been Leah/Tinsley/Sonja more times than my alcohol-soaked brain could ever remember, but that $h!t easily could've turned... Leah and Sonja legit. trashed Ramona's yard (with something flammable) and their drunken antics fight could've quickly ended relationships. Drunk or not, if someone holds you accountable, you have to accept the consequences for saying/yelling things you can't take back. Not trying to be judgey (I relate to this all too well), but I totally understand why Leah doesn't drink. Were they testing Elyse for an apple?

BRAVO: Vanderpump Rules
I agree. When someone outside the industry insults or "evaluates" a service industry worker (this does not happen like this in ANY other field), I get fiercely protective lol. You just don't have the experience or context to do that. And I'm super proud of Tom Sandoval for not forgetting where he came from. Even within the industry, it's super disappointing when a manager forgets what it was like to be a server, a server a busser, a bartender a barback, etc. You're in this together, but hierarchy and impatience can be something that plagues this industry. Anyway, totally getting off topic lol. Gosh, this reminds me of when this show was actually about the hotmess staff of a restaurant/lounge... once this show lost its authenticity (which I'd say happened after season 3), it's been a slow bleeding out... the show's premise is a blatant farce and they may as well put a pin in this monstrously misshapen balloon before it gets even more unrecognizable.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Kara Keough's newborn son has passed away. Tragic. The OC cast has ideological and political views/agendas that really disgust me, but those early seasons are so great, in large part, because of Jeana, Vicky, Lauri, and Tammy's kids. The family aspect was so personal, and in some cases, tragic (Lauri and Tammy). I especially loved getting a peek into Jeana's home life with her kids (and ex), as did most of the audience. My thoughts are with Kara and her family. No one should ever have to bear this.

BRAVO: Vanderpump Rules
Great read about Covid-19 and Vanderpump Rules This is really personal for me, as I worked at a bar for over 6 years, and before that, I worked at a restaurant. Totally unsurprised by Stassi's insensitive, tone deaf "joke." And if this is true about LVP, Ken, Guillermo, and Nathalie, it's emblematic of the attitude a lot of bar/restaurant owners ultimately have for their staff. And I'm proud of the Toms for doing something. We keep on hearing about the hardship small business owners are facing right now, with little coverage of how totally screwed ALL the people who work for them are. People have a lot of opinions about this industry, and I've accepted that if you haven't worked in the service industry, you usually just don't and can't understand it.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
NY: So far, I'm really enjoying Leah. However, I'm getting a bad feeling that could change at some point. Hope I'm wrong. I don't know what's up with Dorinda; I don't know if she's making excuses for being a witch with really serious anger, substance, and accountability issues, or if she suffers from serious pressure and has never dealt with it since Richard's death. She's tough--she can be the best and worst person in the span of just a few moments. Whatever is going on, she ought to adjust her attitude--it's a really bad look. Ramona and LuAnn are basically doing and saying all the right things after seriously character assassinating themselves last season. But from the previews, it looks like Lu loses it next week. Hope there's more to the situation. I'm a real big LuAnn fan, despite everything. Sonja gave an enlightening interview about Tinsley claiming RHoNY begins and ends as a job for her and she's inauthentic about her life on-camera and doesn't associate with the women at all off-camera. Carole took a LOT of heat when she said she and Tinsley weren't close and basically insinuated that they only had a show relationship (it came off kind of horrifying)... but maybe she was keeping it 100. Wonder what she'd have to say about this? But who knows, maybe Tinsley stays away because of her experience with Carole?? I know Bethenny got together with Tinsley twice in Florida last year, but I think that had a lot to do with sticking it to Carole. Tinsley has grown on me but I wouldn't be surprised at all if she gets majorly exposed by the reunion. Even though Tinsley isn't necessarily compelling tv, her life story, on paper, up until RHoNY is incredibly juicy and fascinating, lol... if only she were as interesting as she reads on paper, lol. Overall so happy to NY right now.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I still think Kathy's mother, Maria's comment was shown out of context. The editors cut RIGHT after she said that, iirc. It seems fishy to me, and the other cast members know how this all works. Teresa (and her parents) just needed (another) reason. They should have had better sense to not film that sentencing "reaction" segment with Jacqueline, though. That was very emblematic of the problems between the families--little decency, respect, and common sense. And I agree that Teresa was never looking back. It is sad for Rosie/Rich/Kathy/Joey/Melissa, though, who did have a very close relationship. And this affects their kids, too... it all cycles. Ugh man. Thank God Joey was able to somehow reconcile with his parents (and Teresa) before all this. So sad.
-
Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I feel sad about Teresa and Joe's father. Regardless of everything, Teresa has had a horrific last few years. The whole Gorga family has. I'm particularly devastated for Kathy and Rosie's mother, who likely never got to make amends with her brother and say goodbye. This whole family had endured such trauma for so long. I hope it brings everyone together, but idk... at least I hope Joey and Kath/Ro can put everything aside and comfort him. Generations of hurt. My thoughts are with them all.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Danielle got crushed. She is a lunatic, but that was tragic. It was rough seeing them giggle when she explained why she was leaving a place she was unwanted--they exposed themselves as bullies but Danielle still left a loser. Tough to watch. And Teresa got away with murder... but she was right, she should have never got involved with Danielle.
