  1. Loathe Hogan as I do, I should point out Goutman made that choice a year or so before Hogan arrived. I agree with you about Daryl and Frannie. I don't think they hired MADD to destroy the soaps - I think they genuinely thought the soaps needed her touch because she'd done well at ABC. But ABC is not P&G, and they never understood this. GL was already rotgut by the time of her arrival - it's her comment about Zaslow that I can never forgive. And AW was already on the way out. But ATWT - that show was driven even further into the ground by MADD and FMB.
  2. Gavin was sent to prison for his various crimes. He mostly hung around by this point as a reason for Barbara to panic because she had lied that he was Jennifer's father and she was sure he would tell Daryl and Frannie the truth. (Colleen Zenk disliked the Gavin/Barbara pairing and felt that Barbara was written as an idiot throughout) The show likely would have wanted to keep Daryl (they changed him from being the killer for that reason), but Rex Smith wanted to leave, as did Mary Ellen Stuart. Supposedly they would have recast Frannie if Marland hadn't died. Connor was sunk by idiotic decisions from MADD and Felicia Minei Behr (who wanted to hire a friend from ABC daytime and chose Connor as they likely assumed the character had no vocal fans - oops) more than by the Kasnoffs, as much as I disliked that family. I wish more of the takeover was around too - it riveted me at the time. I still remember the scenes of a defeated Lucinda the next day, her only real comfort being at the stables with her horse.
  3. It's not a bad story (although I haven't seen all of it either) but it's very repetitive and full of some dry characters. I think they miscast Gavin (twice) and he should have been a more interesting foil than he turned out to be. It's all watchable enough - 1991 and 1992 were for the most part strong years for ATWT - but it's a bit of a chore to get through for me. The little moments, like Julie and Lisa, or Andy trying to joke a bit in the scenes with Julie and Lisa, or Jessica saying spring is on the way, or Tom talking about how the baby lies remind him of Adam - that's the ATWT I miss most of all.
  4. The uploader was nice enough to let me put it on Youtube. I tried to mostly edit the commercials out. It's a dense episode in what was probably ATWT's densest year, but the Lucinda scenes are fun as always. I hope Mitch still posts here, as I'd enjoy his thoughts...
  5. The ratings for BH aren't that good either, but I'm not sure if NeNe could save any show these days. I think she's mostly part of the past.
  6. Thanks. That must have been a poor story...
  7. Thanks for all you've been posting. I was surprised that they were as generous as they've been, so I'm not surprised if they want it cut off. At least we got some good stuff. And I'm very happy to know Dana is filming.
  8. March 1992 episode. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2xpc25_as-the-world-turns-march-6-1992-wlyh-tv-15_tv
  9. I didn't watch GL for very long (spring 1989 to summer 1992) but I'm glad I did for those great years. Sometimes I wish that was the only period I'd watched the show (well that and going back to the past years). I'd like to forget so much of 1993-2009.
  10. DM is so confusing - it's one of the reasons I've never uploaded there.
  11. Great find. I see that they also have an ATWT episode. Thanks as always.
  12. I think I could take Jai with different material. The pseudo-Dallas-meets-Miami Vice stuff he gets just doesn't work for me. Today the snorting coke scenes made me laugh. I don't know how you play that. With that said, I am enjoying seeing Priya and Rishi pushing back. I agree with the fans who said the breakup was rushed, but I was still so upset with the Alicia and David final scenes - Natalie Anderson acted her heart out. I'm going to miss Alicia. I'm not sure what they'll do with David now. I almost wish he'd gone with her. Adam and Victoria not seeing Vanessa on the side of the road was ludicrous, but good acting from her in the hospital scenes. And I'm glad Victoria got some POV for once. The guy playing the doctor was hilariously bad though. Eric seeing Val's dog (Cheryl) at her grave got me a little emotional. So what do you think of Kirin and Belle?
  13. Chris Bisson signed a year-long contract sometime this summer.
  14. What happened to ruin ViB?
  15. Thanks. Not great but not bad.
  16. It's kind of weird seeing them with the LFB photo when we know she will have nothing to do with the revival.
  17. I have a feeling if she came back it might be for a Jimmy story. Knowing ED and Jimmy in recent years, she too would have his long-lost child. Home Farm looks and feels out of place and cheap these days. I really miss the cozy old office set, often with a receptionist (the best being Edna). The current perpetually empty office (we see [!@#$%^&*] SAM in there more than we see anyone else) and vacuous mansion (with no location shots whatsoever) only solidifies the out of placeness. Then there's Chrissie the perpetually whining victim, and Lawrence the sap. You know I never would have thought John Bowe would have sexual chemistry with men, and maybe the show has no plans to ever go there with him and Bowe may not even want to go there, but I wish they'd just try an actual triangle with Lawrence, Bernice and a man. Hell, if it were me, I would have had him sleep with Robert while Chrissie was away. As for Lachlan, unless he gets intense therapy I don't want to see him at all. The actor is more than capable, he's actually very good, but the attempts to whitewash him are not enough for me.

This is so embarrassing and cheap. They're THIS desperate for attention? To think this is the show that sneered endlessly about Debbie Matanapolous. http://deadline.com/2015/09/the-view-kim-davis-michelle-collins-joy-behar-video-1201518151/
  19. I didn't mind her either, but she'd lost purpose about 5-6 or more years before Sammy left. I admire her for taking the choice to quit. I get tired of "killer Robert" when nobody says "killer" about the other characters on the show who have killed or almost killed people, so I'm glad he said something. I really think it's one of the reasons he doesn't win any awards. Anyway, Patsy Kensit wants to go back to Emmerdale. I wouldn't mind it. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-09-08/patsy-kensit-i-miss-emmerdale
