Biden has always been vocally anti-pot, IIRC. He's also an old man, and not the hippie kind either. VP Harris probably isn't involved in this (I'm assuming), but I don't think her record on this subject is that different. I'm sorry people are being displaced, and it's not good policy, but are they surprised?

I know it won't happen (CBS won't ever be doing any soaps again, unless some right wing billionaire has a vanity project), and I know everyone is just having fun, but honestly I would take the last year of GL back over most soaps since. I still miss it.

The TJ Ducklo/Alexi McCammond saga reaches its inevitable conclusion. Just a mess, and so poorly handled by Teen Vogue (which has in general become too hyped for its own good these last few years and has twisted itself into knots as a result).

I don't think this is going to be a soap either. It reads like vague buzzwords but not an actual soap - probably more of a Holby City type show.

Nancy also looked too old, sadly. Jada would have been a great addition to the show - but she was probably better off at The Doctors, where she at least got 6 years of steady employment.

I believe her, but then that's the nature of these grimy talk shows. It's also one of the reasons I steer clear of them.

Back to this "they had lunch" type of [!@#$%^&*]. In an ideal world this is part of a slow dissolving as most of these 'bipartisan' Democrats realize they will never actually get anything accomplished, but I still can't get past how pathetic these little groups are. Some of the people in the "Problem Solvers" House caucus would not even support the Violence Against Women Act. The most dangerous part is their minority vote increasing in 2020 will just convince them further that extremism and bigotry comes with mostly benefits and no real consequences. The strong chance of taking the House will just cement that further.

I think it means they probably know they won't have to turn as much attention to challenges or navigating around new laws from Congress, and can just do whatever they want with no pushback.

I hope they will make the changes, but what makes me worry is most of the senators are so out of touch and are likely more concerned about losing their last bits of traditions and friendship in the Senate over what is happening in the real world. The Republicans are going for broke, so they must have some sense this isn't going to happen:

I feel like we are at a point where various senators do not want to make any changes to the filibuster but have decided not to completely say so, and are instead stringing along until those who want change give up.

I do want to believe these media games won't be effective, but I feel like they were very effective in Congressional and state races last year on the various gotcha topics (defund the police, immigration, the right wing framing of the stimulus). Maybe that will change. Some of those replies on the Milo tweet praising him for his grift remind me of just how many people have always been willing to shrug off his ugliness because it's more hip and fun to do so. At least they seem to be in the minority. I wonder if he is back to being bankrolled by the Mercers or if this is someone even more heinous. Florida certainly would be willing to go along with his sham - whether he will just cash in or try to find a way to be able to cash in and also hurt young men, I don't even want to think about. I remember the heavy efforts in the '90s to push ex-gay programs. Milo is probably too toxic to be able to get that message out today, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the start of more, with less repulsive faces coming after him.
