  1. The show lost its way starting around 1995 or 1996. If that's when he took over, it explains a lot.
  2. Disaster aid could run out next week. http://www.politico....0911/64102.html http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0911/64085.html I think we're thisclose to disaster victims being referred to as "welfare queens."
  3. Based on most of her PC run, the dynamics would have been whining and a squeaky voice.
  4. She must be a big SCTV fan. I wish people wouldn't give attention to the toxic Dina Lohan. She's not entertaining, or worth spit. I liked the slightly nauseated reaction of that one woman in the audience when Wendy mentioned Star Jones.
  5. I think this is the episode Y&RWT has been looking for. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZD9Xv4eyJ0&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
  6. November 1971 Afternoon TV.
  7. It's still pretty odd to me sometimes just how much Vanessa and Ross were both wasted for much of the '80s. In a way I'm surprised Ross even lasted through the decade.
  8. I haven't seen much of her either - I guess some episodes of her are up I just haven't watched yet. Ross and Vanessa always had a past. When Vanessa first came on the show she wanted him (I think it may have been said then they had a past - I'm not sure), and part of that was the infamous fur coat dropping scene Maeve had to do when she was about eight months pregnant.
  9. I didn't know that. I guess that promo wasn't long before ELizabeth Denehy was fired. To me she always looked a bit older than the role should have been - perhaps because she wasn't initially cast as Christina?
  10. Also from this issue.
  11. October 1972 Afternoon TV.
  12. Mike's only wife that lasted was Leslie, and they were only together a few years before she was killed. Other than that he was with a few women but never for very long. I think this type of character was condemned for being "boring", which is the type of attitude that killed daytime.
  13. I was mostly fascinated/scared by those tiny little heads.
  14. I think Michelle lost something after they fired Rachel Miner. She never had that soulfulness
  15. I don't think Rick was aged that much compared to many others in the family. I think the Bauers needed Mike, and a strong older female presence. Ed shouldn't have been written as the head of the family. Ed was too weak of a man to ever be that, and that's probably one of the reasons why the Bauers were dismantled to the point where it was just Ed and kids, then the kids.
  16. The way she was pushing her daughter as some model/actress in the early episodes maybe she can go on one of those awful child pageant reality shows.
  17. Her Wiki page says she did well in rehearsal but was nervous oncamera. And, apparently, drunk. It's a good script though, and she does OK. Imagine if Loretta Young had filled in as Susan! The biggest and happiest surprise for me was getting to hear Aunt Grace for the first time. She wasn't what I expected at all. I expect someone like that little old lady on Brighter Day. Grace was tough as nails! I loved it. She added a lot of spark. The show had such a fascinating and in some ways very ahead of its time view of females.

  19. October 1976 TV Mirror
  20. This has a few photos I hadn't seen before. October 1976 TV Mirror salutes LOL on 25 years.
