1973 Afternoon TV Special. Mary Tyler Moore wore this outfit in one of my favorite MTM episodes. Maybe Victoria felt the same way.

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
I thought her burning the clothes made sense because Josh was locking himself in his room - she had to react. But knowing Harley's history she probably would have gone nuts at some point. By the time he returned in 1993 she was on the way out but I do wonder why they never considered it later. I guess because she was locked in to a few men, and he was with a few women. But then I don't know if he would have been interested in later Harley anyway. She was so brittle.

I liked the fun little Ed/Reva scene. Maureen's scowling reaction was fun too. Too bad they didn't do more with Mike and Reva. I didn't realize they were mentioning her that early on. When was it exactly that they decided to turn her from being an outsider into the heart of the show? Or was it planned all along? Did Kim ever talk about her first meeting with Pam Long? It seems like Pam was so fascinated and entranced by the Reva character, and I wonder if that was because of or in spite of Kim (they weren't all that close as time passed on GL). But to Pam's credit, she wrote a beautiful romance between Josh and Harley after Reva "died."

"Secret Storm" memories.
Thanks to alphanguy74 for alerting us to this. It's an audio of one of Joan Crawford's SS appearances. "Poor child Joan" indeed! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weOJdw5pQnI&feature=player_embedded

Oh that's right. I thought it just pointed to the ceiling and then that was it.

Another 1993 episode is up - it's continued from the previous casino night episode. Love the opener with Lucinda and that fish tank. She wants to starve him! Of course she does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK8oohoydmU&feature=related

I guess this was late 1983. Christmas? I love listening to the music and seeing the various character threads. Weird seeing Josh and Hillary together, especially since Josh hurt her friends. I guess this wasn't anything serious between them. Every time I see Hillary I like her more. This was very early Reva, and she's accompanied by a "comic" maid, Anita, who talks about being oppressed. Weird. How long did she last? She seems like something out of Soap. The Lewises always remained a pretty believable family, even through 25 years and 3000 different regimes, but I like some of their edge in these earlier years. Who is the Asian doctor who is with Alan and is interested in Quint? I don't remember hearing anything about her. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efQd2xJta7o&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-j7F5NCZ9Y&feature=related

I thought Jennifer Bassey was off the show by this point. That poor crew. I hope they've managed to find other good jobs, if that's even possible today.

I love the pointing at the floor. What is that? He reminds me of Robert Hays in Airplane.

I don't mind the ads that much if there's some substance behind the actors (as there was here - not with the Fords) - but it does take more than this to get viewers to want to watch. I'm just sorry it didn't work. There's no reason why under better hands Search couldn't have run for 10-15 more years.

This is just great. I wonder if he got any comments from ABC on some of that interview. I love the disco photo - I never get enough of the era when soap actors had to disco. And I love how pissed off Julia Barr looks in that one photo. Did you know they had Mark La Mura play Eric Kane in flashbacks? I never knew that. There's one magazine that has a photo of him as Eric. I wish PP would bring Mark back.

I don't remember the first one. I wonder how popular the McLearys were. Those ads were a bit suggestive for the time (in soap ads) but nothing compared to some of the ads RKK did when he went back to AW. That one of the top half of their faces being obscured cracks me up. Especially since Matt Ashford seems to be making a "Wow this is really stupid, pffft" expression.

Yes - Mama Wore Taps. AKA, did Scott McKinsey ever go to school again? I like that phone Susan is using. I wonder if it was heavy. I think there are other photos of this Chuck with better hair.

Now I just wish we had photos where she holds a guitar or talks about EST (two of the staples of these articles).

We're probably two of about five people who'd know Margie Impert. I do really like the one at the piano.

April 1972 Afternoon TV.- One Life to Live Tribute Thread
There's a lot of intensity and effort - and I also like how they are afterwards, when he's holding her etc. while she's afraid of being caught. You can tell the actors worked very hard. It reminds me of when soaps tried for passion (whether it succeeded or not) instead of being afraid of it and just relying on gimmicks. I forgot to mention that the third clip has some of my favorite Tina/Viki scenes ever. I miss that relationship so much. Karen isn't the same as Andrea, but I must say that she goes straight to my heart so often in the Rauch era clips, just as Andrea did. Honestly I think, for better or worse, Rauch "got" Tina and no one else has. (It's too bad about the kind of shi!!y Johnny Dee story). - All My Children Tribute Thread
