  1. VIki's hair drives me crazy at this time. It's like Niki was acting out at the beauty salon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh_mJLH54tA&feature=related
  2. Geez I haven't seen something like this on soaps in years. (the Max/Gabrielle scene). It's so ridiculously overwrought but they really make it work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMWE9Goo63M&feature=related
  3. Most of what I'd seen of Gabrielle with Nick Walker was later when he became more sanctimonious (always the worst part of Max). Watching this I was surprised at just how sizzling they were together, even with that trashy dialogue. It's sad to see what the show did to the Tina/Gabrielle friendship. Did they ever make up? Is it me or is there a bit of unintentional chemistry with Witter and Fiona? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxwG8JiCby8
  4. This is the John Gabriel article.
  5. This is the height of the "No that's not really what that means, we promise," era (Village People anyone?).
  6. These articles are both from the July 1976 TV Radio Mirror

  9. Thanks for reading. It fits right in with those photos of the first episode you have on your site.
  10. Was Cindy an immediate flop? It seems like her name was mentioned as going much earlier than the others. Nothing says couture like Spanx.

  12. Thanks for keeping us up on international trends.
  13. Are any of you old time fans going to be rooting for Jason Donovan or Holly Valance on Strictly? Holly seems a little cold to me. Jason Donovan, of course, was another person back then. They did show a clip of the wedding, when they introduced Jason. They showed a photo of Holly in Flick's school uniform. She said, "I worked that uniform."
  14. Bad long-term planning has haunted Eastenders for years. Kirkwood isn't great in that area but I think Santer was worse (he's the one who really ruined Heather - the endless cycle of fat jokes and the George story). Kirkwood just doesn't seem to have any strong plans and the show ends up seeming choppy. There's also the continued problem of poor new characters.
  15. Yeah AMC fans should know they have a number of 94-96 videos. The weird thing about that hair (well, aside from the hair) is Arlene Dahl wore her hair like that in her astrology column for SOD around this time. I wonder if it was a homage. And then Hunter Tylo did it again years later.
  16. It's too bad she didn't have more of a career. Her looks/style were a bit out of place for the Nashville of that era - today she'd right in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI0dYxqPScE&feature=related
  17. I haven't seen this in 15 years. At least it answers my questions of, "Would I still find Maria/Edmund annoying and boring and exhausting in the MYBABY era?" and "Is Brian Gaskill as shockingly bad as I remember him being?" And as a bonus, you get Lauren Roman Laura doing pretty much what she did all the time after Brooke adopted her - berating people. On the plus side, there's Nina, and Palmer, and it was nice to see the first, non-"hunkified" Scott. I guess, like with Karen Gorney, they had to age Taylor Miller (especially since Bobby looked 30), but I thought Taylor looked younger in her 2010 appearances than she does here. Odd. It's nice to see Gloria again. I'd forgotten how close she and Dimitri were even before he started going after her. I actually liked Gloria/Dimitri together, although it was sad to see what Dimitri was becoming by then (if McTavish hadn't returned I'm pretty sure DImitri was going to be killed off).
  18. I'm glad you enjoyed it. When I saw that I thought you would like it - and I'd never seen the photo before (a lot of the same photos tend to be seen again and again). She was so stunning.
  19. I always have the start of this song in my head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REdEUoLYBQw
  20. Search's earliest days are what websoaps should be - straight to the heart, honest, full of people you can care about in universal problems. No pointless cameos by someone Mary Stuart worked with in 1946. No half of the episode taken up by credits.
  21. Oh I'm sorry. For a minute I thought you meant Tim Stickney/RJ...I don't know why...
  22. She's such a neurotic actress, I wonder what she would have been like in an ingenue role. Robert Mailhouse did a comedic type of audition for the role of Lawrence Alamain. They cast him as Brian instead.
