None of Marquess' stories were fully developed. They either crapped out, or didn't even have endings (remember Mandy and Warren returning to scheme against Tony and Mandy planning to get custody of Tom? All dropped). The show just tends to drag stories out now, and characterizations are ever-changing or go nowhere. The only thing they seem to be consistent at is making sure people feel sorry for Brendan.

This is hilarious. I would have loved that. One of my all time favorite ATWT memories has to be one of her birthday episodes from 1988 where she was upset about Holden and the camera panned to Caleb, then that crazy guy who was supposed to be wooing her, then to Beau, all to catch their reactions over poor Lily's pain.

Which episode is Kathleen in? Is it the 1978 one? I haven't seen that one in a while so have forgotten most of it, outside of Doreen and Carolee/Mona.

I didn't know that. It sounds interesting. Did Heiman ever talk about the show?

Someone is uploading some early 90's Corrie episodes. There are still a lot of teens - they just brought in a new batch. Otherwise it's basically the same crap.

It must have meant a lot to her, as she did a story like this on OLTL with Meredith Lord a few years earlier. This is as timely as ever (there was that horrific home invasion in Connecticut a few years ago), but these days we would be asked to root for the people invading.

Silas murdered Rae to set Brendan up for her murder. Get ready for yet more scenes of Brendan looking sad/Brendan in tears/everyone's out to get Brendan. I don't think he's had one story which isn't about what a victim he is.

Ruth was so beautiful. I wonder if fans preferred Larry Fleischman or Vazili Bagnos.

Thanks for sharing all these. Sometimes I'm never sure how many others enjoy the old nostalgia.

I wonder what would have happened if Barcroft hadn't left. I guess Ann and Paul probably would have been phased out anyway, as Linc was.

With most of the first ladies, when their hair isn't ratty it looks unwashed. I assume this is bad photography, as they look better on the show. Was this one of those makeup free shoots as well? Maybe this is some salute to Peapack. Is Bobbie Eakes doing her Britney impression?

I liked Rose. I thought she was OK with SH's Paul. I thought she was a breath of fresh air in a very suffocated and predictable Snyder and Walsh lineup. I wanted to see more of her with Iva. I felt like she suffered from poor use more than anything else. I liked her more when her father was around. I thought that she was a better example of Martha Byrne's abilities as an actress - I cared about Rose, whereas I often saw Byrne's Lily as an insufferable princess, and then, after a few years of genuinely maturing as a person, regressed back into the me-me-me-me twitdom that was increasingly unflattering with age. I thought Rose helped Lily as a character. I would have preferred they sent one off for extended periods rather than kill Rose for yet another overproduced shock value murder that had few consequences, other than Will angst. Heather Rattray forever!

The Michael French/Lindsay Coulson stuff is...a soap of its own. I don't know how much is tabloid trash - probably most of it - but those 1996 tabloid articles are just a mess. It usually depends on how long they've been in the cast. 20, 25 years can be punishing.

They really should bring Diane back, as she can also have material with her siblings. I'd heard Nick Berry was willing to return but never thought they'd get Michael French back. I hope Bianca will be back by this time.

Even if she doesn't ever return I would have preferred Pat just leave with a happy ending.

I keep hoping they will find the Joan Crawford episodes in some closet somewhere. That is one of the most WTF casting choices ever.

Pat's daughter-in-law, through Pat's stepson Barry. They were close, especially after Barry died and Pat and Natalie believed Janine killed him.

I think killing Pat off is a mistake, especially on Christmas day. It seems that death waits most of my favorite characters, or even worse (poor Sue). I hope Carol isn't going to be killed off when she leaves. You'd think they might at least get one or two people to return, but who knows. I think Nick Berry said at one time he might return.
