  1. Do you remember how the media went hogwild in 2000? They loved McCain. They cried bitter tears for him every day and every night. They adored W. They loathed Al Gore and did everything they could to make him look awful, even making up the pettiest lies about him. In 2008, the media was doing cartwheels over Sarah Palin, and lipstick on a pig, and how she was going to remind everyone of real America. Only her abject stupidity caused the backlash against her.
  2. I forgot Gabriel was still around. Nice use of Ryder and his history (he did know Emily, through his friendship with Dani, but not that well).
  3. This is the first I've watched of Phyllis Lyons as Arlene. I know she's been in other clips I just haven't watched them. She reminds me of Jessica Tuck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6blWEGCxfPQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQeTz5-xU-8&feature=channel&list=UL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eWa2p0uKLY&feature=channel&list=UL
  4. The media isn't having fun! It's not fair! http://www.politico....04.html?hp=t2_3 If you ever need a reminder of just how out of touch the Beltway is with real problems:
  5. Bet was an iconic character on the show off and from about 1966, 1970-1995, then a brief stint in 2002 which she left early due to exhaustion. She was wonderful, especially her sexiest, toughest days, the 70s. She was a barmaid and eventually became landlady. You can find a ton of clips and episodes with her on Youtube. Here's her go-go girl episode. 20 minutes in.
  6. It's great to see you here again!
  7. He did have a daughter named Elizabeth. KT played Vanessa Prentiss on Y&R.
  8. This is a fun read. I love the "Male Lesbian for Rush '96" button. http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/things-i-learned-at-the-republican-national-conven
  9. That's great.
  10. That's great. I remember Michael Storm saying that was his favorite story.
  11. I never knew all that. I know he supposedly wrote Search for Tomorrow during the 1981 strike.
  12. I wonder if he initially thought of casting her as Santana. She would have been too old but might have been better received than Wanda de Jesus.
  13. OK, great. When I find them again I'll put them up and PM you.
  14. I have some synopses of that year, if you want to see any. You may have already read them though.
  15. Don Chastain - he was on there again in the island story with Katie wasn't he?
  16. I think Rick came in as an adult. Was Chuck ever on the show?
  17. Here's the interview, if you want to read it.
  18. It sounds great. Do you think Colin's death was a loss for the show? Did it lead to good story?
  19. I believe all that is around on Youtube is a brief moment of her in a 1979 episode.
  20. Melody Anderson tested as Galen Henderson before being cast as Natalie Dillon. When Paul Rauch went to Santa Barbara he talked with Barbara Luna (ex-Maria Roberts, OLTL) about a role. Before Knots cast Lar Park Lincoln as Linda Fairgate, she was looked at as a young Abby in a flashback scene. They also considered casting her as Sally's Friend, or whatever that boring role was. They went with Linda because they liked her as a contrast to Michelle Lee.
  21. That was a great story. Overall 99-01 was a good period for the show.
  22. This is great. I hadn't seen this before. That sourpuss face cracks me up.
  23. This is one I put last year
  24. I wish I could see the Judy Collins episode.
  25. That painting in the background is weird. I wonder if that's the Bancroft set. That all white on Joe LaDue. At least it's not a jumpsuit.
