I like the idea of the kids questioning their beliefs, I just didn't think the writing was very good. Peter raging and throwing fits right after his sister is in a car crash. The most interesting parts of the early episodes for me are Terry's mother, who seems kind of comic relief and a little Jewish and an odd fit for the family, and seeing Jeff when he was an ass.

I hope she won't replace Denise. Someone should find the Eastenders episode she was in. Doesn't sound like a big role. Ben, do you remember her from Family Affairs?

Yes, they did. There wasn't a ton of chemistry but they may be OK. I just wonder if they would be better off resting Victoria. I didn't know Sierra was still on the show at this time. Wow, listen to that heavy -handed Kevin propping.

I think people forget that because she became so comical later on. Lenore Kasdorf was pretty good at it, along with Melanie Smith.

I think the general idea is the show was muddled early on, with all the heavy crime stories. There was also some criticism of the way the religious element was handled, in that it may have been seen as too heavy-handed. Other than the very early stuff, with Peter yelling about there being no God and Lori yelling the same (after she was badly injured in a car accident), I don't think it's been too bad. But there may be a bunch of episodes which are not included in the syndication episodes. Someone told me they skipped a few months of the early episodes, and you can sort of see that with the flashbacks of Lori thinking of happy times with Becky - none of which was shown.

A Romney superpac is running anti-gay ads. So much for this campaign being about the economy. If Romney wins look for the media to give these as a big reason why. Whenever I think of McCain and the media I think of the stories about how they went to his house and had a barbecue! and a tire swing!! This is our media. I'm not saying they just do this with Republicans, but it's nauseating and shows how sheltered and delusional the most influential journalists are today.
