  1. The problem is this means they one HW who is facing criminal charges, and another whose husband is facing them (Phaedra), even if she herself isn't. This starts to go into the mire, and increases the amount of material that affects the show, but they can't directly address on the show.
  2. 12/16/86. I don't think anyone else has uploaded this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH8eHs7aeHo
  3. Mitchell Jason, who appeared on Loving in 1987, has passed away. http://www.welovesoaps.net/2014/04/mitchell-jason-dead-at-92.html#more
  4. What I liked about Ellie and Seth was I thought they were believable as part of the family. Seth the guarded, protective big brother. Ellie as the sensible but offcenter girl who left the family as soon as she could. I do think that all the interrelationships were a bad idea (especially things like Caleb/Lily) and made the family seem trashy. I feel like Marland offloaded certain aspects of his personality onto characters. Lisa Brown got a lot of the quirky stuff on GL. Margaret Reed got it on ATWT. I think he initially wrote Iva as tragic to show Lisa Brown's abilities as an actress (making Iva the anti-Nola), but then as time passed he kept her that way because she could help push his ideas about therapy and about overcoming sexual abuse. And then he started using her misery as a reason to facilitate story (and I must say, using her to push the Aaron story was a damn good idea - IMO far better than the way he handled things like her long lost family).
  5. I liked Ellie and I thought Props was a very soulful, thoughtful actress. I do think Kirk/Ellie was a mistake as a long-term relationship, although they were fun at times.
  6. Great to see her again.
  7. I tend to wonder how Bravo will react to this. They've had fighting on the show but it's never involved criminal charges, has it?
  8. Nene will be on that Patti Stranger show (I avoid that show as Stranger is apparently biphobic). http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/04/16/nene-leakes-plays-cupid-with-patti-stanger-on-the-millionaire-matchmaker-season-finale-sunday-april-20-on-bravo/254622/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Tvbythenumbers+%28TVbytheNumbers%29
  9. Robb was a kind man and a just man, but he broke his vow to people who were extremely dangerous, even as his mother (who had known them all her life) begged him not to. He essentially humiliated them. I think that's arrogant, even if he only did it for love. All of these characters were thrust into power at a very young age, through circumstances they had no control over. Dany overcame her inexperience and made smart decisions that strengthened her. The others in leadership positions generally didn't, and they paid the price.
  10. Whitney has a crush on him and can't deal with his being gay.
  11. I think Dany's story is about a young person struggling with power and with her own arrogance and confidence, mistaking that for true leadership. She's a strong person, but that isn't enough (yet). And she is still learning this. If you think about it, every story on the show that is along those lines ends horribly. Joffrey. Robb. Theon. Dany is the exception to the rule, as she's managed to overcome several moments of near-death and defeat. But it's an ongoing process.
  12. EE cast photo. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a564914/eastenders-releases-2014-cast-photo.html?utm_source=frms&utm_medium=dsf&utm_campaign=forums#~oByhSpotm4pSEN
  13. The end of the 2/8/91 episode is still hilarious.
  14. For me Arya's story is the main weak link - I just can't connect to her and it feels like a lot of telling us how we're supposed to feel. I enjoy Bran's, mostly because I like the whole supernatural, otherworldly element of the character, even if the story seems to be kind of stalled out. And i think Osha's one of the best characters on the show.
  15. I saw her first as Iva, and then when she returned to GL, she essentially played Nola as Iva with a kooky dress sense. I didn't see Nola until some clips on the Internet in the late 90's. I always felt a strong emotional connection to Iva. I thought she was a realistic character, sometimes painfully so. I felt close to her. So I will always pick her over Nola, mostly because I just don't connect to Nola and the caricature of Nola, although I enjoy some of her stories (mostly some of the early mystery stuff before it was too much silliness or love story).
  16. Is it me or does OC always have the best taglines? Shannon's is great. I thought Alexis used to have Heather's line though.
  17. Spoiler tags - just use the "[" bracket, then type spoiler, then the "]" bracket. Then type what you want to type, then put " (without the quotation marks) For instance,
  18. Kenya is a mess, but for a black woman to have a steady acting and show business career for over twenty years is not just about her title or luck. She's likely worked very hard.
  19. Jack Gleeson interview from last October. He's a funny guy (a very patient guy too, putting up with some of those fans demanding multiple photos...).
  20. Winding up season 2... I'd forgotten how [!@#$%^&*] hot Matthos Seaworth was. Cute guy. I'd say he's on fire, but that would be in poor taste. Blackwater was a much stronger episode than I'd expected it to be, as I'm not that into battle stuff. I can't say how it compares to the book battle, as I haven't read it (yet), but I thought they managed to capture many different POVs in a relatively short space of time. I am not a huge huge Tyrion fan (I like him but I don't worship him as some fans do), but I felt terrible (terribly?) for him here, where he truly stepped up to the plate, and then he was literally cut down as his father stormed in to save the day. Sorry for all the cliches. Stephen Dillane does such a great job as Stannis, and his dourness. I was shocked when we saw a little emotion from him as he was led from battle kicking and screaming. The only real complaint I have is that I didn't think The Hound's turn away from battle was built up well enough over the season. I assume he has deeply buried PTSD but I wish it had been a little more established. I also have to admit that I'm getting to the point where I really want someone to knock Bromm down a few pegs. I like Bromm, don't get me wrong, but it's just a little too much of, "He's so wise and so bad-ass" in every scene. Cersei - I spent some of those hideaway scenes thinking, "Cersei is losing it again because she feels old and useless/she hates being a woman/she hates Sansa replacing her/she hates life," but then it hit me at the end that she was drunk and angry because she knew she would have to murder her son. Ouch. I can't say enough good things about Lena Headey's work. I was so bored of Cersei's meltdowns for the first 2/3 of this season but the last few episodes turned it around. I also love the whole theme of whether Sansa will turn into Cersei (as Cersei seems to be trying her best to accomplish), or whether she will be her own person and keep some of her innocence and inner strength. Jack Gleeson did a wonderful job in the scene where Joffrey went to hide on his mother's orders (deep down what he wanted to do anyway). His face was such a reminder that he truly is a child, and a very weak child. So this is it for Lancel. I can't say I'll miss him, but I wonder what happened, as he wasn't killed off, and is still in the books. I wonder if something happened with the actor.
  21. It was directed at the DS brigade.
