  1. I still give a damn about Maggie and her fate. I feel like every character who does or says something that isn't perfect tends to be polarizing, but I've learned that just because I don't like them doesn't mean others don't. I thought Shane (as much as I liked the actor) needed to go, yet some fans insist the show was ruined and he was right about everything. I'm more interested this season than last season, where I felt like everything just sort of died after they got Maggie and Glenn back from Woodbury, and there was way too much time spent on The Governor going to crazytown. I think they've made some mistakes this season but I also feel like some of this had to be done. Last season at this point felt so sparse and I only felt invested in Rick, Michonne, and Hershel (I hated Glenn's story last season) by the end. This season has made me care a lot about most of the group, sans Daryl. With that said, if Judith dies, or if female characters die just so we can see their boyfriends/brothers/what have you making sad faces, then I don't think I'll be back.
  2. RIP Kate O'Mara. http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50456-rip-kate-omara-cassandra-morrell-alexis-sister-on-dynasty/
  3. I'm mostly just enjoying the moments where we get to go to various houses and abandoned places. I think that added a nice touch of, not reality, but atmosphere. I loved the prison set and I didn't want them to leave, but I was glad for a break before we get another group setting, especially if it's like Woodbury.
  4. I get the feeling that Beth will be part of a cliffhanger for next season. I really hope Sasha doesn't die. I'm expecting Bob, one of Glenn/Maggie, and a few others I hope won't happen (Judith or Carol or one of Sasha/Tara). I'd like to see Abraham die, but I know that likely won't happen...
  5. Grant is such a complicated character in your story. Love the Christy/Cass scene. You always excel at writing for Cass. And the blowup when she mentioned Charlie - so perfect. I have to admit I still picture Patti D'Arbanville.
  6. Thanks for letting us know. It's a shame it didn't last a little longer.
  7. Tyrone sure can't keep it in his pants (Donna, Joy). Nice to see that past history mentioned with Jack working with the Stenbecks.
  8. Photo with Karen, Matt, and the first green Power Ranger. Karen looks a little like Bonnie Lanford in panto there. Matt should keep his hair that style and length. He looks amazing. https://www.facebook.com/jasondfrank/photos/a.278616396686.144004.270759951686/10152061374566687/?type=1
  9. Silver Shadows, I think. That is the episode that made me a Knots fan. What I loved about the episode is that Abby did "win." When he died, everything was going to go to her. But when she saw the will, she realized that he'd written down the name of his old love, the woman she was pretending to be. Instead of doing what you'd get on most soaps (especially today) and throwing things around the room, Abby simply put on the flapper-era hat that she'd worn for Ayres, looked in the mirror, and smiled, fondly, remembering the man she'd known. Abby was not just a "bitch," she had layers and ambiguities, and this episode was one of the best examples of that.
  10. Presumably a Democratic President would stop it, but we don't know what will happen with the White House after 2016. I just saw a prominent GOP Congressman praising what happened in Crimea. http://www.latimes.com/nation/politics/politicsnow/la-na-pn-rohrabacher-ukraine-putin-reprise-20140327,0,3229059.story
  11. It's not about him being a saint. It's about going on to the press about this story being about educating people, when it's really just more of the same "shocking" affair stories that everyone has already seen a million times. Instead of any fan caring about the rape, they will just yawn at the same old contrivances. Or they will believe the story is saying that if you are a cheater, you get what you deserve. There was zero point for the rape story. Less than zero.
  12. I never thought she was a con artist, I thought she was a zealot and very dangerous, but I didn't realize just how...tied she was to the dark forces she was up to that point. That old man who was absolutely terrified of her to the point of murder/suicide was a great intro to her character. I could do with a few less "the night is dark and full of terrors," but she is fascinating. And that scene...well at first I thought she was, not to be crude, but pleasuring herself for the dark forces. When it turned into what it actually was, I was flabbergasted. Van Houten is a good sport to play those scenes.
  13. They did remarry under Conboy, and Ross was elected mayor. I think that was it.
  14. When I first started watching the show and every commentary (and it is just about every commentary) had every single actor, director, producer and writer on said commentary praise Jack Gleeson effusively and take pains to tell people what a kind and sweet man he is, I thought, well, I get it, but this is overkill. Now that I'm into season 2, I 100% understand. Joffrey is just an out of control monster in ways I rarely see on TV. I guess he doesn't get even heavier fan anger because aside from Ned Stark, Joffrey doesn't seem to target fan favorites, but I can still understand why TPTB are scared for Gleeson. I have respect for him for even leaving his home, really. If you ever get to listen to any commentaries, try to listen to the ones with the kids who play Sansa, Arya, and Bran. They're a lot of fun. My favorite part is how they deal with the opening credits (in the first they tried to "sing" the theme, in the second they tried to rap to it...Sansa rapping is a trip).
  15. That's actually restrained by 80s standards, although it looked like a leadup to a Playgirl shoot, frankly. He was very hot at that time...he's not that bad now either. I can't imagine him staying that long.
  16. I think within 5-10 years he could have been a good king. As he was at this point he was just a little too weak mentally and not sure enough of himself. I do think he had his moments, and he could have been a great king with time. He had the temperament, which Stannis does not. If Stannis becomes ruler then I have a feeling Melissandre is going to turn all of the kingdom into her own personal magic kit.
  17. I thought Blake and Ross were on the backburner during Conboy. For me GL just lost so much of its heart under JFP. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I was watching now, when I'm more jaded. I think a lot depends on how you felt about her favorite characters. I hated most of them (Nick, Buzz, Lucy) so that put me in a bad spot.
  18. Jenny O'Hara actually had a lot to do in that Supernatural episode. Pleasant surprise.
  19. I think it was Rauch who got rid of Bryan Buffinton. He was on until sometime in 1998. Was it JFP or Laibson who got rid of Rachel Miner? I agree that the show became dark and mean.
  20. I have to say that so far I've been enjoying Dany's story this season quite a bit. I'm sure when we get to "where are my dragons" I may be more annoyed, but the current story (Dany as proud ruler of a very, very, very fragile kingdom, Dany + Jorah 4 life) works well for me.
  21. I don't think he would have necessarily wanted them hurt, but someone as smart as Tyrion should have known what would happen.
  22. Theon giving in to what his father wanted him to be was sad, but Alfie Allen sold the hell out of it. The baptism scene was so beautifully filmed. And with such a sense of foreboding.
  23. I know it's a part of this world, but I wish all the torture scenes didn't have to be oncamera. I just end up skipping them. I was most uneasy with the scene of Joffrey having Ros beat the other whore. There was some scene in the previous episode where, when Tyrion had had his guards walk in on her when she was with Julian Glover's character, he gave her some money to say sorry. And yet in the next episode he has her sent to Joffrey when he knows Joffrey likes beating women? It just makes me think that for all his feeling of not being the same as the rest of his family, he really isn't very different at all. I ragged on the guy who played Renly before but in these season 2 episodes I think he's done a good job at playing Renly - a troubled man who is in way over his head and, truthfully, probably should not have been king. Loras seems like a brat, but he does have chemistry with Renly. I was happy to finally get to see Brienne. And Tulisa. Robb and Tulisa had chemistry from the first scene. That's good casting. I must say that Arya and Arya's story just don't do much for me at all. Cersei's rage over her daughter being essentially pimped out the way she was - such a powerful scene. Incredible acting. Cersei is dead inside and I often feel that she only livens up when she can make others feel as bad as she does, but she does love her children, in spite of everything.
