  1. I didn't even know he was on Twitter. I had to laugh when he called AHS a good show and said Murphy knew how it was going to end. I doubt it.
  2. Wasn't expecting Cass to lie that way. I have a feeling he's going to pay for that. I have to admit I did see Robin Mattson in this chapter. Smart move from Iris. She's a step ahead. Vicky is losing it, although I guess I can see why. Great work.
  3. So who owns KBAY now? Smooth of Michael to cover for all the Jaime and Cersei business with Iris...although I don't think she's adopted. Then again if Michael says it I don't believe it anyway, lol. Love that family moment with Paulina and Dante. And Iris not letting them take her down without a fight. So Iris.
  4. This is really interesting. I enjoy the Iris and Carl bond. I guess Joy's really going to make her mark on the Love family.
  5. I'm shocked that you think Maher is a liberal. He is a libertarian who says crazy things to get attention and to try to draw attention to himself. He doesn't like war and he likes pot, and that's about it. No liberal would have given Ann Coulter a major platform for years, one that allowed her completely unchecked power. Sullivan is also a contrarian, one who works very hard to show he's not like those "other" gays. This is a bizarre question, because most people who work for socially conservative private entities likely don't have employees who donated against Prop 8. It's a fairy tale for people to assume that socially conservative organizations allow their employees to ever make these types of donations. And it once again shows just how out of touch Andrew Sullivan is. Which gay groups were behind this? I have a difficult time believing that OKCupid was essentially shaken down by gay rights groups. Sometimes companies make their own choices for their own reasons.
  6. Not too surprised to see Bill Maher, who has made a career out of sneering contrarianism (and is also a huge sexist and generally guaranteed to pollute and sour the side of a debate he's involved in), railing against the "gay mafia." This is why the "gay agenda" talk is so laughable. Many of those up high, or who think they're up high, always love to spit on gay people, to show how cool and hip they are. http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2014/04/05/bill_maher_mozilla_s_brendan_eich_was_whacked_by_gay_mafia.html
  7. Ste only had a purpose on the show when some fans could get hot over the idea of him being beaten up by the man he loved. Other than that Kirkwood just used him to bring in the Lomaxes (who seem to have no real fan support that I have seen), and he will probably pair him with JP for more of the "shocking" father/son triangle. I agree that the rape story was just done for shock value. The sad thing is that if Finn makes sad panda faces I gurantee you that a vocal group of fans will pity him, root for him, and say JP got what he deserved.
  8. Is a boycott the same as bullying? Even if it is, why is this being blamed on gay groups? The people he's working with probably would have believed him, which is what would have mattered. This is what his money helped pay for. http://www.slate.com/blogs/outward/2014/04/04/brendan_eich_supported_prop_8_which_was_worse_than_you_remember.html This is what the LGBT people working at Mozilla knew that their boss saw when he looked at them. If we start that ball in motion, then it would mean any criticism of anti-gay law or policy would be off the table, barring something like the laws in Russia and Africa. Does Andrew Sullivan really want to do that?

  10. Well, the ratings are good, but the show seems to get very little talk at Digital Spy, and what it does get is mostly negative and complains about what you mention. There's isolated support for a few characters, like Sinead. (Ste used to be their pretty pony but I guess most of his fans quit the show after his abuser went to jail)
  11. I've been watching some Quint and Nola clips with my mother (who was a fan of theirs back in the day - not a big fan but she liked them - so it's been nice to see the clips with her), and I'm trying to figure out when Marland left exactly and when the writing shifted. Was it around St. Croix? Watching this clip is weird, because I don't remember Gracie ever being so aggressive toward Nola before (or toward anything). She says some pretty harsh things about Nola's patterns with men and about how untrustworthy Quint is. While I guess someone did need to say this, I wonder if it would have been said when Marland was there (or was this still him)? I mostly just remember, in the few clips I've seen of Gracie before this time, happily enabling Nola.
  12. Is OKCupid really an "outside bullying group"? They were the main ones pushing this. http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/04/03/eich-steps-down-as-mozilla-chief/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0 And a number of articles pointed out that it *was* people within Mozilla who applied pressure. Andrew Sullivan's screeds are IMO an embarrassment. This has nothing to do with Hilary Clinton, and Hilary Clinton, as far as I know, HAS repudiated her past view on gay marriage, so what is he even talking about? What in the hell is this? The stocks? Really?? He's an extremely wealthy man who will move on to another high-paying job. When will all GLBT people stop being blamed and shamed for decisions like these? I'm sick of it. I'm so sick of it.
  13. I think he was let go but I can't remember.
  14. The Wyldes were great. It's a shame the show wrote all of them out (I know Amanda Donohoe wanted to leave but the others, I'm not sure) and decided to focus on some sort of misery and cheapness. I've always said if you don't want to do glamour, then burn Home Farm down. I still feel that way. I became so dispirited by what Gavin Blythe and Stuart Blackburn did to the show, I haven't even watched in years. I'm not sure what it's like now.
  15. I had that loud Blue Bloods show on in the background for a second and I saw Scott Bryce, still looking pretty good.
  16. He's shown even more on Twitter (or he used to - I haven't checked in the last few years). For all the talk of gay men controlling the industry, if that were true, someone would have cast him somewhere.
  17. I don't think we'll see them again, sadly. It's a shame the only time I see Lyndon Ogborune is when he gets semi-naked for a gay magazine. Someone at least put him in soft porn if that's where he's angling.
  18. Danny Miller is returning to Emmerdale. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/s12/emmerdale/news/a562311/emmerdale-danny-miller-returning-as-aaron-livesy.html#~oAvx9vi5BxFgF3 Given his limited acting ability and his very obvious reluctance about playing a gay man, I think this is not going to end well.
  19. I was watching an early Quint/Nola clip (late 1981, I'm guessing - it's during the Diane Ballard murder investigation), and Nola says while they're on a plane to San Francisco that he doesn't know what it was like for her to sleep with three sisters. I guess they rewrote that later on, as the only sister we saw for her run was Maureen. Then later they brought in Chelsea.
  20. I haven't seen it but I can't wait to see it (that scene). I think I read that they named her Yara instead of Asha because they were afraid viewers would confuse Asha and Osha.
  21. I don't remember them having any real interaction.
  22. I know quite a bit of what's to come (in season 3 and probably 4), although I'm trying to train myself not to keep reading in advance. It's the little things that surprise me more. I wanted to say if anyone here would rather I put my comments in spoilers, even though this is old material, I will. When I finish some of my shows I will check out The Hour. I've heard good things about it. I love Geraldine Chaplin in Nashville. It's a role that should have been or could have been terrible but she brings such humor and determination. I wonder how people who read the books felt about Talisa compared to the woman in the books (Jayne Westerling or something like that).
