  1. I might do that someday. I'll have to learn how to make gifs though...
  2. Most of it, yes. I just don't talk that much about the episodes as they all tend to be the same things again and again, at least everything after the fight with Apolo and Brandon and Kandi and Cynthia's sister. I prefer to just talk about opinions here.
  3. I agree that there are some fans who expect some type of progressive beliefs from the show and can never accept that it won't be that way (for instance, people who are bothered that Loras has to hit on or be involved with every queer man on the show). And I think the show has made it clear that rape is a major part of this world. I'm sure there are fans who thought Jaime was going to become a hero and save the day. And those fans weren't necessarily owed anything - just because he changed in season 3 didn't mean that would continue. Characters grow and regress. I guess what I question is - is this true to his character, does the show view this as rape, is this true to his relationship with Cersei, and why was this done? When I read the interviews with NJW and the director of the episode I'm not even completely sure if they entirely knew why the scene was done or how comfortable they felt filming it. I think there's a danger in using sexual violence to try to jumpstart characters or story arcs. It means the characters just become pitstops for sexual assault. They have no other purpose. Anyway, I've probably already said too much too many times. So I'll stop. I don't want to ruin anyone's enjoyment of the show. I will keep my views to myself and if I post anymore about the show it won't be about this. I'm not sure whether I will or not.
  4. People aren't on Porsha's side as much as they're happy that she got physical and did some clowning around. Many of these same people were likely tearing her apart for her marriage and divorce, her Underground Railroad comment, etc. She's a court jester. And she hasn't been able to parlay that into anything else. Ultimately it doesn't matter as much to me what Kenya did or didn't deserve, because Kenya is just going to keep on going to wherever or whatever she was doing before the show. Porsha is the one who screwed this up. If you look at her compared to someone like Nene, Nene got physical during season 3, but she was always reserved at reunions. She knew how to play the game. Unless even one of those people cheering on Twitter is there to help Porsha once that money runs out, then she lost.
  5. I think one of the other things that bothers me is that Jaime has always been opposed to rape, even losing a hand to stop a rape. We can say, "He doesn't see this as rape," but many rapists don't see it as rape. And it just reinforces that the character is as much of a monster as so many other men on this show. I understand what you're saying, and I may be unfair to the show, but this just upsets me a lot because it's something that is so damaging and I feel like it was done to shock and as a tease. Every time I see this described as "taboo" by the press I want to retch. I trusted Jaime as a character to not be one of those "no means yes" people. I knew he was a terrible man in many ways, but I trusted that. And if that's rewritten, then I'm not sure what will be next. It makes me fear for the integrity of other characters.
  6. I guess to me Joffrey is the product of sickness and toxicity, and the lies of their relationship (the lies nearly killed Bran and set loose Catelyn, which led to the destruction of the Starks and caused chaos throughout the North and King's Landing). Having him rape her seems less like proving something that needs to be proved and just going for lurid shock value. I've heard fans complain about how the show sexualizes violence when it doesn't have to, and I've understood why they did sometimes (I think having Dany/Drogo as consensual from the start would have been a huge can of worms, although I don't know if they handled it that well in the show either), but this time, I just don't get it. One of the other reasons this reminds me of soaps is that soaps also got into these "heart of darkness" type moments to show how edgy they are, and the characters pay the price. For instance, if they are saying Jaime will rape Cersei, but won't rape other women, that sends a very bad message in its own right, because it says that men only rape certain types of women. Anyway, more interviews from the director and NJW. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/04/20/game-of-thrones-most-wtf-sex-scene-nikolaj-coster-waldau-on-jaime-lannister-s-darkest-hour.html http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/game-thrones-director-controversial-scene-697733
  7. Pretty disgusted with this from the director. It's something I would expect from Ron Carlivati: http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-watching/review-game-of-thrones-breaker-of-chains-uncle-deadly#sPmwO6jxGxJzm76a.99 No no no no. I'm still going to watch the show but I can't deal with Jaime after this. He's dead to me. I would be a huge hypocrite and I would feel unclean. Way to ruin one of your most interesting, complex characters.
  8. This has some book spoilers. Geez, I haven't seen it yet, so I can't say, but
  9. I can see what you mean. I think they may have worded it that way because Cersei was trying to hit her weak spot, trying to humiliate her.
  10. I'd say you could put it on Youtube, but I don't know how to put anything on Youtube so who am I to say.
  11. I'd say that it may not be so much about Brienne loves Jaime forever as Brienne has some type of feelings for him. Even if it's not necessarily love, it is something. And Cersei throwing that in her face made her realize that she does feel something for him, something she hadn't processed. Then again, I didn't realize she was supposed to be in love with Renly until several fans talked about it. I just didn't get any of that onscreen in those season 2 episodes.
  12. Great chapter. Lots of stories moving forward. I'm glad we got to hear more of Gregory's motivation. I guess the lesson is - don't hug or hand-hold women in public. Or when the door is open.
  13. Gregory is going to start being like Jason if he doesn't stop with the rage and obsession. I hope Sharlene doesn't get shot at this wedding as I think she did at the last one she helped plan...
  14. Oh I've seen it, but then, any characters who cry or show emotion or don't go around waving swords will get hate. At least fans apparently don't go up to him and insult him as they did with Sophie Turner a few years back. I don't think that's happened as much lately though, which is good.
  15. I've seen a lot of fan debate over that, Bran hate - bleh. Sometimes it probably seems like trying to be contrary if you say you're a fan of Bran or Sansa when it's so cool for fans to hate them. But I am.

I doubt they would have hired her. She lost her appeal to the public a long time ago.
  17. I'd forgotten about him too. That pouty Our Gang face Kristen Alderson makes does not wear well. Oof that scene is awful. Some worthless scriptwriter took "Don't Take Away The Music" a little too literally.
  18. This amused me more than it probably should have.
  19. I saw someone saying it was like when people stood up to Hitler...
  20. Hadn't seen this before either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E8znG-0h24 I love Kim's hat and coat here. She wasn't allowed to be stylish very often. This reminds me of Barbara. I also like the music cue when Betsy is looking in the courtroom.
  21. And look what happened to the VH1 reality shows.
