Shortland Street
In the article I posted a link to and others posted elsewhere, the sites leave links to depression and suicide hotlines, which makes me fear the worst. Hopefully, I'm just catastrophizing.

Shortland Street
I just saw this news and I am dumbfounded, shocked, and saddened. Pua Magasiva, who played Vinnie Kruse from 2003-2006 + 2011-2018 has passed away at the age of 38. He was kind of the Ashley Taylor Dawson (Darren Osborne, HO) of Shorty in a way balancing between being a light, funny, stable, and charming presence, but always delivering in dramatic stories. I hope Sally Martin who worked with him heavily on this show and Power Rangers is coping alright with this news. And condolences, of course, to his family and friends who have to deal with such a tragic loss. The article says there was no suspicious circumstances, but I know he dealt with some alcohol troubles that led to his ouster from the soap and his radio job. A gorgeous much loved man taken way, way too soon. https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/entertainment/2019/05/shortland-street-actor-pua-magasiva-dies-aged-38.html

HBO: Game of Thrones
I was very impressed that though there were many hero deaths, not one of them felt repetitive or unearned. was probably my favourite. It was such a roller coaster that by the time the war was finally done I had to let out a huge breath of relief as if I had been there myself. Just excellent, beautiful television. As for a selfish request, now that Gendry has seemingly made it through, can I please get my GoTdamn SKINS reunion between Chris and Cassie, please? Something, anything, between the two best characters from that show would be amazing. Negatively, Samwell pissed me off the whole episode.

HBO: Game of Thrones
Any bets as to who the first major death of the season will be? It's not looking good for Euron.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Travis Schuldt (Ethan Crane, Passions) as a Grindr hookup on The OA. He looks amazing, and we get to see quite a bit of him.

All My Children Tribute Thread
If it comes back, I hope it does so slowly. For one, OLTL should not be a package deal. Let AMC build it's audience with a couple half hours a week. Let it work through the crooks and crannies and then if it becomes successful, an potential expansion and revival of OLTL can be discussed. Doing too much too fast would lead to failure.

I can’t listen to her for too long because she makes me forget to breathe.

HBO: Game of Thrones
I must be itching for a SKINS rewatch because I was most excited for that brief glimpse of Gendry.

The Fox TV Network: The Early Days
Not early Fox, but I did love short term shows Tru Calling and Point Pleasant.

The music to bring on Mirren/Momoa sounds like it would be a great soap opera theme.

Props to you for putting Kirsten Dunst. Her performances in All Good Things and Meloncholia should've been nominated. Thandie Newton being snubbed for Crash was inexcusable. And some of those names, Donald Sutherland, Robin Wright, Steve Buscemi, Michael Sheen, Ewan McGregor are names I naturally assume have been nominated for something because they do have accolades elsewhere. I'm never good at these games myself. My mind always goes blank as if no knowledge has ever been occupied.

Best/Worst Network Promo Campaigns
It was until the reveal. The aftermath ruined so many characters that still haven't recovered.

Best/Worst Network Promo Campaigns
Shortland Street, a New Zealand soap opera, has had some great promos. High production values, makes you want more, and with these two examples, the stories told didn't disappoint either.

Oh that's awesome. It makes things so much more interesting.

What are you currently reading?
Glamorama by Bret Easton Ellis. I love being in this f*cked up world Ellis has created. Victor is such a duplicitous little sh*tstain, but so entertaining and grossly charming. And, of course, the memories of the 90's that come with all the mentions of the celebrities of the time, some I had forgotten, is a treat

Hollywood Sexual Harrasment/Assault Thread
When it comes to music, I rarely ever "know" who these artists I listen to are, being I usually stick to the indie scene. I've listened to Death Cab for Cutie since 2004/5, but if you showed me a picture of the lead singer, whose name I don't even know without looking it up, I'd have no idea who he is. So with Ryan Adams, whose music can be beautiful and transcendent, I had no idea whatsoever of the person he is, or what people thought of him. This is an eye opener. Albert Hammond, Jr. is another favourite mine and to read their ugly history together is unsettling. Good on Mandy Moore for stepping up and backing up the claims. It goes to show that this is barely the beginning of the work that needs to be done.
