  1. While an airdate isn't specified, the photos CBS released indicate "Thanksgiving," so he can either air next week or after Thanksgiving. It would make sense for it to be Wednesday, November 22, since Y&R is airing a repeat from 1993 on Thursday and is preempted for sports on Friday.
  2. Fans of “As The World Turns” alum Colleen Zenk (ex-Barbara Ryan) who have been clamoring to see her back on daytime in a hot, juicy role got their wish on the Friday, November 17 episode of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” when the three-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee appeared on the series as Jordan, the devious aunt who is seemingly running things when it comes to her niece Claire (Hayley Erin). Look for Jordan to stir things up in Genoa City as she has some scores to settle with the Newman Family, particularly Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) who is currently being held captive by Claire. Photo by Sonja Flemming/CBS As seen at the end of the episode, Claire is standing in front of a mirror fixing herself up when Aunt Jordan walks in, startling her, telling Claire, “Don’t get soft on me now, Claire.” She added, “We have waited so long and we are so very, very close,” as a seemingly frightened Claire stares back at her. Photo by Sonja Flemming/CBS In an interview with PEOPLE, Zenk told the publication of Jordan’s motives, saying, “Prior to my showing up in Genoa City, I have sent my great niece to maneuver her way into the inner sanctum of the Newman family, which she has done quite successfully.” Although Zenk declined to speak on whether she had joined the soap on a contract basis as a series regular, she did tell PEOPLE of her experience thus far, “I just can’t get over how loving everyone has been to me. In fact, I kept crying the first couple of days.” She noted, “It was just so overwhelming. I really didn’t expect it. I’m a New York actor coming into their show. It’s not my show, it’s their show and I just didn’t know how they would respond.” Photo by Sonja Flemming/CBS Despite her storied career on “As The World Turns” and her performances in several New York theatre productions, Zenk’s joining “The Young and the Restless” marks her first time working in Hollywood, having never worked in the Los Angeles area, per her conversation with PEOPLE. “I am just a newbie here. I know nothing,” she tells the outlet. “I found a fabulous, wonderful restaurant where I’ve eaten nearly every meal, four blocks away from where I’m staying, so that’s been great.” Photo by Sonja Flemming/CBS Since the cancellation of “As The World Turns” in 2010, Zenk has kept herself busy, appearing in episodes of “Blue Bloods,” “American Criminal,” “Tainted Dreams” and “After Forever.” She originated the role of Barbara Ryan on “As The World Turns” in 1978 and remained on the series until its end. 3. Earlier this week, CBS announced the bulk of its midseason schedule and premiere dates now that the dual Hollywood strikes have concluded. Missing from the schedule were “Matlock” and “Poppa’s House,” two high-profile shows spearheaded by Kathy Bates and Damon Wayans, respectively. Tucked into the network’s announcement was news that the two shows would be moving to the 2024-2025 broadcast television season. According to Deadline, the network had limited shelf space on its midseason schedule due to the strike, which prolonged productions across the United States for about six months. The outlet noted the “longer prep time and scheduling runway needed for new series” as another major factor in the network’s decision to push the shows to the next broadcast season. “Tracker” Courtesy of CBS “Tracker” and “Elsbeth,” two other scripted shows ordered in May alongside “Matlock” and “Poppa’s House,” were given slots on the current season’s schedule but will have their premieres staggered so that the network can dedicate ample promotional time for each. “Tracker” will launch after Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11, before moving to its regular slot on Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. beginning Sunday, February 18. Encore airings of the show’s first two episodes will occupy the Thursday at 10:00 p.m. time slot on February 15 (episode one; series premiere) and February 22 (episode two). “Elsbeth” will then take over the slot when it premieres on Thursday, February 29. “Elsbeth”, “Matlock” Photo by Elizabeth Fisher/CBS; Courtesy of CBS Originally slated for Sunday at 8:00 p.m. following “60 Minutes,” “Matlock” was to take over the slot currently occupied by the veteran drama “The Equalizer,” which was to move to 9:00 p.m. The show will instead remain at 8:00 p.m., followed by the aforementioned “Tracker” and “CSI: Vegas,” which retained its 10:00 p.m. slot in the revamped schedule debuting February 18. At present, it’s unclear what day CBS eventually plans to schedule “Matlock” and “Poppa’s House,” but it wouldn’t be surprising to see the comedy series moving to Mondays or Thursdays with the network announcing the seventh and final season of “Young Sheldon,” and this being potentially the fifth and final season of “Bob Hearts Abishola” after the series received a reduced episode order days before the dual Hollywood strikes were called. As noted above, “Matlock” was to air on Sunday nights. In “Matlock,” Kathy Bates stars as Madeline “Matty” Matlock, a brilliant septuagenarian who achieved success in her younger years and decides to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases. Matty is assigned to Olympia (Skye P. Marshall), a senior attorney and key rainmaker thirsty for justice. Olympia’s ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), the son of the head of the firm, is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills. As Matty endeavors to establish herself in her new high-stakes world, she works alongside the firm’s younger associates – the charismatic Billy (David Del Rio) and the uber-ambitious Sarah (Leah Lewis). While technically not a reboot of the original series of the same name, this “Matlock” is inspired by the classic television series and will even make references to it on occasion. “Poppa’s House” sees Damon Wayans as a legendary talk radio host and happily divorced “Poppa” who has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host (Essence Atkins) is hired and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son (Damon Wayans Jr.), a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband. 7. So gruesome. I remember someone commenting on Deadline's story on this, saying that Hollywood needed a true crime story like this in the vein of the Nicole Brown Simpson murder so that people could take their minds off of the Hollywood strike. To think that way takes a special kind of person. Ditto for someone committing the crime. Just yuck.
  8. Isn't that the one about the Hollywood producer's son who killed his wife and her family members? Or am I conflating some stories?
  9. When it was announced that Peter Porte had been signed to a contract, I kept quiet on the matter because I was told that he WAS on contract but by the time that news story ran he had already been dropped to recurring. Just sayin'.

  15. After a lengthy wait due to the dual Hollywood strikes, which officially ended last week after a deal was struck between SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), pending ratification by the union’s membership, CBS on Monday announced the primetime premiere dates for its new and returning shows. 16. The site has brought back the "Five Things That Happened On..." posts as of yesterday, November 13.
  17. Correct. Despite "Days of our Lives" having +500,000 or more viewers compared to "NBC News Daily" on any given week, the demo separation isn't as big as one would think. In fact, I'm currently preparing the last three weeks of ratings reports and will post the fourth as soon as I get the demos for last week, and there's minimal separation between the two in either demo. For instance: Women 18-49 Rating (Week of October 30-November 3, 2023) Rank / Show / Network This Week Last Week 2022 2021 2020 NBC News Daily (NBC) 0.18 0.18 0.16 0.23 0.31 Women 25-54 Rating (Week of October 30-November 3, 2023) Rank / Show / Network This Week Last Week 2022 2021 2020 NBC News Daily (NBC) 0.27 0.27 0.25 0.34 0.46 Note: Demo figures for 2021 and 2020 represent the performance of "Days of our Lives." Based on how the soap opera performed from 2020 to 2021, it's no wonder the network opted to pull it off and move it to Peacock. During the final full week of "Days of our Lives" on NBC (Week of September 5-9, 2022), the show did as follows: Women 18-49 Rating SHOW THIS WEEK'S RATING LAST WEEK'S RATING LAST YEAR'S RATING 2020 RATING 10. Days of our Lives (NBC) 0.24 0.22 0.27 0.33 Women 25-54 Rating 7. Days of our Lives (NBC) 0.37 0.35 0.40 0.48 Note: The Friday, September 9 episode was heavily preempted. As you can see, while "NBC News Daily" is down from "Days of our Lives," it is likely the show's demo performance today would be what "DAYS" might be getting at a much higher budget had it not been moved.
  18. As of now, Mara, Janet and Devin are the only holdovers still posting all-new content to the website version of SOD. Carolyn Hinsey continues emailing her column, which doesn't appear to have a set release date yet. Last week, the column was published on Monday. The latest was posted today (Tuesday). Someone named Lee Meyer, presumably a freelance writer, is credited with a piece today, but it was also published to the site by Mara based on the link when hovering over his name on the byline. This is Lee's bio on Muck Rack, a website tracking content posted by journalists across the web: https://muckrack.com/lee-meyer/articles My understanding is Mara is now in charge of SOD following the departure of Stephanie.
  19. The word "legacy" in the context used is correct. Prior to one's death, Meta gives individuals the opportunity to allocate someone else to manage their social media accounts (Facebook/Instagram) in the event of their passing. This April person seemingly was that person designated by Tyler to do so. I do agree that no one should be actively posting on a dead person's profile, especially posting without clarifying that they are doing so via a note of some sort on the post letting people know it is them posting. Other than this one supposedly final post, we didn't formally know who was managing the page(s) based on the two prior posts which added more fuel to the fire surrounding Tyler's contentious relationship with members of his family.
  20. No. While "NBC News Daily" is doing better in the demos than when it launched last year, the show remains down compared to what "Days of our Lives" did in the slot just before being shipped off to Peacock and even compared to one year prior to the announced move.
  21. “The Bay” will return with all-new episodes beginning today, Tuesday, November 14 at 4:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. PT on Popstar! TV, starting with releasing the show’s final four episodes from Season 7. Replays of the episodes from the season will be rebroadcast every weekday as a build-up to the launch of the show’s eighth season, which will consist of 14 all-new episodes, kicking off on Monday, December 11. Season 8 will see a 100th episode special, dropping on Thursday, December 14. In the new season, fans will be introduced to billionaire Sir Thomas Kenway (played by special guest star Maxwell Caulfield), the father of Adam Kenway (Kristos Andrews). Returning series regulars include Brandon Beemer, Alicia Leigh Willis, Matthew Ashford, Taylor Stanley, Carlo Mendez, Kiara Liz Ortega, and Dante Aleksander, among others. Produced by LANY Entertainment in association with SheMogal Media, “The Bay” is written and executive produced by Daytime Emmy winners Gregori J. Martin and Wendy Riche. Since its debut, the series has won 23 Daytime Emmy Awards out of 56 nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). Earlier this year, “The Bay” was nominated for the first time ever in the coveted Daytime Drama Series, Writing and Directing categories, competing against the likes of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Days of our Lives,” “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless.” Overall, 92 episodes of “The Bay” are currently available to stream on Tubi, Prime Video and Popstar! TV. Additional episodes are available on Peacock and The Roku Channel. Courtesy of LANY Entertainment Using the hashtag “BingeTheBay,” fans can follow along with fans around the world as they discuss the happenings in Bay City, including the recent trip to Puerto Rico, where several chore characters found their lives hanging in the balance after being kidnapped and brought to a non-disclosed location by the nefarious Adam Kenway. With help in Bay City from the Police Commissioner Lex Martin and former Police Detective Nardo Ramos (Tristan Rogers and A Martinez), respectively, vigilantes Pete Garrett (also played by Andrews), Caleb McKinnon (Mike Manning), and R.J. Garrett-Foster (Najee DeTiege) set out to a remote island to find and rescue their abducted family members, including Vivian Johnson-Garrett (Karrueche Tran), Daniel Garrett (Eric Nelsen), and Tamara Garrett (Celeste Fianna). But will they arrive in time? Photos by Christine Bartolucci/ABC; ABC Photo Archives; Todd Wawrychuk/ABC The eighth season of “The Bay” will see the final performance of the late Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie Spencer, “General Hospital”) in her role as a psychic medium and southern belle Sofia Madison, who taps into coma-stricken socialite and town matriarch Sara Garrett’s (Mary Beth Evans) mind to discover she’s being visited by the spirit of her deceased husband, Lee Nelson (Joe Lando) and haunted by the ghost of her late grandfather, the corrupt Senator Red Garrett (Bruce Davison), whose spirit is said to have cursed the town after his drowning in the bay 30 years earlier. Filmed at ATI Studios in Burbank, a segment of season 7 of THE BAY was shot on location in Puerto Rico. Ninety-two episodes of THE BAY are currently available on Tubi, Prime Video, and Popstar! TV, with several episodes also available for streaming on Peacock and The Roku Channel. For more information, visit thebaytheseries.com.
