  1. This is true. Soap characters are just vile.
  2. While Sonia has produced her own original series, "Tainted Dreams," she's mostly been a director. It's possible Ken Corday wanted to save money by giving Janet one title and not both. Allegedly, Alarr was making about $2 million a year in his dual role. I'm sure Janet is a LOT cheaper.
  3. Correct. But we don't know how quick the list is updated, plus GH writers aren't listed and we know they have fi-core writers or "scabs"
  4. Do we know if she's on strike? There's no guarantee that she's automatically out of a job, too, since technically she didn't do anything wrong, although I can't imagine her staying knowing that her husband was accused of the things he was accused of, regardless of whether the people speaking out were anonymous or not.
  5. Time’s up for Albert Alarr as he is no longer co-executive producer and a primary director at “Days of our Lives,” reports Deadline. Effective immediately, he will be replaced by longtime producer Janet Drucker co-executive producer. Production on “Days of our Lives” will resume on Monday, August 7, with new protocols, including implementing an HR presence on set. The announcement was made this evening via email to cast and crew by executive producer and series owner Ken Corday. “Effective immediately, Janet Drucker will be elevated to co-executive producer of ‘Days of Our Lives,’ replacing Albert Alarr, who will be exiting his role,” Corday wrote in his email obtained by both Deadline and TheWrap. “Moving forward, we will be implementing additional HR protocols, including an increased HR presence as well as channels for reporting any concerns. It is imperative that we have a safe and inclusive workplace environment.” Earlier this week, more than 25 cast members signed a petition demanding Alarr’s dismissal as co-EP and director. Last Friday, when it was learned that Alarr’s name was on the production sheet for directing the planned August 4 episode, the news allegedly didn’t sit well with cast and crew, forcing the show to extend its planned two-week hiatus to a third week. The show planned to resume production on Monday, August 7, which until now likely would have included Alarr’s continued presence on set had he not departed. “Production will resume, as planned, on Monday with new leadership in place. As a reminder, we still have a pre-planned hiatus set for the week of August 14th,” Corday’s email stated in conclusion. Launched in March, the nine-week investigation was “triggered by a complaint related to a recent round of layoffs,” Deadline revealed. Filed by a female employee, the complaint alleged that a number of recent staff cuts had “disproportionally impacted women” who were not receiving equal pay on the show compared to their male counterparts, people close to the matter told the outlet. Seven contract actresses were said to have departed the series around the time of the layoffs, five of whom were either let go altogether or dropped to recurring status. The remaining two actresses reportedly made the decision to leave the series on their own. Separately, one male actor was laid off. In a since-deleted Instagram story, former “Days of our Lives” star Lisa Rinna said, “Karma is a bitch,” referring to the news of Alarr’s behavior behind the scenes. “Well, this took a long time. Let’s see, when’s the last time I went over there and did that week on Peacock I couldn’t believe the work environment,” said Rinna of her return to the role of Billie Reed on spinoff “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem” (Chapter One), which took was taped and aired in 2021 on the streaming service. She called the experience “disgusting” and said she was “shocked” at how things were managed on set. She further noted, “I let many people know how I felt, Albert included, and they didn’t do a thing until now, it seems.” Without the cast working together and the fans rallying behind them, Alarr’s alleged behavior could have continued as the concluded investigation was reportedly handed over to Corday Productions, owner and producer of the series, by distributor Sony Pictures Television which handled the HR investigation as the show up to that point did not have in-house HR representation. In a statement released to Deadline following the investigation’s conclusion and the outlet’s reporting on the subject, Corday Productions said, “After a two-month investigation, the independent investigator produced a report with its findings. Based on those findings, Corday Productions has taken a series of actions designed to ensure a safe and respectful work environment.” The supposed actions at the time included Mr. Alarr reportedly receiving a “written warning” and being asked to “undergo training.” The plan would have seen Alarr keeping his dual roles as co-EP and director, which is said to be what sparked outrage among the cast and crew. As for Drucker, in a 2015 interview when the show was celebrating its 50th anniversary, she discussed her role as a producer, noting that as part of her job, she would work closely with the writers, on stage with the cast and even the control booth “doing a little bit of everything,” she said matter of fact. Check out Drucker’s interview below and tell us what your thoughts are in the comments below. 6. The scenes with Gerhardt were filmed in February. Where did they get the "end of 2022" from?
  7. Nothing to be sad over. I haven't had a dog in 20 years. I was just pointing out how much I'd trust something that doesn't exist before I'd believe that person. Don't be scared. If it's true and something you can stand by and post about, why be scared about it afterward? My understanding is it was via an Instagram story, but nothing I can trace via screenshot or what was specifically said just yet. Sources claiming it was there are trustworthy, but I'd prefer the context/content/visuals.
  8. Oh, I do not for a second doubt @JAS0N47. He's 100% and wouldn't stick his neck out unless he was sure about something. My reasoning is because I have something to add to this but I want to be careful about it.
  9. Okay. Good to know. The writing style I'm used to from you changed and I wanted to be sure because there is someone (won't name them) saying things on social media about the situation as if they are in the know all of a sudden, and I'd morso trust my dog than anything they said (I don't have a dog).
  10. Again, can someone please point me to where Judi allegedly said this on IG? I don't want to hear she said it on IG because someone said she did. I want to know where she said it on IG. Otherwise, it is hearsay to me. Is this you saying this, or is this someone on another site? If not you, source your information. If you can't source it, don't share it.
  11. Can someone please point me to where Judi allegedly said this on IG?
  12. The threads account is Krista's. She has the blue check which carries over from your Instagram profile. As you mentioned the threads handle is same as her Insta so I wouldn't doubt it, unless someone hacked all her accounts, making her the third soap actress to have had that happen to her in about a months' time.
  13. EXCLUSIVE: “Hollywood Hustle,” the debut novel written by “General Hospital” star Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins), is set for release on February 6, 2024, wherever books are sold, Soap Opera Network has learned. In fact, we have your first look at the cover and a tease of what readers can expect from the actor-turned-novelist himself! A gripping thriller set in the dark underbelly of the Hollywood scene, “Hollywood Hustle” is a propulsive and tense thriller that will transport readers to the seedier side of Los Angeles, depicted in bold prose by an insider. The story follows Winston Greene, a has-been film star who wakes one morning to find his six-year-old granddaughter at his bedside—traumatized, unattended, and gripping onto a thumb drive. She comes bearing video proof that her mother, Win’s troubled adult daughter, has been kidnapped by a murderous gang demanding all his “movie money” for her safe return. But they don’t know it’s all gone, long gone. Unable to go to the police for fear the kidnappers will make good on their promise to kill his daughter, Winston turns to two close friends—a legendary Hollywood stuntman and a disgraced former LAPD detective who used to consult on Win’s cop films. There’s no easy way out for Winston or his daughter—the gang is violent and willing to do anything to get the money they’re after, and Winston begins to realize that to get his daughter back, he’ll have to beat the kidnappers at their own game. Acquired for publication by Crooked Lane Books, “Hollywood Hustle” is the perfect match for fans of similar novels written by the likes of Alex Finlay and Jeffrey Deaver. “Writing a novel has been unlike any other creative endeavor I’ve undertaken, and I’ve tackled more than a few,” Lindstrom tells Soap Opera Network of his foray into fiction writing. “There are certainly some similarities between how books, movies and TV are brought to the public, but they end there. The biggest difference I’ve seen is the unconditional support the literary world gives to writers!” As for working with the team at Crooked Lane Books, he notes, “They have shown me nothing but love and encouragement. And the care and consideration they’ve given to this journey is beyond description. I mean … just look at that cover! It rocks!” “Hollywood Hustle” (Book Cover) Courtesy of Crooked Lane Books Explaining his journey into writing, Lindstrom says he pretty much went the traditional route. “I just wanted to spend some time writing down a story every day, and ‘Hollywood Hustle’ is what it became. Then a few authors I know, like Alex Finlay, advised me to go to book conferences, meet some people, and pitch my books to agents, so that’s what I did.” He adds, “I went to ThrillerFest in NYC in the summer of 2022, and met a wonderful agent, Liza Fleissig. We worked together on some edits for a couple of months, and then she submitted the manuscript to only a few houses, including Crooked Lane.” After a meeting with the publisher’s senior editor Jess Verdi, Lindstrom says, “It was instantly crystal clear that she completely got my book, and that Crooked Lane was the publisher for me. I hope to be with them (and Liza) for my entire novel writing career. (And isn’t “Crooked Lane” a great name for a publisher?)” In addition to the above cover reveal, Soap Opera Network has an exclusive excerpt from Chapter 2 of “Hollywood Hustle,” which you can read below. To pre-order your very own copy of “Hollywood Hustle,” click here (purchase options include Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target and Walmart, among others). The hardcover novel retails for $29.99 and will be available wherever books are sold upon release. 15. After Deadline provided an update to its reporting on the Albert Alarr misconduct allegations wherein he is said to have fostered a “toxic work environment” behind the scenes at “Days of our Lives” as the show’s co-executive producer and director, current cast member Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker) took to Twitter on Wednesday asking fans/followers, “What are your thoughts…,” while sharing a link to Deadline’s reporting. Viewed more than 30,000 times at press time, Zucker’s post has since garnered more than 500 likes and nearly 50 direct comments, one of which asked the actress, “Where is your union?” In response to the question, Zucker could only use the “woman shrugging” emoji, seemingly indicating that she’s also questioning where SAG-AFTRA stands on the matter that has become headline news, particularly on highly viewed trade sites such as Deadline, Vulture, TVLine and even The Daily Mail, among others. Considering the bulk of SAG-AFTRA is on strike following the expiration of the TV/theatrical contract between the union and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), with the union calling for action as it “fights for the survival of our profession,” daytime performers don’t appear to be getting the attention they deserve. SAG-AFTRA has yet to issue any statement concerning the situation at “Days of our Lives” despite conditions behind the scenes having allegedly been swept under the rug for several years under Alarr’s leadership, some of which were detailed in new allegations published by Deadline about Alarr and his alleged behavior while on set. Albert Alarr Photo by Howard Wise/JPI Studios “During love scenes, [Alarr] has been inserting himself into them like, ‘Let me show you how to do it’, which, even in and of itself as this is awkward and uncomfortable,” a source told Deadline in response to the outlet’s reporting that the producer “not only has made crude directing comments onstage, but he also does it over a loudspeaker for cast and crew to hear his remarks about the sexiness of a risqué scene or the actress involved in it.” Another actress told the publication that Alarr had been “flirtatious” with her. “We’re all adults but there is a line at work, and the flirtation happens often, and it would go with a hug and then a lingering hug and then his famous line; if he said something derogatory or sexual, it always came with a chuckle and ‘A good thing there’s no HR.’ I can’t tell you the amount of times I heard that,” they elaborated. Further, they stated, “I’ve had moments on set where he has chosen to physically move me or tries to be my co-star in dry block,” the actress said, referring to onstage camera rehearsals. “And then he does his Albert giggle, and we just keep moving because that’s what you do on this show. Otherwise, who knows, you get fired if you say anything.” As for SAG-AFTRA, daytime performers are contractually obligated to continue working as their contract, the National Code of Fair Practice for Network Television Broadcasting (aka Network Television Code), was signed by the union last year (retroactive to 2021) and is not set to expire until July 2024, meaning that even though daytime actors are out there joining their fellow members on the picket lines they are still required to fulfill their contract responsibilities. Current programs covered by the contract include the likes of “Good Morning America,” “Tamron Hall,” “The Young and the Restless,” “Jeopardy,” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Voice,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” the Academy Awards and the Super Bowl, among a host of others. Zucker, the most vocal current cast member at “Days of our Lives” to speak out in response to the allegations brought against Alarr, commented on a post by former co-star Farah Galfond (ex-Mimi Lockhart), who detailed her experience working under the direction of Alarr as she filmed her first ever on-screen love scene when she was just 19 years old back in 2003. Galfond shared, “I had the particular misfortune of having Alarr direct my first ever ‘love’ scene when I was 19. He was new so I was already nervous not having one of the other directors that I was used to. I was extremely modest and freaked out to be standing in my underwear in front of dozens of crew (aka men that had known me since I was 15…ew) and did Albert do or say one little thing to make me feel remotely at ease? Absolutely not. He pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed me on a particular issue, and was annoyed when I stood my ground.” She added, “20 years later and I still feel sad about that day yet happy I set a boundary. But MAN would it have been nice to have a WOMAN direct that scene and make sure I felt protected instead of exposed,” Galfond pointed out. “It’s been hard for me to read the news. I guess I’m shocked he learned nothing after the me too movement. Or by …hello?? The cast & crew’s appalled reactions to him on daily basis??” “Thank you Farah! Your words matter,” said Zucker responding to Galfond’s tweet. “Knowing you are not alone may not only start to ease what you and many others have gone through, but saying something is everything. Love you always! #Womentakingourpowerback MOVEMENT.” Last month, Zucker told fans/followers, “Hello Wonderful ‘DAYS’ Fans and supporters! In light of the recent information, trust in knowing that your love and messages mean everything. Also know that we are all supporting each other. Cast and crew! It takes a village. Just hang tight…” On Friday, July 28, Deadline revealed that “Days of our Lives” opted to extend its planned two-week break by one additional week after the filming schedule was released showing Alarr’s name as director for the Friday, August 4 episode (which would air sometime next year). Reportedly the news upset those impacted by Alarr’s alleged conduct. As of Wednesday, August 2, Alarr remains the show’s co-executive producer, which is why more than 25 cast members signed a petition requesting he be dismissed and be replaced with someone who the cast can respect and trust. Production on “Days of our Lives” is set to resume on Monday, August 7, barring any additional scheduling changes. 16. Farah Galfond, known professionally as Farah Fath from her time working on “Days of our Lives” as Mimi Lockhart and “One Life to Live” as Gigi Morasco, is opening up for the first time about her experience working under the direction of Albert Alarr, the producer/director who is currently embroiled in controversy stemming from his continued oversight of production at “Days of our Lives” despite misconduct allegations. Photo by Howard Wise/JPI Studios Last month, it was revealed that a misconduct investigation against Alarr had concluded with the co-executive producer/director only receiving a written warning and being asked to undergo training. The outcome of the investigation, much of which has reportedly still not been fully explained to the cast and crew of the Corday Productions-produced series, led more than 25 cast members to sign a petition requesting Alarr’s dismissal and that he be replaced with someone who they can respect and trust. Calling the decision to keep Alarr in his positions of power “traumatic and disheartening,” the group’s petition, which was first shared by Deadline, says, “As a result of said actions of the current [co-] executive producer Albert Alarr, mentioned in the report, many of us feel — and will continue to feel — very uncomfortable and distraught should he stay involved with the show.” Further, “Many of us have either been physically or verbally violated by him, including witnessing those objectionable and offensive actions.” While Galfond is no longer a cast member of the series, with her last appearance in 2018, she would like to add her name to the petition, if only through virtual means. In a thread published on Twitter late Wednesday, she said, “I’m not on the cast anymore but I would love to sign the petition in spirit.” Referencing the allegations brought against Alarr and referring to her exiting “Days of our Lives” in 2007 to join “One Life to Live,” she adds, “These were my experiences too. It wasn’t until I switched shows that I realized not every set was like that.” Recalling her experience working with Alarr in scenes that would have aired in 2003, which is when Alarr had just joined “Days of our Lives” as a director, Galfond stated, “I had the particular misfortune of having Alarr direct my first ever ‘love’ scene when I was 19. He pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed me on a particular issue, and was annoyed when I stood my ground.” “[Twenty years later] and I still feel sad about that day yet happy I set a boundary. But MAN would it have been nice to have a WOMAN direct that scene and make sure I felt protected instead of exposed,” Galfond pointed out. “It’s been hard for me to read the news. I guess I’m shocked he learned nothing after the me too movement. Or by …hello?? The cast & crew’s appalled reactions to him on daily basis??” “I’m sorry to my former coworkers who’ve been dealing with this relentlessly for decades now. Proud of those who are finding their voice now. His time is up. Nice work,” said Galfond, concluding her thread with a “red heart” and “folded hands” emoji, a display of love and prayers for her former colleagues. In response to Galfond’s thread, former co-star and current “Days of our Lives” cast member Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker) said, “Thank you Farah! Your words matter. Knowing you are not alone may not only start to ease what you and many others have gone through, but saying something is everything. Love you always! #Womentakingourpowerback MOVEMENT.” In addition to his directing work, in 2011, Alarr was made a producer at “Days of our Lives.” By 2015, he had acquired the title of co-executive producer, working alongside fellow co-executive producer Greg Meng. Following Meng’s exit in 2020, Alarr became the show’s sole co-executive producer working under executive producer Ken Corday, who also owns and produces the soap opera through his family-owned company, Corday Productions, Inc. Sony Pictures Television distributes the series. Galfond briefly returned to “Days of our Lives” in 2018, once again reprising the role of Mimi Lockhart. Outside of daytime, Galfond’s credits include a minor role in an episode of “American Dreams” and appearing in two TV movies, one of which starred former “Days of our Lives” co-star Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami Brady) – “Murder, She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery.” Check out Galfond’s thread below. 17. She sounds like Brian Frons with her replacement shows -- in her case, canceling two soaps for two cheap game shows that failed. Also, a Mercedes Benz MSRP at $41,000? Can we return to sanity in this country? Wow.

  19. The last time Ken Corday was photographed was in March of this year when the show got picked up for two years. Incidentally, scenes taped around that time will air next month, which will also mark the one year anniversary of the show's move to Peacock.
  20. Ken is golfing... Seriously, spoke with someone the other night who knows Ken outside of the genre and I told them to tell him to get off the golf course and fix his show. Either they didn't relay the message or Corday truly doesn't care.
  21. Despite widespread outrage over what was recently learned about “Days of our Lives” co-executive producer Albert Alarr and his alleged behind-the-scenes behavior at one of TV’s longest-running series, following an internal investigation conducted by distributor Sony Pictures Television, Corday Productions, producer of the series, is reportedly maintaining the status quo with Alarr still in charge, leaving several dozen cast and crew members to fend for themselves in trying to create a “safe, balanced and fair work environment,” Deadline revealed today in an update to the dramatic story. Albert Alarr Photo by Howard Wise/JPI Studios According to the outlet, Alarr, who also serves as a director on the soap opera, continues to maintain his position as co-executive producer as of publication today, August 2. As a result, 25 cast members have signed a petition calling for new leadership behind the scenes. In a copy of a document obtained by Deadline, the actors call the decision to keep Alarr in his positions of power “traumatic and disheartening.” “As a result of said actions of the current [co-] executive producer Albert Alarr, mentioned in the report, many of us feel — and will continue to feel — very uncomfortable and distraught should he stay involved with the show,” the petition reads. “Many of us have either been physically or verbally violated by him, including witnessing those objectionable and offensive actions.” The group is asking for an immediate replacement who they can respect and trust, with the petition stating, “We all want to make the most of this significant moment, not just for us in entertainment, but for our loyal viewers and the culture as a whole.” Following the conclusion of Sony’s investigation into Alarr’s alleged misconduct, the producer received just a written warning and was asked to undergo training. However, those who took part in the investigation as a witness, nor the remaining cast and crew, were made aware of the outcome of the investigation which is said to have still not been properly addressed following Deadline’s reporting, the outlet shared. Ken Corday Photo by Chris Haston/NBC One source at the show told Deadline, “Everyone is so upset,” referring to Corday Productions’ lack of communication and lack of adequate action over the situation. “It’s just so disheartening. That silence is so deafening. The silence from the show, the silence from Ken,” said another source, speaking of owner and executive producer Ken Corday, who is said to have not been involved in a hands-on way with the show for the last few years, “passing that responsibility to Alarr, and he also opted to keep Alarr in his roles after receiving the report from the Sony TV-run probe following meetings with multiple staffers who had shared their issues with the director-producer before speaking with the Sony HR investigator. Alarr received a written warning and was asked to undergo training.” One longtime employee said of Corday himself, “I was always grateful to Ken, and I always had hopes that he would do the right thing, and what we’re seeing is that he’s not, and that’s very sad to me.” They added, “It’s very sad that he’s chosen one person over the entirety of the show, and the integrity of the show.” According to one unnamed actor, “If any of this had come out about any actor or actress, even remotely close, even if it was just an allegation, not even something that was true, they’d be gone,” speaking in reference to the investigation against Alarr. “The actors are held to a standard, and the fact that a producer isn’t, it’s just madness to me.” Another performer says, “Where are the people helping out the ones who feel voiceless? What is also sad is that you feel like is that this guy gets to get away with it because not enough people are coming to our rescue.” Overall, the atmosphere behind the scenes is said to be so toxic that one performer notes, “It’s really a place in which the actors have had to take care of each other, check in on one another, [asking] ‘are you OK?’” “Days of our Lives” was reportedly set to resume production this week following a two-week production hiatus. Following the allegations against Alarr being made public last week, Corday Productions extended the hiatus for another week after the filming schedule was released showing Alarr’s name as director for the Friday, August 4 episode (which would air sometime next year). Production is currently set to resume on Monday, August 7. Ultimately, the cast is hoping to foster a “safe, balanced and fair work environment,” an unnamed actor said to Deadline. “We want this beautiful show to continue for as long as we can. We want all these people to have jobs.” Incidentally, as the bulk of Hollywood is on strike over the expiration of the TV/theatrical contract between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP, along with the WGA and the expiration of their contract with the same powerhouse organization, soap opera performers are essentially left to fend for themselves in general, says one performer. “Even though we’re dealing with and facing a lot of the same things that they’re striking about, if not more, in some cases, because it’s a big-time forgotten about area of the business,” the person said. “That being said, the actors and some crew are having to band together and call for change because it just doesn’t seem as if it’s happening.” Most daytime productions, including soap operas, fall under the SAG-AFTRA Net Code contract, which covers on-air personalities. Daytime drama writers are currently on strike as part of a unified WGA contract. For more on Deadline’s reporting, including new allegations against Alarr, click here. 23. Beautiful people. Horrible photos to use on the cover of a print magazine. The use of the word "Explodes" is suggestive. Knowing this show, it's Liam exploding where his privates shouldn't be anywhere near. That being said, I understand this is a soap, but Finn forgiving his mother AFTER shooting him and leaving him for dead (SHE DID THAT!) is UNFORGIVABLE!!!! I don't care who she saved. Her ass (Sheila) should have been in jail over a year ago, no matter how sweet and kind Kimberlin Brown is in real life.
  24. FINALLY! Some BTS changes are said to be coming to one soap, but not the one making headlines. P.S. Don't ask me questions as I won't answer.
