November 23, 201213 yr Member Ah, that 2001 episode was dedicated "In Loving Memeory of Alan Pultz" who was a director on the show.
November 23, 201213 yr Member I'm going to try to catch up with the earlier classic episodes if/when Lori Jo puts them up. I did see the end of the 2001 one/beginning of this one, though. And I like both SK and BW. And it has to be said: BW is SMOKING HOT. THOSE EYES. Edited November 23, 201213 yr by MissLlanviewPA
November 23, 201213 yr Member Does anyone know if the 1996 Thanksgiving episode is on YT? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9E1FluE6x1k
November 23, 201213 yr Member The 1997 episode was during Guza's first month of episodes or so back at the show after his successful 1996 stint (which he contractually had to vacate when NBC picked up Sunset Beach). At the time, Guza's return was akin to Christ rising from the dead in the soap press and on early internet soap communities. I thought in 96 he was only a co-HW for a few months? Why did he leave again around 2000?
November 23, 201213 yr Member Oh how I still miss the FOTH opening. Loved Carly and Tony showing up together. And, I really loved the ending to that last one where Lucy/Kevin found Sigmund with the other duck! Sigmund was adorable. I want a pet duck. The Labines had a thing for quirky animal sidekicks. Sigmund was the best (I never liked Todd's parrot, though it did give him someone to talk to when nobody on the show would...) I'll never understand why Ned followed Lois with boring-ass Alexis. It truly pays to be a friend of bootleg Janet Wood because that's the only way that I can see how NLG's chicken-clucking ass lasted this long on this show. I sure wish that Luke had followed through on his threat to ether the Slagbeast instead of allowing that whore to decimate the show. GH damn sure wouldn't have been in such terrible shape if Labine/Riche remained intact instead of Labine moving on and Riche getting fired. I thought Labine was let go, because they felt the show was getting too dark/serious (all these great, but heavy stories, like the AIDS one after the other).
November 23, 201213 yr Member I thought in 96 he was only a co-HW for a few months? He was the main HW from like March through October in 1996, with Karen Harris as his secondary Co-HW. Why did he leave again around 2000? December 1997 through December 2000 was his second stint. He left due to tension with Wendy Riche (who was on her way out anyway). November 23, 201213 yr Member I thought people felt highly of the Cullitons on the show (but they left to focus purely on PC?)
November 23, 201213 yr Member Richard Culliton's stint was derided by the soap press (Michael Logan in particular, I believe). A lot of fans were unhappy at the time (at least on early online communities). But I do think some of the mess during that time wasn't necessarily Culliton's fault, but he got all the blame.

Sounds like his stint on AMC...
November 23, 201213 yr Member Gia (a.k.a.: the only time that I found Nik tolerable)! Sucks that she was thrown under the bus for bootleg Emily in the same way that it sucks that Maya was thrown under the bus for the non-factor that was Ethina and that Keesha was thrown under the bus for the Slagbeast. Then again, this is par for the course for GH, who would soon as cancel itself than have a non-stereotypical Black female character thrive on the frontburner. I don't recall Maya being thrown under any bus. The actress left to do Charlie's Angels and that was that for Maya. You could bring on another actress to play Maya but what would be the point, and Nathan Parsons left soon after anyway.

The last time we saw her was her husband walking in on her in bed with another man when she was supposed to be taking care of her sick family. If that's not being thrown under the bus, I don't know what is. Edited November 23, 201213 yr by SoapBoy94
November 23, 201213 yr Member Are you kidding!? They wrote maya out by saying she cheated on Ethan. The last time we saw her was her husband walking in on her in bed with another man when she was suppose to be taking care of her sick family. If that's not being thrown under the bus, I don't know what is. But what difference did it make by then? Had the actress not left they never would have written that. That she left while Ethan and Maya were so much in love sort of meant they had to slap together some quick excuse why they would split up. I guess they could have killed her, but the sick family excuse could only have worked for just so long. The character did not survive even a single episode past her affair, so there was never a time for any bus to run her over, let alone run her over for the sake of Kristina. And they never even paired Ethan with Kristina--thankfully.
