ATWT: Martha Byrne's Maternity Leave

Featured Replies

Just curious if anyone knows how long maternity leaves usually are. It seems MB left in late June...meaning we should see her again in probably late September, correct? But since ATWT is filmed at least a month in advance, she's probably already back at work. I don't know, though. I always thought mat. leaves were three months or four, depending on the actress's wishes.

Does anybody know?

Soap actresses usually take anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks off.

I read somewhere that she returns from leave and begins shooting in September...

Yeah, she begins shooting on September. :(

I wish they had just recast the role while she was gone.THis si the best story on the show and Lily in a coma completely halted it and is ruining it. If they could recast Lisa, then they could definitely recast Lily for a few months while Byrne is away.

I can;t wait to see her again!

If Martha is shooting her scenes in September, that means this storyline won't wrap up until sometime in November possibly.

I want this storyline to pick up speed...With Martha out, a major part of the story is just halted.
