Y&R: I Still Say Jack, Not Nick is the Daddy

I seriously think that Jack, not Nick is the father of Phyllis' baby. This is the number one reason why I think that:

Nick is the only one that saw the paternity test results; no body asked to see the document for themselves, they basically took Nick's word as the truth.

I think Nick may way to have the baby being his based off that dream he had of Cassie showing him of what his life would have been if she did't die.

I think Jack is the proud papa...It would make sense to have it come out that Phyllis isn't carrying Nick's child, and have it be Jack's. Making Nick the father means nothing; his marriage was over with basically anyway; he really doesn't have anything to lose; Jack, on the other hand, lost his job, lost some of the respect of the people who trusted him and his work ethic; he lost his girlfriend, and he's about to lose his own father soon. The only thing going for Jack is that he's at NVP, and he may lose that soon too once Victor returns back to himself.

Basically, Jack has far more lost than Nick; who cares that his marriage is over; those are small potatos compared to all the mess Jack has been dealt...and personally, I just feel that if the baby turned out to be his, that will give him to be proud of.

Making Nick the father was way too easy and simple.

I would like him to be the father for two reasons: 1) I love Jack and whatever he wants, I want for him and 2) Nick and Phyllis' happy home will bust all up and I will LMBO!

The whole "Nick is the daddy" is too safe and too simple... and it's getting boring before it has even began. With Jack, there's alot of things that will test Jack and Phyllis' relationship, since they had a strong one (which to me Nick and she will never have).

In all honesty, they didn't need to break up the marriage officially for Nick/Sharon by adding a baby into the picture; they should have just left it as two spouses that decided to turn to other people instead of each other.

I agree.

I soooo hope that Jack eventually turns out to be the daddy.

It sucks how Jack and Phyllis went through hell trying to have a child and then NiClueless comes along and BAM... Phyllis gets pregnant despite being told she had virtually no chance of ever having another child.

The thing that has me concerned, though, is that the show seems to have completely severed ties between Jack and Phyllis. The show keeps hammering that there's no love there anymore, which is an insult to Jack/Phyllis fans.

I think the tragedy that happens to the Abbotts could put Phyllis right back in Jack's orbit. While I like Nick and Phyllis at times together, it's really wearing thin by having them always approaching each other; her going over the the Newman house to ask about Sharon; him suddenly going over to her house the minute he and Sharon officially told Noah it was over in their marriage.

Personally, I saw more spark with Jack; it's more than just "sex" between them...he knows what she's capable of and she knows what he's capable of. Nick and Phyllis have more sexual attraction than true love for one another.

Quite honestly, having Nick being the father won't teach him anything; he still comes off as a liar and a cheat, but now he's one that is going to be a father again. I don't see much emotion from Nick since they stated he's the daddy.

For Jack, it would be more emotional, because a baby with Phyllis was something he's always wanted

I think the death of John will bring Phyllis and Jack closer too and Sharon's kidnapping is the vehicle to bring Nick and Sharon closer.

You know what, it didn't even cross my mind that Nick didn't show anyone the results! Wow.....wow! I hope Jack is the dad in the long run, but I really want this to play out.

I'm getting this feeling too.

I really don't know what to make for Nick always referring to Sharon as his wife, I would think he would just call her 'Sharon'. Instead, they are hammering the whole 'my wife is kidnapped' from Nick big time. I found it weird that no one has pointed that out yet.

My first thought when Nick announced that he was the father, and no one questioned him and saw the papers, was that Jack was really the father. Which makes me wonder if he's doing it to "redeem" himself after what happened with Cassie or if he's trying to "protect" Phyllis. All I have to say, if this is the case, I can't wait for Jack to go at Nick...

Can we turn this into a Y&R Friday thread? LOL.

The beginning of Friday's was like FLASHBACK GALORE! Wow. I was really surprised. The show hasn't used a lot of flashbacks in the time I've been watching, and then bam! It was like DAYS.

Ok, I have totally checked out of this Nick/Brad/Rellaquary (sp?) thing. It's really enough already.

I've also really checked out the ESP aspect of the Victor story. I like the epilepsy stuff, but the supernatural stuff just doesn't seem right on Y&R.

I liked the Kevin/Alex drama today.

Yeah, when Nick came back, he simply told Phyllis that he was the father; he didn't show her the results, nor did she ask to see them. Plus, the whole thing where Jack offered to do a paternity test was some bit of foreshadowing, because the minute Nick returned, Phyllis told Jack he didn't have to do the test, which to me basically means that Jack could be the real father after all.

I think it might be revealed during the time Phyllis gives birth: there will be something that goes down with that birth; a part of me believes that it will be Jack, not Nick that will be there to help with the delivery; or some sort of crisis will occur where the baby will need some sort of donor, and Nick, thinking he's the father, will be told his blood type doesn't match, which will be a slap in the face for him, and a BIG realization for Phyllis that Jack is the daddy.

I was saying Jack was the father too. Nick just wanted his cake & eat it too. Now that Sharon is endanger would they united them Phylis will have to worry about that.

Phylis look out of place at the Newman Ranch. I just can't see her taking their crap like Sharon did.

Phylis & Jack will always be connected through Daniel too. It seems like Daniel respect Jack more.

I see everyone's point on why Jack should be the Baby's father, but I am sensing that Jack is out totally in this storyline. Nick, Phyliss, Brad, Sharon, & Victoria is gonna be the story that brings in the climax. I have a feeling that we will learn that Sharon is pregnant by Brad after she returns from being kidnapped.

Jack doesn't need a child right now, he's too busy scheming to ruin Victor while the man is sick. Let him continue to mess around with Carmen. He's to fit better going head to head with Neil for Carmen's affections. add Dru to the mix and u have the ingredients for trouble.

Bring it on!!!!

I agree with you. There is one flaw with thinking Nick is lying about the paternity....Noah. I don't they would write Nick in as a liar at the risk of breaking Noah down that way, or knowing the effect it would have on Noah for Nick to lie about the paternity when Nick knew telling Sharon would end the marriage. I know what some of your are thinking...he could still be lying because even after he told Sharon, he still asked to stay and save there marriage, therefore making it possible for him to still be Noah's dad and around Phyillis. It still does not add up, do to the fact that eventually Noah would be told Nick is the father. I for one am happy to see different charaters together Nic and Sharon got boring real quick! Go Phyillis, I dont like the way you did the sh**, but you better make this last!

First off, welcome to the board adrianna :)

Okay... this could be true...Nick could be the father...however, I'm thinking that he's not.

Nick's been lying to cover his butt for a long time; sorry, but he has...So has Sharon.

My thing is this...Nick knows Sharon very well...Sharon knows Nick well too. Nick could have told Sharon he was the father and that he wanted to work on his marriage; maybe he knew that deep down Sharon would not stay in the marriage with Nick knowing that he had another baby out of an affair.

Jack isn't out of Phyllis' orbit yet; not by a long shot...First off Phyllis was close to John Abbott; also, there's no way that they are going to have the Abbott having a tragedy such as killing John, and NOT have Phyllis being there for Jack; that is way out of the norm; and Nick or no Nick, and baby or no baby, they will have Phyllis involved.

I truly think that the writers can throw a curve ball in this whole thing.

Jack doesn't need a child right now, he's too busy scheming to ruin Victor while the man is sick. Let him continue to mess around with Carmen. He's to fit better going head to head with Neil for Carmen's affections. add Dru to the mix and u have the ingredients for trouble.

I think Jack will be doing some serious reconsideration about continuing to scheme against Victor; especially if he loses his father. I just can't seeing Jack, continuing to ruin Victor, especially if he's dealt a cold blow such as a death of a family member.

Next week, I think John will have some serious talking with Jack about what he's doing with NVP; those last conversations will most likely dig at Jack...
