Y&R: I Still Say Jack, Not Nick is the Daddy

I agree with you. There is one flaw with thinking Nick is lying about the paternity....Noah. I don't they would write Nick in as a liar at the risk of breaking Noah down that way, or knowing the effect it would have on Noah for Nick to lie about the paternity when Nick knew telling Sharon would end the marriage. I know what some of your are thinking...he could still be lying because even after he told Sharon, he still asked to stay and save there marriage, therefore making it possible for him to still be Noah's dad and around Phyillis. It still does not add up, do to the fact that eventually Noah would be told Nick is the father. I for one am happy to see different charaters together Nic and Sharon got boring real quick! Go Phyillis, I dont like the way you did the sh**, but you better make this last!

Welcome to the board. I agree I dont see Nick putting Noah threw this lie cause he may love and want to protect Phyllis more. I think he would not put a child threw this. I also choose to beleive he would not lie about a paternity of a child since he saw what it was like with Abby.

I really beleive that Nick is the child father and the end of that part of the storyline.

Nick NOT being the father would be an interesting twist.

There's a part of me that automatically thought how cruel of Nick to deprive Jack of knowing the truth, but it looks like he's still wrapped in grief about losing Cassie, and just wants another child to love. Cassie wasn't his biological child and he loved her more than anything, so maybe in his mind he's thinking biology doesn't mean anything. This child is his because he loves Phyliss, and the test was irrelevant to him.

It's wrong, I know. But I do feel sorry for Nick sometimes.

I think Nick hasn't come to terms with his grief....Sorry to say this but Sharon wasn't really thinking about her children at all when she took it upon herself to leave Genoa City, even after Cassie nearly drowned. Besides, Noah doesn't even know in terms of the reason why Nick and Sharon truly decided to end the marriage. All Noah knows is that his parents aren't getting a long.

The reason why I posted this was because of something that was written in SOW about this: I myself was curious and wanted to know what everyone else thought on the subject :)

Yeah, Sharon Case posed this theory in SOW.

Well I only watch sporadically - but I saw it the day Nick 'said' he was the father.

I have to admit - I couldn't believe these people just took his word for it - too easy! I didn't know if I'd missed something else that 'proved' he was telling the truth. I think Phyllis is accepting it without question because she wants it to be true right now. But she may feel differently later - or they'll pull the tried and true - baby needs blood at birth and low and behold - Nick's not a match!

I've seen enough paternity/dna/who's the daddy stories to know - one guy's word - especially one that has every reason to lie - should NOT be trusted!!

Not to mention - I'd much rather this baby turn out to be Jack's!! Make's all kind of sense that he finally get an heir! :)

First off, welcome to the board adrianna :)

Okay... this could be true...Nick could be the father...however, I'm thinking that he's not.

Nick's been lying to cover his butt for a long time; sorry, but he has...So has Sharon.

My thing is this...Nick knows Sharon very well...Sharon knows Nick well too. Nick could have told Sharon he was the father and that he wanted to work on his marriage; maybe he knew that deep down Sharon would not stay in the marriage with Nick knowing that he had another baby out of an affair.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I'm going to say this looking back on a conversation Nick and Sharon had when he confirmed with her he could be the baby's father. He stated to Sharon that Phyillis said she would take care of the child by herself no matter if it was Nick's or Jack's, and Sharon told Nick that she could not see Nick turning his back on his own child. Sharon also stated that she made the decision to stand by Nick if the child was his...hmmm...See, I think the only reason Sharon did not was because he told Phyillis the results first and left without a word before telling anyone. Also, what would Nick gain by lying, Sharon had already offered to have a child with him, Phyillis obsolved him of all responsbility, and he could remain and be a father to Noah daily? As of now, if he is lying, that would be messed up to paint him as the father that stuck around when Sharon left, or that stuck by her when she was doing all that lying, or allowed her back in the children's life when she was SOL for months. Just does not add up. Besides, Nick had no idea that Jack and Phyillis had been to have a paternity test when Nick left and never followed thru, Nick not being the father would not make any sense. Also, Jack has two children that he does not pay a damn bit of attention to, why give him a third? Why did Jack put his sperm in a bank anyway if he could have kids the natural way.

The paternity test we should be questioning is the Malcolm/Neil/Dru/Lily, because those came out before Neil could even confront his brother about what happened and they have been in limbo ever since. And the roll that Phyillis played in the results cast a big shadow on the results, how did they get Neil's sample? And when they ran the test how did Dru manage to doctor the other one making Neil the father? I think there is more to this one, than meets the eye.

At one point a while ago Jack was planning on having a vasectomy. Victor left his sperm sample for the same reason so maybe Jack did too.

I don't think Jack should be the father. He didn't even know about Kemo but has not mentioned him very much at all since he left. He has not made any effort to have a relationship with his young son Kyle even though he had custody and could have kept it. In fact he was a better father to Nicholas than Victor ever was and maybe hell be the same kind of father to Victor's grandson as he was to Victor's son. I like the idea of Phyllis having a Newman heir but eventually she'll tire of Nick, as we all have, and go back to the real star of the Y&R Jack!!
