Are we allowed to post them here anymore? I see they are gone. Were they moved or deleted? I can see not wanting to fill up the main forum with them but can we have a You Tube thread that can be pinned? Or even a forum would be good. I love watching the old clips and it is nice that people have been posting links to them here.

Oh, I'm sure she was, I just thought it was funny she blamed her ex.
I think this was one of the problems with soaps during the 80s and 90s. Trying too hard to replicate the success of GH. Days somehow found its own niche, but none of the others did.
From the dates they were credited on GL, I'm gathering they came up with the hunt for the chest of Andorra gold and the art theft story -- the kind of things that might have worked on DOOL or GH, but were just silly on GL.

Like I said... too young to appreciate it. I joke about smoking weed to watch soaps but it was an almost perfect combination back then. Vegetating we called it. A few spliffs after school and we were ready to feel every beat of every story in the 1970s.
I wish I had stuck with that show after reading your post. Not sure what I would have clicked to instead. The Edge of Night maybe? The Guiding Light? The Secret Storm? I was more used to them.

So in your opinion, the 1970s were the peak of daytime dramas and the decline began in the 1980s?
From a ratings perspective, I say the real issues began in the late 1980s with Nielsen people meters and the writers strike, and everything culminated in the aftermath of OJ.

I will go to my grave asserting that daytime TV's baffling determination to abandon naturalistic/realistic character-driven material in favor of shock and awe, flash and trash, low-brow camp, science fiction and fantasy stories is the principle reason why the soaps ended up crippled and on life support.
This why we can't have nice things.☹️😒😔
